When I saw Steve Methner Insurance rated at 1.5 stars I just had to figure out what was going on…read more I have never had anything less than 5 star service from them. Then I realized that: A. It's Yelp, B. there were only two reviews, C. One of the two reviews had nothing to do with the business of insurance and D. Yelp does not curate reviews deliberately so they can extort businesses to pay them to "fix" their rating. The staff is very, very knowledgeable and pleasant. Amazingly so. To the degree that I actually asked Steve once how he attracted and kept such top notch people. If things get complex, and you need more authoritative help, Steve will help you himself...and he is very knowledgeable. More on that below. And please keep in mind, that an agent that gives you bad news is not a bad agent...he's a good one. I personally have asked for insurance on things that State Farm just does not cover on more than one occasion. That's not Steve's fault - State Farm is a great company that keeps it's rates low by taking smart risks. In my case, Steve told me that State Farm could not help me and gave me names of other insurance agencies that might be able to cover me. I took his advice and am very happy with the coverage I receive through his recommendation. I will still always run everything I can through State Farm, but I realize that they don't cover everything. The two negative reviews that currently exist are pretty funny taken together. One of the reviews is complaining that Steve is too involved in local politics while the other other one is complaining that he won't join the Chamber of Commerce. Steve is definitely involved in the local community. You see his name pop up everywhere. His customers are the beneficiaries of all of his connections and experiences and everyone else in the community benefits from his service. I love doing business with businesses like this one.

We have Safeco insurance on multiple rentals, our home, two vehicles. Plus an umbrella policy. Over the past 18 months, we have been selling the rentals and she has unfailingly sent us the correct form to cancel our policy and promptly processed it. Ditto auto insurance. At one point, I wanted to see if we could get better coverage and contacted State Farm, Allstate, etc. through other agencies. That's where Maggie's service really shone. Responsive, accurate. We stayed with Safeco. Last year we moved into one of our rentals and sold our old residence, requiring a policy to be changed from landlord to homeowner. I, a genuine insurance dummy, got confused about all the refunds and Bal Due statements. Maggie hung in there and patiently explained what she had to do to align all our policy terms to end on the same date, again to help this dense policyholder. We've had contact with other agents at the PT office but Maggie is the one to help you. Highly recommend her!
