The cab came promptly with a pleasant driver who knew exactly where to go when we gave him the address of our appointment. We mentioned that we would also need to get picked up when I was done. We were asked to call as the driver said that they try to get to everybody asap. My next stop was to pick up drywall supplies for my renovation. The cab was at our location immediately and off we went across the city to Rona where I found out that I would need several large pails of mudding. The driver was so kind when I asked if we had room for the load and even opened the trunk to assure me that he did! I brought out the pails and he helped to load them and off we went back to the BMW/Mini Cooper shop. My car wasn't quite ready yet so the cab driver helped unload and asked if I needed anymore help. How pleasant to have customer service like that! I've had some great and not so good service and these cab drivers provided excellent service over and beyond! Over the many years I've had with Blue Bird Cabs I've never had one negative experience! Thank you!

There was still a lot of daylight left at 8:15 pm even though it was very cloudy. Everything was organized. The line for our tour was easy enough to find after asking for assistance. We immediately started our walking tour after getting a shuttle bus stamp on the back of our hand for our return trip. It's a very walkable city. Just head to the pedestrian walkway on Dallas Road as you're leaving Ogden Point. It will eventually take you to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a short walk. There are many transportation options including a water taxi. You don't really need it, but it does take longer if you decide to walk to Chinatown. There is a shuttle bus at the port that can be used for a fee. Our return ride was included in the tour. The walking tours leave you in front of Rogers' Chocolates Heritage Store on Government Street. There is a dedicated cruise ship shuttle bus stop at that location. It initially looked like chaos to me at 11:00 pm at night. There were 4 ships in port, and everyone's departure time was somewhere around 11:59 pm. WTF! The line was wrapped around the building. A little over a block long. Our guide said not to worry as it moves quickly. She was right. The shuttles are these huge high-capacity double-decker BC transport buses. As one pulled out, there was another one close behind it. We only waited about 15 minutes to board the next one. I think the only thing I didn't care for was being on a full bus with every single seat taken. There must have been about 100 people on it. I'm not exaggerating. Call an Uber if you're a germaphobe. Either way, they were efficient in getting all the passengers to the port on time. Everything else went smoothly after that. It was definitely a Bliss-ful (an intentional pun of the ship name) evening for us. Despite the dramatic story of rushing to the cruise ship in the end. I'd probably do it all again. Lol!

A 30 minute walk best case scenario is not what I would consider a short walk. While there some individual options, the primary recommendation was a round trip shuttle for $15 per person on double decker buses. When we had to wait for a "shuttle" shortly after arriving at the port, we should have realized that they didn't have enough shuttles running to accommodate the number of people from the cruise ships. Despite arriving at the return stop well before the recommended return time we had to wait in a long line of other cruisers for well over 45 minutes before finally starting our return. This added a significant amount of stress because we were nearing the "gangplank up" time for our ship. After arriving back at the dock there was another very long line of returning passengers. Multiple additional lines were opened at security to help accommodate the hundreds of late arrivals trying to return to their ship. As we were finally reboarding I overheard a crew member saying that one of the excursions had not made it back yet either. While we enjoyed our short time in Victoria, the extended wait and concern for the return trip made it a less enjoyable experience overall.

May.27 my work booked a wine tour through Regent Limousine for two of our 30yr retirement friends/co-workers. Tour included 3 wineries and lunch at the second location. Tastings were $5-10 which some places wouldn't charge if you bought wine and each person would pay for their lunches. We each paid our amount for just the bus trip/tour and prepared to pay for our extra's. So. . .. when we got to the first winery they were completely surprised and shocked to see 21 people ready to do tastings. Apparently we were not booked at all. Our poor driver scramble to make contact with his company and to sort it all out. Now the very busy winery had to divide our group to be able to do a tasting, which took a lot longer since they already had another group before us. Of course this puts us behind and our next tour was to include lunch, which again was not booked. Our driver then informed us they have arranged a wonderful lunch at the end of our tastings at the Malahat Chalet. Not one winery had our party booked, and our 10:30-4:30 tour was behind and we arrived for lunch at 3:30. At the restaurant there was a set menu and our office manager asked if this was being paid for by Regent to make up for the mix up with our tour. We were told if we ordered from the set menu it would be paid for, if we ordered from their regular menu it would be the cost for that person. So we were thankful for the good gesture to cover lunch for our tour mishap, until my office manager was later changed for every single lunch, $30 per meal. When she set an email to the company they claim they did not say they were going to pay for it and they didn't charge her for the extra hour it took to get us back to Victoria. I find this completely misleading and a complete let down to such a wonder celebration of our great friends retirement. " As we did not have a reservation for your group on that very busy day and in order to accommodate you on the spot,, I had to split your group up for the tasting, which I normally would not have done, and the tasting was a bit more abbreviated than I usually do. Vigneti Zanatta "It was unfortunate that Regent didn't make the appropriate reservations for your large group on the 27th and I was pleased to hear that Shannon was able to accommodate your group of twenty" 'Unfortunately, the tour was not booked with us ahead of time and we were unaware of your visit which makes it hard on us to give you the proper tasting and time with a Blue Grouse team member. We were thinking it would be in a large bus with 40-50 other people and I was not excited about it, and we were surprised the next day when Coleen met us in her small party type bus that only seats about fourteen people. There were only four of us and it felt like we were going out for the day with friends. Coleen was very personable and informative, and with only four of us it felt like we were going out with friends for the day. We don't think it was just because of our small group but how Coleen just seems to be. It turned out to be more than just a winery tour as she pointed out various sights and places of interest. We only went to two wineries and an apple cider farm because of the time of year. Coleen appeared to have a good relationship with the wineries that made it more personable. We had a great lunch that was included in the price. Actually, I am not even a wine drinker but I really enjoyed the entire day because it was more than just tasting wine. We started at the boat terminal but she dropped us all off at our hotels. We had planned to go to Bucthart Gardens the next night and were going to take the typical large bus with 40-50 people, like we had done before, and found out that Coleen also runs tours to the Gardens. We decided to go with her and she picked us up at our hotel and again, there were only four of us. The cost was the same as with the large bus tour, but so much more enjoyable since she takes the back roads with less traffic and also get into places easier because of the small van. Victoria is one of our favorite the places to go and finding Island Times Tours has been a great and we will surely use them again.

Jason was difficult to…read moreget a hold of throughout the planning process - we spent months emailing asking to confirm details and asking to sign a contract (he never did). We were always a bit worried about how things would go. The week of our wedding Jason increased the prices on us and demanded 100% up front payment, even though previously we had agreed to 50% deposit, 50% on delivery of services. This caused a lot of stress and more worry. The day that all of our guests were arriving from all over the world for our destination wedding, we were dealing with Jason's rude emails and demands for more payment before he would show up. On the day of the wedding, Garden City sent only two buses instead of three as agreed. The result was that the bridal party was stranded for an hour, since we weren't picked up by our own bus as arranged but rather a bus that had to first take all the guests to the venue then turn around and come back for us. This caused our wedding to start one hour late. Given that we only had a 6 hour long event, this led to lots of last minute changes, chaos and stress for us, our family and friends who had traveled from around the world to be there. We found out later from our guests that the drivers (Jason drove himself plus one other person) made unprofessional comments and that guests felt unsafe during the journey because they packed the buses so full to make up for the shortage of driver and buses. Our guests were standing up and packed together tightly on a bumpy bus ride for the 30 minutes back from the wedding to the hotel in downtown Victoria. After the wedding we learned more details and realized the full extent of the issues caused by Garden City. We asked for our money back. Jason denied any responsibility for the issues saying the bus that never showed up to transport the bridal party was "stuck in traffic". If they had just told us they couldn't manage a third bus and driver we could have arranged to take taxis and then I could have been on time to my own wedding. Jason actually suggested calling a taxi instead of waiting for him to return and pick us up - unfortunately that suggestion was made when we were already 30 minutes late to the wedding. If you are planning an event and need reliable transportation, run the other way.

Not sure how that works cause I don't think the driver can take money, but it's a nice touch. A great service for avid hikers who need a ride back to their cars or didn't have one to begin with. I am a HUGE fan of accessible yet still "wilderness" hiking. Price: 3 stars. A weeeee bit steep if you ask me considering the bus from downtown Victoria to downtown Van (and including ferry) was under $45. Smell: MINUS 5. Wow.
