This cafe is spotless and offers a great selection of fresh bakery items and full meals. With plenty of seating for large groups, it's an ideal spot to hang out with friends. The lack of ambient music made it awkwardly silent with just the distant noise of coffee machines. The wait time for a beverage (frappe and smoothie) was a little longer than you would expect, probably felt longer because of the silence, but the wait was worth it. The smoothie was fresh and refreshing and the frappe was above average. Pricing is a little high but definitely worth it for a clean simple cafe option.

I absolutely love the owner Christine!!! She is super sweet and always goes out of her way to be kind. She gave me a free cupcake and checked on me regularly. The food is beautifully served and tastes amazing! The store's atmosphere is such a vibe. I would totally come here to do schoolwork, assignments, or if I just needed to study. She played Christian music the whole time which I love and is totally refreshing. No one ever plays Christian music. Which makes me wanna come here just for that. Her hibiscus tea, which she makes herself is also fantastic. It's a must-try. I always get her turkey croissant and it's so beautiful and tastes amazing.

I have found a new favorite place to eat. It's in franklin, if all places. The owner is very friendly and helpful, because this was my first time there. With construction going on in the front of the building, I had to park in the back. But the walk was worth it. I ordered hibiscus tea, pepper chicken with spinach rice, tuna salad croissant sandwich and red beans and rice. Everything tasted fresh, the chicken had just the right amount of heat. The tea is so refreshing. I enjoyed the food. The prices are reasonable, the interior is nice and clean. Forget the construction, go check it out

Incredible customer service. I'm in Texas and needed to send a family friend a care package. The baked goods looked amazing but the store didn't offer delivery on the website. Doordash, Uber Eats weren't options. I called and asked the owner if there was any way to make a delivery happen. She offered to do it herself. The recipient was so happy with the baked goods, and I was so happy all the way from Texas! Thank you, Calypso!

My daughter and I finally made it to Calypso today after following them on Facebook since they opened. Wish we had made it there sooner! Their pastry selection was incredible. We ended up trying the cronut and the pumpkin roll (not pictured), as well as their broccoli cheddar soup and a mango pineapple smoothie. Everything was delicious! Next time I want to try the chicken salad croissant.

Sorrel on the menu in Franklin!!

Located in Franklin, this place was a hidden gem. Me and my wife were headed to Zinks meat market and were looking up pastrami sandwich restaurants. It was National hot pastrami day and we like doing things like that. She mentioned that Calypso Cafe and Bakery was right around the corner. She had found it on the Facebook Cincinnati Chowdown page for pastrami sandwich recommendations. This place is amazing. Wanting a hot pastrami sandwich, we also got a Jamaican beef patty, and curry chickpeas. Not at all what I was expecting. The sandwich was fantastic. The chickpeas were fantastic. The beef patty was fantastic. They also have sorrel which is a hibiscus drink. It was very tasty. My wyalso got a brownie cookie thing which was really good. Their menu is very Caribbean which isn't something you'd expect in downtown Franklin. So glad we stopped in. Its definitely not a secret gem anymore and I'll definitely return. Have to try their jerk chicken salad, and their jerk chicken entree. Oh yeah, and beans and rice.

Homemade cupcakes. Heart shaped sugar cookies and the best butter cookie I have ever tasted.

Best fresh, homemade cookies, cupcakes, pastries. Everything I have ordered has been fantastic. Very clean restaurant and the sweetest owner..Highly recommended.

One of a kind!! The food is so good unlike any other you'll shred a tear or two. The owner is a very sweet down to earth woman. Authentic Food from Trinidad. The ambience is very clean and cozy.

It was really a perfect epitome of cafe. Plenty of coffee and tea options and delightful menus for breakfast and lunch. I often pass here on a Sunday which is one of their closed days (sad me) so when I was around on the odd Saturday I had to stop for an iced Americano. I requested it with just a splash of cream but it came out a little too white - I said nothing, but Michelle, the proprietress, spoke up that she had let a little too much cream pour, and would I like her to add another shot of espresso? Talk about customer service! The drink was excellent. She was so friendly and welcoming too, and said they were working on possible Sunday hours. This place was made for a Sunday! Usually when I don't do the full experience (e.g. I didn't order any food) I go with four stars to be safe. But, far be it from me to snap their streak! I have a really strong feeling the food is great and looking forward to trying it a.s a.p. so based on beverage, atmosphere, and service, five stars it is.
