Love the honesty!!! As you can see, I have terrible wrinkles under my eyes and watched lots of YouTube videos in HOPES of finding a way to eradicate them but, to my sad surprise, Dr. Lee told me that the ONLY thing that would work for what I have is surgery! I was devastated but, I appreciate honesty like that and now I just have to decide if I want to have surgery to really remove them completely or just live with how I look now and start using a different skin care regimen (Obagi). I've had Dr. Lee for both acupuncture and surgery. He and his staff deserve five stars for both. He's one of those specialists you wish could be your primary care physician because you feel comfortable with him and safe in his hands, while being impressed with his knowledge, integrity and professionalism (and sense of humor, which I enjoy). I tried acupuncture for a long-term sinus condition as well as a shorter-term issue with stress build-up in my shoulder blade area. While it didn't work much for the former, it definitely made a difference with the latter. Dr. Lee explained both the science and procedure to me and took all the time I needed to answer every question, no matter how inconsequential or naive. The procedure was painless and relaxing (in a very soothing environment) as well as physically cathartic--I could actually feel the too-tense muscle gripping the acupuncture needles and then releasing the kinetic stress energy and relaxing itself. When I first met Dr. Lee several years ago, it was for a hernia operation. He explained everything I needed/wanted to know, with supporting visuals, answered all my queries and put my mind at ease, both in the office as well as before--and after--the surgery. Post-surgery service was/is every bit as important to me, and Calvin and his staff always responded with whatever I needed. He walks the fine line between being confident in his abilities and skills, yet humble enough to admit he doesn't know something or thinks another doctor would be better for your procedure. That's integrity. Making appointments was never an issue and instead of a convoluted/annoying voice-activated or endless button-pushing automated phone-answering system, Dr. Lee's staff always answer calls unless they're at lunch or busy with other patients, in which case it's easy to leave a message and have my call returned as soon as possible. (Also, he and they are native English-speakers so they're easy to understand. Spanish is also available.) As others note, Calvin is quite active in the community, having co-founded and sponsored the Modest Marathon and other endeavors, so he puts his time, money and energy where his practice is. I believe in acupuncture and I believe in Dr. Lee! I started seeing Dr. Lee for chronic sinusitis in June of 2015. I HAVE NOT BEEN ON ANTIBIOTICS FOR A YEAR. Before that, I struggled with sinus problems for over 40 years. I was constantly ill, taking antibiotics, prednisone, medication for pain, and I had rhinoplasty surgery when I was 23 years old. Dr. Lee let me know from the first appointment that acupuncture does not work for everyone. Luckily, it worked for me and it has made a major change in my life. Dr. Lee is a caring, honest, funny, and giving person. He has given back to the Modesto community in several ways but most noticeable by funding the Modesto Marathon where he will be missed. Dr. Lee does not accept insurance;however, the cost is compatible to seeing your regular health care doctor when you factor in copayment and medicine costs (which I no longer have). I have only positive things to say about Dr Calvin Lee, his staff, and the results I've gotten from my treatments. The office is immaculate, sanitary every inch of the building. Last month I received a treatment (botox) for my forehead, not only did it smooth out lines but the best benefit of all was that I have not been getting headaches. A few months ago I saw a commercial about botox on foreheads for headache relief and it intrigued me to research it more. It was such a relief finding something that works for me, I was getting headaches so frequently from work stress, lack of sleep, driving, not drinking coffee or tea that day, menstrual, etc. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Nathalie (Dr Lee's assistant) is very helpful and comforting during the treatments as she helps reduce the pain by using tapping techniques. Dr Lee does an amazing job. I am so thankful I found this office and I will continue to receive treatments here. Today I received a small treatment on my chin of botox in hopes it will help reduce my painful cystic acne (upon my own research botox has been known to help with it). I received the treatment 12 hours ago and my skin in that area has already smoothed out. I went in almost two weeks ago to get lip fillers with Dr. Lee. I was so nervous about getting them done as I've heard so many horror stories from people about how painful the procedure was.
