We enjoyed our stay at silver lakes resort. We were 20 min from universal studios and had a great time going to the parks. The beds were very comfortable and our 2 bedroom suit was very accommodating for our family. We never went in the pool due to other plans but it did look good. We stayed here through my timeshare for our Disney trip. It's conveniently located close to all of the Disney theme parks and about 30 minutes from Universal in Orlando. The resort is very clean with lots of great amenities. Every resort has little differences that are interesting. This one had a market near check in which was overpriced, but very convenient. They also had multiple luggage carts which not all of the resorts have. There is a beautiful pool area with hot tub and a small kids pool. There is also a volleyball net and a life size chess board located in the pool area. There is also a basketball court, tennis court, movie theater, activity center and game room. There are daily activities planned. Some are free, some have an additional cost. We had a 3 bedroom with full kitchen, multiple bathrooms and washing machine inside the room. The outside patio was closed in and had an overhead fan which was a nice touch. Overall the staff were friendly. However, there were a few that seemed like you were bothering them if you asked for something or asked questions. Checkout was very easy. I would stay here again if the option was available. read more

Fees were more that what I was told when booking. Felt like a trap. Extra towels were never delivered nor was extra coffee. Hot tub wasn't working and was same temp as the pool. Sales manager on the tour was extremely abrasive and condescending. Lock on door going into the foyer for the rooms was broken and door wouldn't shut half the stay because the lock was stuck out. WiFi didn't works half the stay which also meant tv didn't work either. trying to get a close parking spot or even a spot near your assigned building was tough too. Had to park another building and a half down. Avoid the timeshare tour at all costs and ask front desk for parking pass to bypass the pesky timeshare solicitors read more

Not as big as most resorts in this area , a bit dated but we would definitely come back . They offer tons of daily activities, bingo for money 18+, karaoke, crafts , and a LONG list of movies in their very nice movie theater ! Staff were exceptional ! I would recommend renting from the property directly , not private owners . Private owner 2 bedroom was VERY dated , dressers were falling apart and the living room furniture was dirty and old looking . The pools are VERY nice , not too big but not too small . There is a main pool where music is played , some poolside games , a bar , and restaurant. A kiddie pool is adjacent to the main pool . There is a serenity pool for adults tucked away with some water fall features , it was very quiet and secluded from the loudness of the main pool . The jacuzzi was PACKED day and night everyday so do not really recommend using that . There is a store that makes food to order (not the best ) but what was great about this store is they sell water floaters and filled them up for $24.00. This made being in the pool so much better . We would definitely come back again but would not rent from a private owner . read more

My sister in law has a timeshare with Silver Lake Resort and we were able to book two nights during our last Orlando trip. The hotel had its charm but you can see the wear and tear especially in the lobby. The rooms were very spacious and the bathroom with a massive jacuzzi tub. I've seen some reviews on here about this place and I was worried when we booked it. We booked it through our travel agent. It is a science location so we did get roped into a timeshare however they were true to their word offers us discounts and gift cards. The room that we stayed in was very spacious. We booked a two bedroom for living room and kitchen suite as we were going with our entire family and this was very helpful. We saved lots of money by cooking in the kitchen, which is very clean so we're the restrooms and we didn't have any issues for bugs. Let me just get out of the way because I don't like them and I definitely would've left a review about that. So we didn't have any issues lol. Hopefully this is the norm and it wasn't a fluke. As far as the property they offer so many activities for the children. There were Christmas activities all week such as meeting with Mrs. Claus, creating gifts, some activities were included. Some activities were paid for, but to be honest most of them were free. The game room was wonderful . It had consoles and it also had options for paid games or free games. The pool was great and it's heated all year long perfect temperature. The kids enjoyed it even during our winter stay. Pretty sweet spot and a pretty good deal. All of the staff was friendly. We booked our five day four night stay through Monster for the Silver Lake Resort. We enjoyed our stay here. There is a lot for everyone to do here. Our room was 1 bedroom/ 1 bath, cozy and comfortable and it consisted of a full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, patio and large bedroom, large bathroom and large living room area. The staff was awesome! Animal kingdom was on the other side of the resort. This is definitely a resort that we will be going back to again. read more

This is a very conveniently located property. I have been staying here for almost 30 years (much prior to the turnover in management). For the price, it is a wonderful value. The pool area and outdoor restaurant is wonderful. The staff at the outdoor restaurant are really speedy and accomodating. Area feels very safe. The units are always clean and spacious. Somethings to consider if you are placed in an adjoining room (not intentionally like as in your whole family is adjoining) it can be very loud. Our last stay had very loud neighbors and the shared entry smelled heavily of Marijuana and their cooking. The wifi was not strong or reliable and you cant walk thru the smaller lobby without alot of timeshare salespeople. You recieve your parking pass from the timeshare desk which was really annoying after a long day of travel. read more

There are some pros and some cons here. First the pros: heated pool, game room, activity directory at the pool. All employees were very nice. Room was clean, albeit dated. They are updating areas. Now the cons: 1) Don't' these people ever check to see if a bed is worn? That bed was the lumpier than a bag of rocks. People stay at a resort/hotel to SLEEP and that wasn't happening. 2) A/C. LOUD and just blows straight at you when you're trying to sleep. 3) Don't know why there is a gate entrance person-- they just wave everyone in anyway. 4) Golf simulator- great idea; too bad it wasn't working. read more

Silver Lake Resort is by far one of the dirtiest and most poorly managed resorts I've ever stayed in. Our two-bedroom suite was unacceptable from the moment we walked in: filthy sheets, layers of dust covering the bed frame, tile, carpet, and furniture, and a couch that reeked of mildew. Food crumbs were scattered throughout the room, making it clear housekeeping had not properly cleaned before our stay. To make matters worse, the suite was infested with both live and dead roaches -- an absolute health hazard. Customer service was equally disappointing. Staff openly admitted to being sick yet continued working without masks, which raises serious health and safety concerns. Security is also an issue -- the building entrances are left ajar around the clock. To make matters worse, trash cans are placed right at the entrance, one of which leaks onto the floor, forcing every guest to walk through "trash juice" before entering. For the high price point of this resort, the conditions are unacceptable. Between the infestation, lack of cleanliness, poor safety standards, and unprofessional staff, I cannot recommend Silver Lake Resort to anyone. read more

We stayed here for a week, and only paid $350. It's a timeshare property, but we were able to skip the meeting since we didn't qualify. We weren't asked to purchase anything after that. They have a lot of amenities, it's very family friendly. Very quick drive to Disney parks, it's practically on the property. Staff is lovely. I did see one roach on our first night. There was "exterminator dogs" checking the building, so at least they're doing something about it. We were given a king bed instead of two queens. I didn't ask for a change, since I was so grateful to stay for such a cheap rate. read more

If I could give this place a negative star rating I would!!! This place looks nothing like the pictures. Our room had a pungent smell of cigarette. We called the front desk they sent housekeeping to spray our room. Obviously the smell came back. The sheet and comforter were dirty. The entire room is outdated, dirty and uninhabitable. Our socks turned black after an hour of walking without shoes. When you check in you are asked to see someone else for a parking pass. Beware these people promise gift cards and other perks if you attend a presentation while at the so-called "resort". We did not attend after finding out that they try to pressure you into a time share. Needless to say we opted to checkout early and run the risk of loosing money rather then to stay there any longer. Great resort for anyone with or without kids. We went on vacation there and enjoyed it. This place has a lot of amenities such as activity center, fitness area, convenience shop on site, movie theater, heated pool and a lot other fun stuff to do on premise. You don't even have to leave and go out if you don't have to. Our condo was fully equipped with kitchen, washer dryer, patio and a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Worst place I've ever stayed my husband and I plan to get away for four days to escape the cold from Maine. Don't know where to start. It was horrible. The rooms were dated gross bathrooms were left with hair in the showers. They told us to come down for free breakfast and coffee. If we listen to a one hour presentation ended up being three hours and all we did was listen to high tactics sales pressure we asked for a different room and was told that they would switch us and all they did after pressure for my husband and myself was move us across the hall to the exact same room just as dirty. They offered us a free night stay in an apology. My husband and I declined them both. We left the following day upon staying there that evening we were discovered that this location and resort is part of a timeshare the guest scam where they're offering people $13,000 worth of benefits for 15,000 ending up being almost $30,000. They have multiple complaints and people who wish to file class action lawsuit, but those who agreed to the timeshare signed a piece of paper of arbitration do not book here they wasted our entire morning and I've never ever stayed at any place so disgusting. My husband and I are not picky people this was the bottom of the bottom motel six would've been a better choice. Don't stay here. read more

After picking up my in-laws at the airport, we stayed for a week at this resort. Near Disney theme parks! There were plenty to do here and can be a nice vacation on itself. They have a movie theater, game room, several pools, fitness center and daily planned events. We stayed in a roomy two bedroom and two bathroom with living room, kitchen, and a patio. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has two full sized beds. In the living room, there's a pull out bed so this place will pretty much sleep 4 couples comfortably. We definitely enjoyed our stay. The only reason for the 3-star review was the timeshare presentation. The initial presentation was short, then each couple or family talks to their designated advisor (salesperson). The supposed 90-minutes ended up being 150 minutes. It's like buying a car! You know how that goes. It was my first attending this and certainly will be my last. read more

Our experience with Capitol Vacations at the Silver Lake Resort was disappointing and showed a clear focus on high-pressure sales rather than proper customer service. At check-in, the front desk agent seemed uninterested in helping and gave only brief yes/no answers. When we arrived at our building, there was a dead cockroach in the lobby. We had been promised a "private entry," but it was simply a shared hotel-style entry with two unit doors. The room appeared unclean and possibly vacant for months. There were ants throughout the unit, visible dust, and a non-working phone, forcing us to walk back to the lobby for help. Although we were moved to a nicer room, it was unclear why guests invited to preview a timeshare would initially be given such poor accommodations. The sales presentation began politely but quickly shifted into high-pressure tactics. A manager presented handwritten pricing that did not match the contract. What was claimed to be a $16,000 offer for 100,000 points became only 75,000 points once we declined and saw the contract. We were told that several "special features" would only be available if we signed immediately. After declining, we were sent to what was described as a survey, but it was another sales pitch for a two-year package. After refusing again, another salesperson tried to sell a discounted vacation package, adding more incentives each time we said no. Once they ran out of offers, the salesperson became abrupt and dismissive. Overall, the combination of unclean rooms, lackluster service, misleading pricing, and aggressive sales tactics made the entire experience exhausting and frustrating. These practices do not reflect transparency or value, and consumers should be aware of the pressure-based approach used by Capitol Vacations. read more

This resort is in dire need of an update and renovation. Entering the building and floor of where we were going to stay had this unavoidable stench of paint. There was an elderly couple just coming out of the elevator when we first arrived that mentioned it and was coughing uncontrollably. The area outside the resort is barely walkable. There are stretches where there's no safe sidewalks to walk on and I guess this is resort-living. To keep you inside the resort the duration of your stay. The pool is quite large but nothing is provided (ie: floaties, life vests). Instead you need to purchase it at the store. And if there's people playing water volleyball, then basically you're stuck on one side cause the netting blocks access to the rest of the pool. Staff was more or less cordial. The little market where they sell stuff at marked up prices was helpful. Even though you have to swallow your pride and pay the higher prices, it's convenient when you have little options. The guy manning the store was nice. Also, it was quite loud at least one night we were there. Bratty tenants outside yelling into odd hours of the night. You'll hear fireworks from the resorts too but that's expected. That was main reason we booked here because it's close to the Disney parks. I definitely would not stay here if I had a choice. Improve the conditions and sleeping arrangements. Then maybe. Also add direct shuttle service to resorts is plus too. Free would be nice but I wouldn't mind paying $5 or so to utilize it. read more
