I have been a patient of Dr. Henley's for 3 years. When I first went in my teeth were a mess. I had multiple missing and cracked teeth and a detached bridge. I was worried I might need dentures. Where to begin? My extreme fear of the dentist is all but gone. Dr Henley and his and his terrific staff have gotten me back into the dental chair and after many, many years of neglect and I am finally getting the work that needs to be done, done. The staff at the front office are so pleasant and helpful. And Terry, Dr. Henley's longtime assistant is just wonderful. And there's nothing like a good ol' Deep Root Cleaning. It is no walk in the park. Believe me. But when it's time to get it done this is the place. Swati, the assistant who did my deep cleaning made it as stress free and pain free as possible. This past Monday I walked in for a couple crowns. Waited in the waiting room for 3 minutes. Had the crown work done. Went and waited for 5 minutes and then had my deep cleaning done. I've been working with Doctor Henley since I had braces. I originally went to a chain orthodontist to get my braces. I started having issues with this business and because of the problems I was having I switched to a new Dentist. He's been great. I've had two root canals and even a dental implant. I am so sad to be writing this review. If you want excellent service but to be financially ripped off, this place is for you. I came in here based on a recommendation from a friend. I had missed my 6 month appt bc of a move. The cleaning was great, the lady who cleaned my teeth was awesome, and the receptionists are some amazing women. It all went down after that. I was shocked when I was told I had 11 cavities. I've only has two cavities my entire life and only missed one cleaning. When I mentioned this, the dentist Dr. Henley told me, "This is what happens when you turn 30 if you aren't taking good enough care of your teeth." I figured it was like my metabolism. I scheduled three different fillings and went to the first two. At my first filling I told them I was pregnant in case that mattered. The lady who assisted the dentist immediately asked me, "Is this a wanted or unwanted pregnancy?" I thought that was a rather inappropriate and personal question, especially since it was my first time meeting her. My second filling was brutal. The numbing shot got into my sinuses, not only effecting my mouth, but my nose and all the way up to my eye. I was miserable, in a lot of pain, and had to cancel going to class that night. After my first two fillings, my husband went in for his first appt. He had also missed one cleaning and was told he had five cavities. Feeling something was fishy, we went to a different dentist for a second opinion. This dentist looked at our teeth and said he saw zero cavities. He showed us images of our teeth and asked if this is what Dr Henley showed us. We said yes. This dentist told us it was an old trick shady dentists use. He said Dr Henley was essentially showing us belly button lint for teeth - the brown color in the crevices of our teeth can't be reached by a toothbrush, but they weren't cavities. Just to be 100%, he pulled out a device called a KaVo DIAGNOdent. He said in order for their to be a cavity, it had to hit a certain number. The machine didn't even hit half of that on a single tooth in either of our mouths. I asked the second dentist about the comment that this happened because I turned 30. He laughed and said, "He actually said that?! That's not true! Taking advantage of clients probably means he's driving a much nicer car than I am! I just can't do that to my clients." And a pregnant client at that??? AND her husband?? Who is that immoral?? We're STILL paying off the appts when that money should be going towards our baby. It's been a few months and the filling interrupts my taste. Almost like a clay filling. It hasn't diminished slightly. Take your money elsewhere. It's just too sad. We're devastated. read more

This guy is a quack. I ended up paying for 11 cavities and sealant for my son. We went to another dentist who asked why my son had so many fillings. He said that they were not necessary. In addition, the sealant is only necessary once and the quack's treatment was for the second occurrence. This guy is a prime example of a dentist that gives dentistry a bad name. We trusted him and he took advantage of the situation. Additionally, I'm not the only person whom he has done this to. Our friend had many "cavities" filled by the guy and was subsequently told by another dentist that she had been ripped off as she did not need the services performed. I question his intent and wonder why he would treat his Customers this way. read more

Just started see him as my Dentist last year. He is great!! And the staff. I have never felt so comfortable and well taken care of. I was referred by friends and coworker who also recommend him. 2 thumbs up. 2017, still seeing Dr Henley & his staff.. Great work! Just had a crown place & it went as well as expected. Lol! Dr Jim has been my dentist, and my only dentist, since 1979! As a medical professional myself I am aware how a doctor and his/her staff need to treat patients to be successful. This practice is very successful because they do good work and everyone, most importantly the dentist, knows what they are doing. Dr Henley has never let me down and he has never advised any dental treatment that was unnecessary. I trust him to do what's in my best interest. Period. Terry, Dr Henley's long time chair side assistant, is smart, honest, caring, available, and loving. They make a great and highly professional team. Any highly skilled craftsman whom, fabricates high precision parts for, let us say, an aeronautical prototype, in his own shop from extremely expensive alloys is far more skilled and has far more weight on his shoulders as far as responsibility for failure than any dentist. However they bill in the lower to mid hundreds per hour of their work. Dentists seem to believe they can bill $1000 per hour. I don't understand this. Well I do, they have lobbied long and hard to get the government to give them the "regulations" necessary to get away with robbery. Example: Dr Henley's office gave my wife a Valium pill worth $0.05 and billed her $37 for it. Do the math. Is this margin of profit beyond obscene? I was able to fly to Argentina, go fly fishing in Patagonia, visit friends and family and have my crown and post installed for less money than I was quoted here for just the crown and post. Legislation regarding "medical" practices in America should be burned and replaced with close to nothing, let them compete in the real world, not under crony government "protection" and therefore utterly gouge the people in their moment of greatest need. read more

Dr. Jim Henley is by far the best dentist I have ever been to in my life (and I am almost 70 years old). In 2010, I was in severe pain from a abscessed tooth and had been without regular dental care for some time. Dr. Henley's staff gave me an early appointment and took care of my needs with compassion and consideration, From then on they have pretty much changed my whole outlook. I can now smile without hiding my mouth behind my hand and I really appreciate the freedom of my new healthy and happy attitude. Dr. Henley is very proficient and professional. He explains each procedure in full, He is very upbeat and fun. I am extremely happy to have him as my dentist. I know others would benefit from his care as well. In addition, he has the most fabulous staff. Terry is so great. Shira cleans my teeth on a regular basis and is super. Debby, who recently moved back from Ohio, made the first appointment for me and I will forever be grateful for her gracious manner and kindness during my procedures. Run don't walk away from this horrible place!!!!!! Got referred here from family and have heard of this doc living in RP all my life. So my wife goes in to get a regular cleaning and check up. She's maybe had one or two cavities in her life. She goes here and wham she has not one, not two not three but four cavities. One was pretty clear on the X-ray but the others were hard to see. The doc was adamant about what we were looking at so my wife made the appointment to get them taken care of. She was quoted about $800 for the work. Knowing it could be a little more we were okay with that. They looked at her coverage and based on their experience gave us that quote. I understand being slightly off, but when the bill came it was over $2,500!!!!!!!! We figured it was a mistake and called in and were told too bad so sad. When she asked what they could do to help for making such a huge mistake they said they'd take ten percent off if we paid the whole thing in cash right then and there. Great solution. They wouldn't take any responsibility for it saying it was on the insurance company and its the risk we took. We even told them originally when they were looking at the quote and figuring it out that if it's too much to do all of them we would break them up over a couple of visits. To make it worse, my wife was left in pain from the job that was done. My wife went back in to have it looked at and his response was the cavity is too big and she needs a crown. Since she read the reviews in between the visits and talked to some people she refused to let him do anymore work and went elsewhere. That dentist was amazed how bad the job was as the filling she got was so loose it fell right out when the dentist started to work on it. Another filling even fell out within a week from the original visit. She ended up getting a crown to fix it and it was a very cheap fix thanks to our dental coverage. She told the other dentist what happened and they were appalled at how much she was charged and said it shouldn't have been close to that. The situation was so upsetting I had to step in as her even talking to these people would make her break down. They weren't sympathetic at all. I made a few payments as I convinced them to let us pay as we could and asked to get a statement sent every month to keep track. They rarely did and the last one I got was May. Because of this we decided to look into legal options and when we requested a copy of my wife's entire file she was told no problem but then weeks later got a letter saying they weren't going to do it without charging us. I left a message saying I needed it for my lawyer and got nothing back. No more statements. No calls back. Just a letter we recently got from a collection agency. Not only did they ignore us but they sent us to collections. Not my wife, her and I. I'm not even the patient. I hope u can find better service elsewhere from someone honest. I have been seeing J.T. Henley for about ten years. I like him very, very, much. He is personable, patient, friendly, and understanding. He also gives a lot back to the community. I hesitate to rate his office a five because I think there are times when he talks people into having work done that they either don't need, or work that could wait. I hear him talk to other patients when I am there (which is fairly often) and it just seems to me like he is pushing people to get the work done before they've really had a chance to think it through, or to discuss it with the person's wife, husband, family, etc. That said, I like him so, so, much that I would go to him regardless. His prices are lower than many I hear other people quote about their dentists. The main reason I gave a 3 is because it won't be too long before he retires (which I'm freaked out about!). I consider my relationship with my dentist to be of utmost importance and would not ever even consider someone besides J.T. His staff is great and I like them a lot also. He is able to help me when I'm feeling overwhelmed, frightened, angry, etc. He is almost as good as a therapist. Were it not for the hard sale I hear at times, and his retirement coming fairly soon, I would give him and his staff a 5. I honestly don't think I'll ever have as good a dentist as he is. read more
