Anybody looking for a responsible and caring person to take care of their dogs should seriously…read moreconsider working with Shelby. My wife and I was looking for someone to take care of our 2 kids, a Siberian Husky and a Maltese, and have them join us for our wedding ceremony and Shelby from Keeping Up with Jack was the ONLY person who was willing to do that. We met Shelby to discuss the general flow, what we wanted and how she could help us. She also attended our wedding rehearsal to get to know the venue. I could thank Shelby enough for doing this for us because being able to have our 2 dogs joining us on our wedding day was simply priceless! While we were trying to take photos with our dogs after the ceremony, they were distracted by all the people around them and were not looking at the camera. Shelby improvised and got them to pay attention to her while she was standing behind our photographer. That got us some wonderful shots with our 2 dogs. If you want a responsible, caring, trustworthy person to take care of your dogs you should definitely go with Shelby!

Both our young dogs have benefited…read morefrom Nitro's level 1 and 2 classes, and so it's very easy to recommend Nitro if you're looking for a trainer. It is worth acknowledging that Nitro makes use of prong and e-collars in their training method, and if you have concerns about these tools, I am happy to report there's nothing to be concerned about. I have witnessed my dog gaze up lovingly and with attention at Steve while under his guidance on a prong collar; you could feel the genuine connection between trainer and dog. This kind of experience was enough for me to put any concerns I had aside and welcome the training. It's also worth noting that Steve himself can be a bit of a personality, unafraid to speak his mind and get into a range of discussion topics. Underneath the personality is a genuine human, who wants nothing more than for dogs to receive the training that will most help them get along inside the home and the world. Thanks, Steve and Nitro K9 for your help with our dogs!

After suddenly losing one of our dogs in October 2025, our 10 yo Doberman was so heartbroken. He…read morebecame critically ill, resulting in over $5,000 in emergency vet bills and little improvement. We swore to no more dogs but then we saw Mia, a 9-month-old, Doberman puppy found on the street in LA by animal control. Her leg was degloved, necrotic and filled with maggots. She was intercepted by a rehab, received amputation and much needed medical attention. We followed her story for a couple months, hoping she would find a home, but she didn't. Somehow, we caved, did the unthinkable and flew to Los Angeles, scooping her up and driving her back to Washington in a rental car mid-winter. She was terrified, ferrell and full of dominant "spicy" energy so we booked an appointment with one of the top positive-treat-based trainers with reactive-dog expertise in the state, to help us introduce our dogs upon return and it was a disaster. Our senior exploded in pure terror, barking and lunging. She tossed treats; they ignored her. Twenty minutes in she shrugged, said she had "no magic wand," sent us home and refunded half our session. 2 days later she emailed us suggesting we rehome Mia to a foster "for our safety" which felt like a slap in the face. The very next day we thoroughly researched every trainer in Washington, and Nitro K-9 stood head and shoulders above the rest. I emailed Steve and he called back within minutes with genuine understanding, zero judgment, got us in within days and made our 2-hour commute in separate cars well worth it. In the first ten minutes Steve had both dogs calmly obeying, walking together on leash, and listening! He instantly saw what the other trainer missed: our senior was fear-reactive, meaning he was scared. Steve and North have taught us clear communication and connection with our dogs. They've taught us how to properly command quick correction and full attention using high-quality prong collars, like a mother dog's natural nips. No pain, no fear, no endless treats or bribes, just genuine praise, affection, and connection, the way real bonds and parenting work. He showed us how to step into calm leadership so our dogs could relax, trust, and stop carrying the burden themselves. He stayed by our side through every panicked text, every "what now?" and our dog's transformation is nothing short of miraculous. Mia is happy, confident and loves her big brother now. Our senior knows his role and is playing with her like a puppy again. They love each other and actually enjoy being together! If you're a reactive, rescue, fearful or high-drive dog parent, have been let down by "treat-motivated training" and have avoided prong collars because of the myths, you have been misinformed like we were. Don't give up, stop scrolling and call Nitro, I promise you won't regret it! IWe are forever grateful!

Carrie, owner of Feline Friends & Dog Walk Savvy has cared for my parent's dog Sadie many times…read moreover the last year. Carrie is extremely professional, trustworthy, and kind. It can be a gamble when giving someone access to your home. Asking that person to take care of your family (pets) brings it up a notch. Carrie immediately won my parents over (not an easy feat) with her bubbly personality and clear passion for animals. We use Carrie's services when my parents travel. I am the go-to overnight pet-sitter for them but due to my long, unpredictable work hours, Carrie will come over 1-2 times daily to walk and feed Sadie. Carrie does not charge extra when my dog Bentley is there and takes him along on walks. Each visit Carrie leaves an adorable note on the counter with a recap. My parents dog (Sadie) is extremely fearful due to an abusive past owner. Carrie has won her over with patience and treats. This note is one of my favorites from Carrie: Sadie did excellent on our walks!! She and Bentley were so happy to see me each time I came. In fact, they never even barked at me (Not even on my first visit). We had a few beautiful sunny days which the dogs loved. Twice we went to the park. It was such a pleasure walking Sadie (and Bentley). The three of us became good pals. She is a great dog! I hope you had a nice trip and I hope to see Sadie again soon. :) Thanks, Carrie I strongly recommend Carrie/Feline Friends & Dog Walk Savvy for your pets. Nothing but the best!

I set out all my plants that needed water on the main kitchen counter, along with a bottle to water them. I have smart devices and a few strategically placed indoor cameras (about which I made him aware), and when I was notified that the water level on the fountain was low I messaged him and asked him to refill it. He refilled it, but put it back on the stand and didn't even check to see if it was working. It wasn't. I was in a different country with a significant time change, so when I next checked my device notifications and camera I discovered my cat had no source of water. I contacted him immediately to make him aware of the issue, but as his visits were typically later in the day I reached out to a neighbor and asked them to go over and provide a bowl of water for my cat in the meantime. Thankfully she did, and she indicated my cat was very thirsty. Despite providing directions about the fountains and some additional prompting, Ray was unable to figure out how to work the fountain. I asked him to ensure that he left out a bowl of water for the cat, which he did. I have no idea if he actually saw the cat, or if he had any level of interaction with her on his visits. I didn't specifically ask him for this info or pictures prior to using him, but as all other cat sitters I had previously used did so without prompting, I (mistakenly) expected this. He also failed to water my plants and two of them died. This was minimal compared to leaving my cat without water, and not knowing whether or not he even saw her (other than one time he mentioned she came out to see him on one of his visits).

Under his care, my cat died…read more I'll never go into details about how my cat passed because no one should/needs to have that knowledge. However, it was due to Ray not physically getting his eyeballs on the cats every single day. Cats aren't house plants. You have to make sure they're not up to something. You don't just feed and water and leave. Especially when the cat mom leaves SEVEN PAGES of instructions on how they needed to be separated while they ate so that one could take his pill and if he didn't then you could use the pill popper provided to put it down his throat. But that's not what happened. I guess my notes were taken as suggestions. On the last day when the vet thinks he passed, I received a text from him saying: "Dear (me), Another uneventful visit. Your children are going to be so happy that you're back home. Left your FOB on the kitchen counter. - Ray." Nowhere in that text does it say I couldn't find them so I just left. I don't really know what else I can do at this point other than warn other pet owners. Yes, I know he didn't mean to have this happen but it did. And I think when it comes to your pets life so you shouldn't take any risks. This shouldn't have to happen to any other pet owner out there. I'm notifying all the organizations that he lists on his website too. He did refund fully and returned my key. He was also an incredibly nice person. That aside, nothing will bring my cat back but I pray this doesn't happen with anyone else.
