All of the levels and common areas had an abundance of space and tall ceilings! The stairs and elevators were close together and easy to navigate. The Children's Library on the downstairs level was adorable! It brandished childrens' artwork, play tables and many other fun ideas. We ventured through each level and then made our way to the rooftop which had a lot of seating and spectacular views of downtown SLC and its surroundings. The weather was perfect to stay up there and chat for an hour. We also visited the Library Bees- we didn't expect to find Langstroth hives inside a library. This is the coolest library I've been to in the US. If you love books and libraries this is a can't miss experience.

It's modern in that clean, beautiful way where you suddenly feel like a better person just by walking inside. I had time before the show started, so I wandered around pretending I had my life together, which honestly was very believable in that lighting. The staff was so sweet and genuinely helpful. Like not just "here's your answer" helpful, but "I love my job and also hope you have a great day" helpful. Rare and deeply appreciated. There are big windows everywhere, comfy seats, little pockets of calm where you can read, think, or journal about how magical the place is. I would come here even without a performance, just to sit and pretend I'm writing my novel or about to run into someone who's about to change my life. Also, yes, there's a rooftop patio, and yes, it's as dreamy as it sounds. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time, probably with a lavender tea, trying not to romanticize everything but definitely failing.

I was looking to plan a meeting and as a card carrying member, I remembered that they let you book rooms here for free with your library account. We grabbed one of the study rooms, booked it out several days in advance, and had a really productive time. You can only book two hour blocks total, but how handy is that? The library itself is beautiful inside and out, with stories worth of stories (see what I did there?). The room we were in was on the second story, but now that they're building that massive structure to the north, the northerly views are obstructed. Still, that second story has an outdoor deck area that looks like it would amazing in better weather. Kudos to SLC Library for planting this in the up-and-coming Marmalade District and making it a fixture for years to come.

It was large and spacious, very clean, and plenty of chairs. There also appeared to be an overhead projector available. The library is small but has all the basics and the staff is super helpful. They have a decent sized kids section. If you follow your google maps GPS to get here just know there is little to no parking along highland. It's better to park in the shopping center parking lot, which is where the library front doors face anyway.

I love that we can download e-books and periodicals online too. I was very impressed with the South Jordan Branch Library. it is part of a much larger county organization and we can enjoy books and other entertainment from all community branches. Not only does it have extensive resources and events, but it is beautifully decorated as you can see by the pictures below. Staff are knowledgeable and courteous, and we enjoyed browsing through music, book, and even DVDs. An extensive calendar of events is also available for the community to take advantage of. If you haven't gotten your library cards, go to any local branch and they will have you ready in under five minutes. Just bring a form of ID and proof of residency, like a utility bill. They said even my four-year-old granddaughter can get a card with an adult. Stop by soon and let me know what you think!

I walked in with headphones on, made my way through an air conditioned, peaceful oasis, that was clean, quiet, and open. No one talked to me or asked me for anything. I sat in a comfortable chair, charged my phone, watched a show on my laptop, sent some emails, and went on my way. Weird to feel totally at home surrounded by strangers in a place I've never been. The interior was modern with a computer lab on the first floor. Spent a lot of time here for projects and homework. Now it seems more cozy and even a better place to study, though that lab is gone I see. Perhaps a change of the times given the laptop/mobile/Internet world we live in. Still the printed word holds academic resonance and Marriott is the place to gather that material.

Every section feels thoughtfully curated into vintage, used, new, special editions. There is truly something for everyone. I instantly fell in love. How appropriate right?! We had a private reserved room for our discussion and could see the bookshelves through the glass wall. It was perfect! This library, as I'm sure many do, had a section for children, teens and adults. That makes it nice for people to browse age-appropriate books and maybe make some friends while they are here.
