Holds from other branches vary in the time they take to show up, but if it's available at the time you reserve it, it doesn't take but 48-72 hours to show up at Herriman's branch. Most of the libraries are phenomenal - super helpful, personable, and knowledgable. There are one or two I've encountered who are super quick to add fees to your library account (like when I pointed out a children's book had damage that we didn't do, she tried to charge me for the book) but they're the rare exception. We loved all the precautionary measures this branch did during COVID to make patrons feel safer. It was like Christmas when they opened up curbside pickup during COVID and like coming home when they opened their doors again. We love our public library!

When I was growing up all my local library had was books! My how things change. When you walk into the new and improved library you are welcomed by the library staff which then opens to a huge open space with big bright windows. Not the small cramped dark library of yesterday... Classes are also available and change monthly along with author book readings. Actually they is so much to enjoy I can't put it all in a review. Go check it out for yourself. It's open. One last thing, this branch (like West Jordan's) has the automatic check in so you don't have to wait for someone to check in your items, especially if they are due that day.

It's modern in that clean, beautiful way where you suddenly feel like a better person just by walking inside. I had time before the show started, so I wandered around pretending I had my life together, which honestly was very believable in that lighting. The staff was so sweet and genuinely helpful. Like not just "here's your answer" helpful, but "I love my job and also hope you have a great day" helpful. Rare and deeply appreciated. There are big windows everywhere, comfy seats, little pockets of calm where you can read, think, or journal about how magical the place is. I would come here even without a performance, just to sit and pretend I'm writing my novel or about to run into someone who's about to change my life. Also, yes, there's a rooftop patio, and yes, it's as dreamy as it sounds. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time, probably with a lavender tea, trying not to romanticize everything but definitely failing.

There isn't a huge selection of books, but those they have on hand seem designed to catch the essence of their respective categories. There are thousands of DVDs, way more than I'd expect. If they don't have something here, there's an online reservation system between libraries. Even at 54th in line for a TV series I still got it within a couple months. There is a very small play area for kids and tons of kids books. There's also a teen room, study room and conference room. The men's bathroom is of the single serve variety and there's a changing station in there. Love this little library. I look forward to making it a regular stop on walks through the neighborhood, and taking in shows like magic, story-time and puppetry for Jr.

At least twice a month there is a teen activity, and also a family night activity like Legos or a movie. First of all Starbucks is 3 dollars on average more expensive for a coffee than the marketplace, this is especially important for college kids who are studying all the time and need some caffeine and they don't have time to work all time so they are broke. Not to mention the food is wayyyy cheaper and affordable, especially for a small snack. NO one wants a 10 dollar 1 square inch breakfast sandwhice. bullshit. Second, the marketplace is quick! it took me about 5 min to walk down to the marketplace from anywhere, get what I want, and be drinking my coffee with a snack in my hand heading back to actual important shit. Starbucks has this stupid mobile order, so not only if you walk up and order something that will take 10 min to get on its own, theres 20 fucking people in front of you with orders of their own. I walked up to a nice lady and asked how long she had been waiting and she had said half an hour and still counting and she mobile ordered.might as well just fucking DoorDash a coffee. It kind of had a venerable look when I attended the school more than a half decade ago. It now looks like it has caught up with the times. The interior was modern with a computer lab on the first floor. Spent a lot of time here for projects and homework. Now it seems more cozy and even a better place to study, though that lab is gone I see. Perhaps a change of the times given the laptop/mobile/Internet world we live in. Still the printed word holds academic resonance and Marriott is the place to gather that material.
