This place is the worst.. I had to poop for 8 hours and nothing was coming out.. the Dr at Camarena wanted to do blood tests and prescribed gas pills.. I'm thinking this Dr got his MD from a Cracker Jack box.. So what did I do? I hightailed it to RiteAid and bought a pack of suppositories.. stuck one about 2 inches deep in my butthole.. waited 15 minutes and the magic happened. Thanks for nothing Doctor!!

Camarena, Oakhurst: 2022 Jan to Jul I personally do not think this facility cares about their patients. I saw the staff (not doctor) in January. I made numerous calls to add a test for my blood lab work - it took them 171 days and a dozen phone calls before they added a very important test I needed. I rely on my prescription to stay alive - so their nonchalance towards my health is more than offensive. I finally received a fresh copy - which I had to request via email to their facility in writing - and secured an appointment for the lab work. In between the time I requested the additional test to the date of my lab work - they called to cancel my prescription - a prescription I needed to stay alive. Let me go back to the beginning: 2022 Jan 19: My first appointment didn't work out. After waiting over an hour - with actual 'sick' people in a closed room, I opted to leave and reschedule. 2022 Jan 25: Back for my actual visit. I was seen by a nurse practitioner who was charming and sweet. Then another staff came in. She said she is not a doctor but is qualified to see me. *My thoughts: Okay 2022 Jul 7: I finally went for my Lab Work on the 1st. When I called to get my results, I was informed it'll take 24-72 hours for the staff to read - then, a staff will call me back in 72-hours. 2022 Jul 11: That was the 7th. I called and was informed that it takes time to read the results. *My thoughts: The way we were treated was abominable - to say the least Final note: With Covid-19 still rearing its ugly head - I had to wait in a closed room with bad ventilation. Their disrespect of people's health and time is sickening. Today, I called to get a copy of the lab results - and was told to email them my photo ID. I have lived long enough to have visited numerous doctors and facilities - and this is the WORSE of the lot. Even Kaiser couldn't get close to the lack of care here. By the way, we were told by a staff member that they are very unhappy there. That alone - speaks volumes.

The front door.

I was in a lot of pain. An older white gentleman went into before me. He came up to the front desk and said he had never been there and wanted to see the Dr. The receptionist took him in. The second receptionist called me over. I told her I has in a lot of pain and needed to see someone. She immediately told me that within an hour an urgent care would be open next door. I told her that this office was in my network and if they could possible squeeze me in. She didn't look at her computer, just snapped. No, we're booked. The only difference I saw between both of us was that I am Mexican American. At this point I decided to take my money elsewhere. There is no reason to argue with a racist.

I ripped my leg open on a piece of wood at bass lake. The cut was super deep and pretty gross. I've never had an IV or stitches. I was a nervous wreck, my insurance is lapsed, and I'm in a lot of pain. From the moment we pulled up to the time I left, my experience was really positive all things considered. They brought me a wheelchair, the desk staff was friendly and helpful. The waiting room was relaxing. By the time I was up I was not doing well mentally. I cried, almost threw up, was super dramatic etc. The medical assistants were so sweet and empathetic. They brought me graham crackers when I thought I was going to pass out. And just made a big effort to help me relax and feel comfortable. I wish I could remember their names. They were great. My doctor was Kevin. He was thorough, and knowledgeable. He took his time taking care of my wound and sewing me up. His bed side manner was amazing. I felt like I was hanging out with an old friend. I am so grateful to everyone at Camarena on 426 for making the worse experience so much more bearable. Thank you for taking care of me.

Kevin went above and beyond! Very pleased with him! Highly recommend! Even with a ton of people here, we got in pretty quickly!

Adventist Health, Oakhurst: 2024 Sep 27 (2.875 of 5)…read more We were so disappointed with this place that we assumed the next person we saw would give us the same service - but, we were pleasantly surprised by Helen Monnens, FNP. She treated us with care, listened to my husband's concerns, and tried to explain the best she could about the issues. Helen deserves a 4.75 of 5. Let me go back to my previous review. This is the only facility that we could go to with our 'horrible' insurance coverage. This 'so-called' medical office has only shown their unprofessionalism, their disrespect to patients, and their uncaring attitude - plus they bill under a doctor's name even though we never saw 'any' doctors there. This sounds like malpractice. (1 of 5) Thanks to Helen, this place managed to climb up from my previous review. This review is not for the place... but, for the person. Unfortunately, the overall accumulated points remain below 3 because of my original review.

My son was a nicu baby and needs medication and our doctor stopped filling it randomly and when we called to get it fixed it never did. For two weeks we called because my son was losing weight due to him not having his medication. Front desk ladies responses were "okay" when I was trying to urge her to speed the process up, specifically Rachel, so I would never bring your child here unless you wanna be neglected and for the front desk ladies to make you feel like you or your problem does not matter. Do better Oakhurst.

Many problems, but the worst actually impacted upon my health in a very major way: over the past year or so, they've bungled refills on my single prescription drug - dramatically. When I called (at my pharmacy's request) to have the prescription refill error be corrected, my call was not returned. The problem? Oakhurst had mistakenly coded in an incorrect pharmacy - one which I've never dealt with, nor have even been to - rather than my own long-term pharmacy. I left messages both via voicemail AND with a human and: my call was never returned. I managed to have THAT refill instance be corrected with NO help from Oakhurst Med Group, but then had a recurrence of their error when I next had to refill that prescription 90 days later. I called and left a message: a week later, NO RETURN call. I called again and spoke with a VERY apologetic human who insisted she would have them return my call and: NO RETURN CALL. But then, when THEY called me to "remind" me of my upcoming long-scheduled annual visit, they were shocked when I told them I had already formally requested a transfer of my files to my new provider - and that weeks earlier, I had actually called them repeatedly without any response from them to courteously notify THEM that I would be transferring my care and cancelling that appointment. Indifference, lack of care about their patients, sheer absolute lack of communications: run, do not walk: away from this terrible practice. I did and my only regret is that I didn't do so sooner.

Convincing the front desk you are worthy to be allowed across the bridge to be granted an audience with Pam Rico = not so awesome. And forget about trying to ask your doc a quick question via phone or email like most other 21st century docs. It's why I haven't gone in a couple of years. Pam Rico is very attentive, patient, happy to give me the level of explanation/consultation I seek (i.e.; I know some people just want to be given a pill and let loose rather than learn about what's ailing them). I really hope either they can make their front desk less draconian or Pam Rico finds a friendlier office to work for, because she deserves better.

However, unfortunately I had to get by the front desk staff to get to them. I have managed dental offices for many years. I am seasoned on both sides of that counter. You are not required by law to Love people if you are forced to work with them, but at the very least do have the common decency to look them in the eye and avoid being terse or sarcastic. I honestly felt sick just sitting in that waiting room in such a dismissive atmosphere. I do hope it is something they will work on for the benefit of all.
