I went through multiple body shops for a back bumper fender bender fix and I think I met and spoke to more douchebags at those places than I've encountered my entire life. The work was great quality, shop was clean, everyone was polite, I was kept in the loop...I could go on but they checked all the boxes for me. I was rear ended with very minor damage to my car. Carstar Camarillo has had my car for 3 weeks with no idea when it will be ready. They originally called me on Wednesday that my car was ready to pick up, I was not able to go until Friday because I work and they close before I get off work. When I got there on Friday and started my car a service light came on saying a rear sensor was damaged, the same sensor they were supposed to fix! How did they not see this come on as soon as they turned my car on to move it from the back to the front parking lot for me on WEDNESDAY I do not know! I saw the light immediately! This was Friday at 9am and apparently no one works there that could fix a "quick wire problem" is what they told me. It's now Monday afternoon and they are saying the one guy is still not there and they don't know when he can come and when my car will be ready! I would never pick this place willingly I'm the future. Be sure to do a proper inspection of your car before you leave. I did not get a call responsive to their "automated" emails saying when my car would be ready, so I just showed up. Jason was very condescending and pissed at me for showing up -- didn't explain the paperwork to pick up the car. Then, I had to review my own car while he spent time reviewing another car that came after me and when I inquired why was I not given the same courtesy, he said "it was because of my attitude" when all I wanted was them to communicate with me. the business got paid by insurance fully and replaced with faulty parts and ignored insurance requests for a call back. per insurance, parts are unsafe for passengers. gary, the owner tried to cover his mistakes by trying to pay for my car after he received all monies fully from insurance. i went to the shop more than three times for other issues and they were unsuccessful in repairing and told me to "just drive the car" and that most people would not have issues with the repairs. these are scammers and are not honest people to work with. i have proof of wrong dong and they failed on their promise. please avoid this business and warn others. they go paid close to 15,000 and put non-agreed parts on the car damaging it and making it unsafe to make a buck and endanger people's life. gary and his colleague robert try to cover their wrong doing on the expense of the safety of people because n no one checks under the hood for the work they and they claim to be bbb and aaa-approved. be very vigilant and check your work with others if you are already using them. alert others. read more

Allstate recommended the shop to us and we were definitely pleased. Carstar made an appointment to bring the car in for an estimate and gave us a timeframe when the car would be finished. They called us about 10 days later indicating that the car would not be completed on the day expected due to a part not delivered as expected. They called about 2 days later and said it looked like they would be completed on time. They are so professional and we were so impressed with the way the office worked together, almost reading each other's minds. I got a call that my car will be done the next day. I also received an explanation of what was done. I had a small problem after 2 weeks , and was taken care of immediately. If i could give this shop a zero star I would. Went to see what the hype was about since its supposedly a four star rating and my insurance recommended me this shop. Never will I recommend this body shop to my worst enemy. My experience was terrible. Robert said to me he wasnt sure he could fix my bumper that was hit by another vehicle. He "your car is too custom" and long story short he was being a karen asking me all these questions about my car. He asked about my carbon diffuser that was broke due to me hitting it along time ago irrelevant. He asked about my TPMS sighs on my dash asking me what those were about buddy. My tire sensors were taken off due to me putting new wheels on my car. Long story short robert didnt know if he could fix my car but yet asked me if i wanted to leave my car behind at this shop. I only went to this shop because it was Geico Certified. The people and atmosphere was great and typical for a large collision shop. I dropped my truck in on a Monday and picked it up the following Tuesday which was exceptional for time. The problem was the lack of quality. 1. I couldn't show this in pictures but there was over a dozen dirt particles in the clear coat. They probably can be buffed out but they didn't spend time doing it. 2. The truck was damaged on the rear quarter panel. It was replaced but they forgot, i guess, to repaint the lower panel with a "stone guard" paint. This is the textured paint that protects fender well or low quarter panel areas from rocks. 3. They forgot to put the lower clip on the outer fender well. See picture. 4. The rear tail light was replaced but the gap is extreme. See pics of the replaced one and the original to compare. 5. Excessive amounts of putty are visibly seen on the replaced panel. At the very least they could have done a cleaner job, not so messy. See pics of original and their work. Basically these doods need to slow down and pay attention to detail. Collision shops make their money by the job, not by the hour, so they knock things out. Maybe my vehicle is the exception to what gets knocked out here but don't expect me back or to recommend them. Yelp made me take off the pictures probably cause the owner was crying about them. Message me and I will send them to you as a picture speaks 1000 words. Turns out the owner knew about the problem with my taillight but didnt think I would notice. If I brought my truck back for them to repair it he said he would have make his workers fix the truck with no pay. Not only does he let poor quality leave the door he also has no morals on how to treat employees. How many times have you made a mistake at work and had the boss tell you that you will pay for it out of your pocket? Ridiculous. read more

Recently got in a car accident and was giving a different location and auto body repair through geico, I yelp the review and went off of my option was given. The choice between was given per the other body shop has 3 stars vs 4ish stars you guess where I'm going with this of course I went with the higher rating vs the lower one and I'm glad I did. Over all the experience was good the only down side was I had to call the day before my rental/ car was finish/due to check status on it per I didn't want to get charge for an extra day on rental. They overall kept me updated and was nice to provide me with all the information I need. They quoted me for 3 days but I got the car back on the 4th day which I'm ok with per the owner didn't like how there was damaged to the previous bumper and didn't allow that type of work. The staff was very helpful, however they did not completely diagnose the damage to my car after an accident. I have a 2018 Subaru Forester, and I had to return it twice for issues I believe they should have discovered while evaluating my car before and then after repairs.
