Everything was wonderful! Quick and simple check-in process (we arrived early and were able to access our 3 bedroom right away!). Parking passes and pool wristbands given at check-in. The 3 bedroom/2 bathroom was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen. Having a full size washer/dryer in the unit was a game changer! Lots of time at the pools so being able to dry towels and cover ups was a huge bonus. Also washing all dirty clothes prior to driving home was awesome!! If you're a daily coffee drinker, bring your own coffee and filters. There is a traditional coffee maker in the unit. The on-site Starbucks is okay but pricey. (2 black coffees $10) FYI : Super Walmart is only a 3 minute drive and also has a liquor store! Location is great. Easy drive to theme parks and Disney Springs. Pools are clean and warm. *I do wish there was a playground for burning off early morning toddler energy!* Pools don't open until 10am. Staff is fantastic! The first time we came here the room was perfect and clean. And the pools are fun and friendly as always. The second time around however we got a room that smelled like pure wet mop, told the front desk and told us there was nothing they can do but air the room out?? Couldn't even transfer us to a different room. Aside from that the service here is actually good, this is an enjoyable hotel and the bar by the pool has the best food and drinks. They have mini golf and zip lines, and the Starbucks by the opposite pool is the best! And so was the girl working there. read more

THE LAST PLACE YOU WANT TO STAY IF YOU WANT A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP AFTER DISNEY ALL DAY! Booked the 3 bedroom suite... To begin with all the parking was directly in front of ALL the rooms so every cars lock/unlock beep is now your problem. The room above us was INSANELY LOUD two nights. I legit thought they had housekeeping cleaning it - sounded like moving furniture and suitcases rolling across the floor from 11p-8a BOTH NIGHTS; and every door squeaks which you hear from everybody in your room and above/below... I called the front desk TWICE the first night and they said they'd send security but nothing changed. We went to the office the next day and asked to be changed. The desk lady was rude and condescending and said they had no available rooms and that there was no complaints from the night before on record (see photo proof). Besides that room was surface clean - meaning floors were vacuumed and tables wiped "good enough". There was black hair all over bathroom floor and we are all blondes. There was what appeared to be dried blood stains in front of the toilet. Rusty dirt floor boards all over and bathroom tile moldy and tub drained slow. Provided only one pack of coffee, no filters, one tiny shampoo for 6 people. If you want housekeeping it was $80. Wouldn't dream of staying there again. read more

My family and I stayed for 3 nights, and there was more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable. Unfortunately, was raining the whole time. But I did use the gym and was able to get a decent workout in. The downside was that because of a window that was left open before arriving. We had some issues with mosquitoes, a moth, and some silver fish. This resort needs some serious renovations. I just recently stayed there, and I must say I'm not at all interested in staying there again. The place was noisy, elevator was extremely slow, there was no room service provided, no security, when it rained the walkways leading to all rooms were flooded, with debris all over the sidewalks. Additionally, the gym was in another building, which you had to drive to because of the extreme heat. To top it off, water was leaking from room above me and started coming down like a waterfall through the light fixture. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone who may be looking for a relaxing vacation. read more

Honestly so surprised by all the poor reviews because we had a fantastic trip and were surprised at how big the small apartment sized "room" was, how much there was to do at the resort itself with its 5 pools, and how great the location was for walking distance activities! This is the first and last time I stay in a resort. Their were hidden fees and taxes that weren't explained when booking. Their isn't any enforcement on parking so I had to park around the corner about 3 min from my room each night. The pamphlet said I was responsible for the upkeep of the place. The staff was ghetto. Their wasn't any laundry detergent for the washers. The best was so uncomfortable I tossed and turned every night. The room was a good size. I didn't like that it was next to a hotel and their lights shined through the curtains. I didn't like that I had to go to a different location for the timeshare presentation. I didn't like that check in is 4pm and check out is 10 AM. I didn't like that I had to wash my towels and wash cloths. The place i went to for the presentation looked way better than Calypso Cay. I liked that their were some good restaurants close by and it was close to Disney. I didn't like that it was buried between two other hotels. I enjoyed my stay at a cheap $50 hotel that served me breakfast more than Calypso Cay. The room was clean. I didn't like that their was just my door and the next units door that operated us. We stayed 5 days/4 nights for spring break. The rooms are dated and FILTHY. My 18 month old was barefoot for 10 mins and his feet were covered in black dirt from the carpet (pictured). We asked to have it cleaned, and they lied and said they sent someone to the room, only for our parents to confirm they had not. We had to put all the provided dishes in the dishwasher to teclean and sanitize. The dishes, dining table even the knives had mystery gook all over it. (Pictures of knives) The property isn't well kept. The park had one attendant for zip lining, the jumper and the rock climbing. This was every time we went over, despite the time. All the kids had to wait forever to use. Or they were simply told it closed for now. The playground is closed, rusted, and missing the fence so taped off with caution tape. This may have been a great place years ago, but it is run down, has terrible service, and the park is too poorly ran and maintained for the kids to enjoy. The resort grounds were fine pool area was clean. Our room on the other hand was not what we were expecting. Old furniture mystery stains on walls and couch and RED mystery stains on bathroom ceiling. Our bed looked like it was about to cave in on us and looked at least 20 years old. The front door lock looked like it had been ripped off before and we had someone walk into our room!!! Got woken up to banging and construction on the building before 7am every day. The GOOD, The BAD, The UGLY Good - Calypso Cay Resort is a small resort with nice amenities for the kids and adults too. There was zip lining, rock climbing, pool, tiki bar, etc. We met Charles who was our vacation club salesperson and he was professional, knowledgeable and great to talk to. After checking in to our room we noticed an unpleasant order from the previous occupants probably cooking during their stay. We called housekeeping and Lina Edouard (housekeeping manager) and crew came to our room and re-cleaned the kitchen for us. We had a 2 bedroom villa in building 24. The room was very spacious with a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Bad- The furniture in our room was old and desperately needs to be updated along with the the carpet. The room was clean!! The building to stay in is building 5000 and the building next to it. We had no hot water and maintenance came and fixed the water situation. We did not purchase the vacation club because we already own 2 timeshares and the sales supervisor/manager was told by Charles our salesperson this information and he said that we still had to sit for the presentation. Luckily only 90 minutes. Ugly - The resort makes you attend the vacation club presentation and will charge your credit card $350 dollars if you don't attend or if you don't stay for the whole presentation!! With all of the additional fees that the resort charge they need to UODATE THE OLDER ROOMS ASAP!! read more

We finally used our points from Capital Vacations and went to their little briefing as they called it to make sure we knew how to use our points blah blah blah. We ended spending three days out of our vacation dealing with that. The resort was below what we expected. The area we stayed in smelled like weed. The jacuzzi tub was filthy. The TV's have lights appearing through the screen as if the TV may be going out. The neighbors was so loud every day. We can here their conversations. There are only 2 handicapped parking spots at our building. We are nice and patient people, but I will NEVER be back to this location. read more

Would be a 0 if there was an option. We were actually this place out. Upon Arrival (2am) we found out that there were no shuttles and had to walk in the rain and dragging our suitcases. To which the manager said wasn't his problem. When we got to the room. We found empty water bottles in there that were not ours, our bed was being held up buy some wooden blocks, furniture was so scratched up and missing handles, found out their "fitness center" is actually in the Holiday Inn Express, both in to phones did not work, hot water would run out so we could not take back to back showers (4 of us). Mind you all of this because we had to walk in the rain. I called them right away at 2am to which was told to call back after 7am because he was the only one there. Called at 9am siad they would have someone up in 1 hour. 2 hours later nobody, called back from my cell and they sent someone up. The engine was shocked to see the bed that way, got to work on the water heater, and then started to work on the bed. We had to leave because we did not fly here to wait 4 hours for repairs. He told me he would do his best to replace and repair what he could, he would get some help if needed and if it was not fixable then would suggest changing rooms. I told him I would call the office when we got back. Called the office st 8pm to see what update there was and if they would do any compensation. I was told by the Propery Manager, simply no compensation, they fixed it and that is what they do. Horrible customer service and property is like a motel 6. The amenities are nice, but a seperate cost which was never disclosed. He would not work with us at all. Very poor service. read more

Do NOT stay at this facility. We came as part of a time share and from the moment we walked in the front office person was condescending and rude. She was pushing and even arguing with the other front desk employee. Our car was broken into, they stole a weapon and other valuable items. NO ONE took responsibility. The timeshare personnel didn't even call or made any attempt to making this right. It ended up as an investigation from the county sheriff. Management did release "all video footage" but of course, nothing was found. The office shared that this is a HOT spot in Orlando, most calls come from this area. In addition, the room was not ready, we found the cleaning personnel cleaning the room. STAY AWAY - do another time share this is NOT WORTH your vacation peace and time with family. read more

Not only were there bugs and a musty smell with broken furniture that caused me actual injury, which when I reported it I was told "it happens sir have a good day". I chalked it up to a bad experience but then 5 days after this awful stay, they charged me TWICE for the stay on top of the deposit. When I called back to ask why I was being double charged they said they only see one room charge but they confirmed running my card 6 times due to a system issue on their side. After calling my bank and verifying the double charge I tried to handle it with their front desk again and I was hung up on 4 times, transferred to a different person who wasn't even there. I asked to speak to a manager but they said "there is no manager" and again.. you guessed it.. hung up.. So.. if you're interested in being told to walk a half a mile to your room with no directions, getting bit by bed bugs, injured by faulty furniture and or being charged 2x the amount for a roach motel then Calypso Cay "Resort" is the place to be. First off this is a scam. They take money and keep,it for ten days after check out for no reason. Our condo was broken into and they said it was our fault we did. It check the door. Pool open when convenient and the vacation club is a time share scam. Furniture old and uncomfortable and the hot water heater is so small only one person can shower and then wait for it to warm back up. Halls smell like trash and nothing g is done about it. Staff passes the buck every chance they get. No you have to drive 30 minutes to another resort and we will give you a gift card but no card was given. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would rate a ZERO STAR if possible. If anyone has read any of my posts, you'll know that my family and I have traveled the world regularly both for business and vacation/pleasure, and we've stayed at hundreds of hotels, Air B n Bs, and our preferred mode of stay - timeshare since we're Wyndham Worldmark owners. We booked this resort as a phone special for $299 for 5 days in what we thought to be a 3br/3ba in Orlando for our monthly season pass Disney trip in May. 1. The unit that was promised to us over the phone as a 3br/3ba but when we checked in was only a 3br/2ba. Since we're traveling with 3 total families with 5 small children among us all, not having that extra bathroom is a problem. 2. Of the 2 bathrooms we did have, the 'master bedroom' bathroom sink did not drain. 3. To say that the condo unit was FILTHY would be an understatement. We take off our shoes when walking indoors, and as I've read from other reviewers, after an afternoon walking barefoot/socks the bottom of our feet were BLACK!! Like walking outside on asphalt BLACK (pictures included here). The unit also smelled like cigarette smoke. 4. When we discussed/complained to the front desk, they were far from hospitable and had THE ABSOLUTE WORST customer service. Treating your guests with smug condescension is just plain rude, insulting, and unprofessional. What's even worse, is that when we asked to speak with the manager of the establishment, the summoned a man who had even less professionalism or compassion. Later the next day, we saw that "manager" again, as he was the time share check in receptionist - integrity is obviously not this company's priority. 5. On the second day/morning, we informed the front desk that we'd like to check out immediately as we were going to stay out or home timeshare resort (which we love) - Wyndham Worldmark Reunion Resort. The font desk personnel informed us that not only would they charge us $150 to check out 4 days earlier than scheduled, but that if we missed the 'timeshare presentation' that we would be charged $350 penalty. So basically, we were being held hostage for nearly $1000 - $299 5 day stay + $150 early checkout + $350 for not attending the presentation + $120 "Resort Fee" (still not sure what this is) 6. We checked out anyway that same day and checked into our Reunion Resort 8 miles away. We simply didn't tell the Calypso Cay front desk that we left, so that we wouldn't get charged. 7. We then obviously attended the $350 time share presentation our last day in Orlando and voiced our nightmarish experience - to which they were absolutely NO HELP at all. They simply continued on with their sale presentation knowing we wouldn't even consider purchasing at this property. They had the audacity and nerve to stress that their "main resort(s)" are in Cancun, and that they are only affiliated with Calypso Cay as a presentation location and that it's a "marketing company" that manages the properties. I'll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau shortly as this company's business ethics are blatantly malpractice. read more

***BEWARE*** This review coming from my stay in September 2022 during Hurricane Ian. Resort did not communicate at all for emergency preparation during the storm, except for a paper on the elevator saying that they were still preparing it. No communication to us as guests as promised by staff. The timeshare staff are awful. One of the guys insulted me as a single mom and pushed me to stay with him doing a tour during one of the units and threatened me that if I walked out, he would tell my manager that I canceled the tour so I don't get my gift (after already committing over the 90 min presentation) and now I am being harassed by the Calypso cay resort over the phone multiple times a day with different phone numbers asking me to stay with them again at a discounted rate. I asked to be removed off the list and they refused. I can't even block the numbers and I use my phone for business. I had a much longer review I wrote but it would not send because it was too long. I do not recommend the resort. There is nothing exciting about it. I chose this place because of the amenities. I did not see their adventure park. The playground is abandoned and locked up. No one can go in. All they have are pool slides honestly and a pool bar. The resort is hidden behind Springhill suites and Hampton Inn. It's not a nice getaway to be honest. Not worth it. Spend the extra money at Legoland hotel or Disney hotel for the kids. Not this place. read more

Customer service was awful, but Crystal at the bar by the pool was AMAZING, and Tom was very kind. Called 3 separate times prior to our reservation to request an early checkin, no answer and no response to VM. Arrived at 11:00 on day of checkin, asked for early checkin, they said we should be able to checkin by 2:00, but would call us when our room was ready and we could sit by the pool until then. We ask if they can hold our luggage, and they put it in, I shit you not, a school style gymnasium. The door locked so at least we knew it was safe, but really? You don't have a place to store luggage for early checkin guests? 2:00 comes. 3:00 comes. 4:00 comes. No call. Finally it gets to 5:00, so we just go back to checkin, and they're still not sure if our room was ready. Thankfully it was, so we were able to get in. We get to the room and it's SO musty smelling. Plus is that the AC worked so it was nice and cool, but you couldn't control your thermostat, and it got SUPER cold at night. 2 separate bedrooms for our 4 person group was also nice, both had en-suites. Unfortunately the hot water ran out before all 4 of us were able to shower, even though we each took less than 10 minute showers. The toilets ran for a good hour after you flushed, if you were lucky enough it would flush. Called the front desk to have somebody look at them. Somebody clearly did because there were plumbing parts in our bathroom trash, but we still had problems with the toilets. Nobody welcomed us, very few smiles from employees, no 'thank you for your stay'. The room we had was one of those listen to our timeshare proposal and they said they'd do something to help out, apologized for our experience. Nothing happened. Giving 2 stars because at least it was clean and Crystal was amazing, but will not ever stay here again. read more

My aunt booked a 2 bedroom for our family stay at this Kissimme resort with great location to nearby Orlando activities.  My mom and I were spending time with relatives we don't get to see often so our time was precious Little did we know that on the first night we would discover a full-blown infestation of bed bugs. Sure, even the nicest resorts can be prone to bed begs but this was full on negligence. When we saw a bug crawling on the cover surface, we pulled back to bed sheets to discover a mattress that was fully infested with the blood suckers. These bed sheets couldn't have been changed or even looked at in weeks, if not months. There is no way that this room had been cleaned properly. An infestation would've been impossible to avoid seeing. So, the cleaning staff was ignoring the problem completely or they weren't changing the sheets-either way eww! The bed had multiple bed bugs in different stages as well as stained dirty sheets with the bed bug residue. A couple of spiders were also hanging out in other areas of the room and roach hotel hidden near the fridge. Full on disgusting! We went to talk to the front desk about the issue. Unfortunately, they only had one more additional room available that night. However, the kiddos and my elderly grandmother were already tucked away in the other bed bug free room and sleeping. And they wouldn't let us keep both rooms. My mom and I ended up sleeping in the car due to being unable to find a hotel that had any openings in the busy Orlando nightlife. We had to cancel our plans to go to the Disney for the next day. Instead, we spent more of our vacation time inconvenienced when we discovered that the complaint had not even been passed on to the manager. We waited about forty minutes to even talk to her. She seemed fully concerned when we brought the issue to her and showed her the pictures and set us up with a new room. However, I question her management skills. She told us it would take a couple of hours to heat treat all our belongings. Little did we know the full process of this. Turns out all they do is put your clothes in the dryer and do nothing to you bags except spot check them or so they claimed. About five hours after speaking with the manager we went back by the front desk to discover if our bags were ready. The workers at the desk had no clue that the bags even needed treating and the manager had gone home for the night. A little after 10:30 they finally brought our bags. They had emptied out our suitcases and tossed everyone's clothes together into the dryers and then put them in large trash bags to give back to us. Not only were all our clothes mixed in with each other, the clean was also mixed with the dirty because we had been traveling for a few days prior to arriving at this hotel. So, it was super fun sorting out our clothes and playing whose panties are these in front of my grandmother, aunt, mom and two little boy cousins. Some of the clothing had what looked like was food on it. We ended up staying up to wash a load of clothes for the next day and something to sleep in. It was a nightmare -the whole experience. To top it off on the day we left we found another bed bug on "new" bed and in the restroom. While they refunded us partial the costs of the hotel stay, it just wasn't enough. They offered us another day in their bed bug land for FREE! It was a hard pass. I spent hours at the laundromat the day after vacation when I should've been resting. We had to toss our luggage. More $$.  All I can say is check the bed down to the mattress before you bring your luggage in a hotel especially Capital Vacations properties because they seriously don't give a crap and believe me you do not want to bring these suckers home. Still trying to figure out how to ensure my laptop is safe to bring in the house. Still nervous something is crawling on me. This resort was not a luxury resort like we're used to, but it was fine. We had a large 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. It did not have a balcony, which made me sad, but we didn't request one either, so my fault. Yes, the carpet was stained like other reviews, but it wasn't dirty. Everything else seemed clean also. The WiFi was great! I am taking online classes that I didn't want to miss even though I was on vacation and I had no issues with bandwidth at all. If you want more than a day's worth of coffee, filters, garbage bags or laundry detergent, take your own. We went to the store to get our own, which wasn't a big deal to us, but if you don't have a car with you, this may be an problem. The pools and pool areas were clean and fun. There's grills there if you want to grill your own food. Otherwise there's a bar/grill. (Might I suggest a Rum Runner - Yum!) There's a Dunkin Donuts on site also. The mini-golf area wasn't bad. However, the putters and balls look like they came out of the garbage. It doesn't cost that much to replace these! Now, the Castaway Cove Park is the main reason I give this place only 3 stars. When you promote this as an on-site adventure park, it shouldn't suck as much as it did. First check the hours. They're only open certain days and hours. The first day we went, it was closed. The next time we went the workers showed up 30 minutes after it was supposed to open and there were only 2 of them to run the whole park! So after being there for hours. My kids got to do the zipline once each and NOTHING ELSE. There was no one staff anything else. But even if there were, the extreme jumper system doesn't work, and I'm not sure which others one do or don't work because we never got to try them. For what it's worth, this place is a great deal for those who are customers of RCI. It's a time share company where you own a share but not an actual property. For that reason, some of their properties can get run down. Now, I toured their model unit and it was very nice. It was on the third floor and overlooked one of their pools. However, I have seen pics of other units on their yelp page and it's despicable. So, if you're a time share customer, this place is 5,000 points for one week, and houses up to 10 people in a three bedroom unit. That's a really good deal. And if you're here, how much time are you spending in your room realistically? Most people are out and about and just need a place to shower and sleep. If that's you, this place is fine. Parking is ample. There are a few pools. It seems safe. It's near a few hotels. It has a great location to the touristy areas. I came for the time share talk. The office is decent. The people are very nice. Most speak perfect English. But the clientele is mostly foreign here, so there are a lot of Spanish speaking agents. It took a little over two hours to get through the time share talk. A friend talked me into going so I could get the freebies. I almost purchased except it was my first time share presentation so I'd like to do some research on competing companies first. I'd say it was a good experience. I really liked Juan, my guide. And the salesmen there didn't try and rough tactics like you hear about. You're either in or you're out and they don't push you too much. They had coffee available in the waiting area and the bathrooms were clean. Parking is reasonable. There is one golf cart to shuttle you to the Model, we walked because I offered to, when I found out it was not available. I needed to be out by a certain time for another appointment. I think that helped shuttle me through the process. But be prepared to be there for 2.5 hours minimum. Overall a great experience. I learned a lot about their time share company and enjoyed the people I met. I will consider it for the future. read more

I was skeptical about coming here since majority of the Yelp reviews are negative but I had no choice than to go with it since I couldn't refund it. A group of 2 friends and I rented out a 2 bedroom apartment style villa for a few days... but because we arrived a bit late, we ended up getting a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment (no complaints! More room for us). It's perfect for a group of friends or a large family since the apartment we had could hold 2 people in each room plus 1-2 people on the sofa bed, so a total of 8 people. There was a full kitchenette and a wash and dryer in the apartment. You do liquid soap detergent and washer detergent but they give you enough for a short stay (2-3 days) so if it's a big group and you plan on doing a few loads of laundry or even cooking a lot, you may have to purchase more of these items. Only thing I would do differently next time is request a patio/balcony since the weather outside was perfect. Our apartment was self serving, which means no daily cleaning staff/room service but it was great for a few days. There's access to 3 different pool areas, all heated and open until 11pm. Location was in Kissimmee which is super close to Disney and about a 25-30 minute drive to the downtown Orlando area. I love the idea of an apartment style villa so I'll definitely consider this place when coming back with family or a group of friends. read more

First I must say staff are very pleasant . Tiki bar staff are fabulous . As for the rooms , I would say go elsewhere . Not the cleanest . If I could give this place zero stars I would. I've been going here for 16 years and never have I experienced such terrible service. A cabinet in the kitchen had also fell on me as I was storing away food. Considering that we are also in the middle of a pandemic the room that I am staying with my family is not even clean. There is hair in the bathtub, The chair is broken, The bed is creaking, The table wasn't clean, The TVs have scratches on the screen. The staff is also unhelpful and somewhat not understanding. I stayed at your resort this past weekend for my daughter's 6th birthday. We were very excited from your hotel website. When we arrived we found people waiting in a line around a building. It took us over 45 mins to check in. When we finally found the building and parked, we went into the room which looks different then what's on your site plus we found stains on the walls, Food in the refrigerator and a not so clean room . The first night I woke up at 10;3 pm to a staff member banging on our door with a clipboard begging me to attend a hotel presentation. I have kids who were scared to death because their room was next to the door. When I checked out no one even asked about how my stay was.. I'm not sure I would be returning here with this experience. read more
