I love that we can download e-books and periodicals online too. I was very impressed with the South Jordan Branch Library. it is part of a much larger county organization and we can enjoy books and other entertainment from all community branches. Not only does it have extensive resources and events, but it is beautifully decorated as you can see by the pictures below. Staff are knowledgeable and courteous, and we enjoyed browsing through music, book, and even DVDs. An extensive calendar of events is also available for the community to take advantage of. If you haven't gotten your library cards, go to any local branch and they will have you ready in under five minutes. Just bring a form of ID and proof of residency, like a utility bill. They said even my four-year-old granddaughter can get a card with an adult. Stop by soon and let me know what you think!

I…read morehaven't figured out their "speciality" yet, but it's easy enough to reserve materials and have them brought to this branch. Holds from other branches vary in the time they take to show up, but if it's available at the time you reserve it, it doesn't take but 48-72 hours to show up at Herriman's branch. Most of the libraries are phenomenal - super helpful, personable, and knowledgable. There are one or two I've encountered who are super quick to add fees to your library account (like when I pointed out a children's book had damage that we didn't do, she tried to charge me for the book) but they're the rare exception. We loved all the precautionary measures this branch did during COVID to make patrons feel safer. It was like Christmas when they opened up curbside pickup during COVID and like coming home when they opened their doors again. We love our public library!

When you walk into the new and improved library you are welcomed by the library staff which then opens to a huge open space with big bright windows. Not the small cramped dark library of yesterday... One last thing, this branch (like West Jordan's) has the automatic check in so you don't have to wait for someone to check in your items, especially if they are due that day.

In typical fashion, they provide much more than just books. There's a community bulletin board at the entrance-I love to explore those; they give such a sense of what's going on locally. It was also autumn season and the library was giving away a roll of leaf bags-one per family. What a neat service! The vibe is energetic, but quiet-just like a library should be. Not dead, but a place where people can study, concentrate or quietly mingle. Plenty of seating as well as meeting rooms where groups can gather, such as the book club I attended. I don't love the parking lot situation. The drive up to return books crosses with the main traffic and there's no clear place for pedestrians. When there are a lot of visitors, it makes for a confusing intersection, and possibly dangerous. Otherwise, it's a lovely place to curl up with a book and enjoy!

One of my favorite memories from when I was younger was seeing the adorable hamsters they kept in a small enclosure near the kids' area. Sometimes they would even let the hamsters explore the library in little hamster balls, which was always fun to watch. The library does an amazing job creating a space for children. They regularly host fun events and activities, and although the play area isn't huge, it's a place where so many great memories are made. There are also tables set up for kids to read, draw, and work on crafts. I used to spend so much time playing there after walking to the library with my grandma. Eventually we stopped going, but now that I'm a little older I've started coming back on my own. It's become one of my favorite places to relax. Normally I don't enjoy reading very much, but there's something about the quiet, comfortable atmosphere here that actually makes me want to pick up a book. They also have a quiet study room, which has been a huge help with school whenever I need a peaceful place to focus. This library has been a part of my life for years, and I'm grateful to have such an amazing place in the community. Whether you're looking for a good book, a quiet place to study, or somewhere to bring your kids, I couldn't recommend it more. It truly deserves five stars.

There's so much wonder and awe packed into those places and regardless of which library I visit, I feel the same feeling. I stopped by this one for an event-a community book club. How appropriate right?! We had a private reserved room for our discussion and could see the bookshelves through the glass wall. It was perfect! This library, as I'm sure many do, had a section for children, teens and adults. That makes it nice for people to browse age-appropriate books and maybe make some friends while they are here.

One can check out telescopes, use 3D printers, get personal meeting rooms and more. Today, or perhaps it's just this particular library, there are so many kids running around, crying babies, and so much noise! It almost felt like I was at Walmart without the groceries! Depending on who you ask for help, but most just sit around and point you to places without giving proper direction or information. I don't know his name, but he was the only man working there and practically gave me a mini tour of the place! Not only can you borrow books, you can borrow DVDs, CDs, and play online games on the computer. Oh yea, the guy also showed me how to check out! Remember I told you it's been years? Well now you stack your books/DVDs/CDs and the scanner will read all the barcodes at once. Mind. Blown. Hahaha. When you do come in here to get a library card, make sure you bring a photo ID and proof of your current address to get registered. I got a temporary card so I can only borrow up to 3 items and return them within 21 days. You can print out a receipt for a reminder to return them.

Pick up on Wednesday and drop back on Tuesday. Saved $75.00 and we used it for 4 state parks. Like Goblin Valley, Green River State Park, Dead horse point and Jordanelle reservoir to name a few . One library perk I won't complain about. FYI one time use a year. Two thing about turning the pass back in; every day its late its $10 bucks and you have to turn it in person, no drop box.
