How can a five star review be an understatement?? Over the years I have had them detail my Porsches, Tacomas, Mercedes and this week my Tesla. The Tesla had a small (tough to get to) dent on the frunk. Because of the under frunk structure this was a very difficult fix. But, they did it and I'm so happy. Tesla looks brand new. Tony did a fabulous job applying two coats of Graphene Coatings in addition to a windshield application of GlassParency to my Mercedes GLS. I went on Yelp and saw the good rating on The Detail Shop and decided to stop in. The detail shop is located at Taylor Court off Thousand Oaks Blvd, and slightly up a hill. I met the brother owners Tom and Jay when I dropped off my car. Jay came across as very detail oriented, knowledgeable and straightforward. Tom is a little more laid back but also seems very knowledgeable and honest. I offered to pay cash for lower cost and they gave me a pretty reasonable offer. Brought in a 2011 car with grungy seats and winter-wrecked carpets, wheels and exterior. Drove out with a car that looked fresh off a dealers preowned lot. Jay recommended that we paint the wheels, as they were very rusted and nasty looking from 7 midwestern winters. They look new now. All the scuffs and dings in the paint finish are gone. The car shines beautifully. It's not cheap. I've seen simple detailing prices about half what I paid, but I don't regret the extra money. I purchased a three year old Porsche Carrera recently and the all-leather interior was not exactly clean when I got it from a private seller. I showed it to Tom Harrah at The Detail Shop and he assured me that the spots, odd stains and dark marks would be removed without a problem. A very big promise to make to someone who is somewhat skeptical. I dropped the car off this morning and they went through the complete interior, which is a rich red leather. Tom and his crew had my car for seven hours and when I picked it up I didn't believe my eyes. There were no more spots, stains or wear marks! The leather looked unbelievably rich! Although I didn't expect it, it smelled great too. When I looked closer at my car, I noticed that the whole exterior had been cleaned and detailed as well. I had not asked for this added detailing, but Tom said that he refused to let me drive away with a clean interior and a unwashed exterior to match. Wow! After reading all the good reviews on Yelp my daughter and I drove by to get a quote on her Ford C Max which had unsightly scratches above the wheel. Jay greeted us both warmly, explained everything he could do, promised if we didn't like the job we wouldn't have to pay and took the VIN number so he could order the paint all 2 days before Thanksgiving. Day after TG we took the car in and left it with him for the day. Jay is a magician! The car looked like new and you couldn't tell where the white scratches on the black car had been! We were amazed by the actual work, the professionalism shown, and Jay's knowledge along with the extremely fair price. I bought my car used and noticed a few scratches and imperfections on it and decided to take it to get looked at. After taking it to several shops that wanted to repaint my car and charge me up the wazoo for it I decided to try one more place. I noticed that the detail shop was on my way home and it had a 5 star rating so I decided to check it out. I met with Tom and he did a detailed and very thorough walk of my car he pointed out that the paint was not finished as well as it could be and recommended I get it sanded down and refinished. He also recommended that I get my filler pieces on the sides of my windshield fixed up at the All About Glass shop, this is work he could do and charge me more for it but he went ahead and recommended I go see them and they did a great job of fixing them. When I took my car In to do the work he also was able to get a huge stain on the cloth on my roof out and a bunch of irritating stains in the seats out. They did a MARVELOUS JOB!! And all this work only took a day to complete!!! So happy with the way 'Red Sonya' looks now!! A very BIG THANK YOU to Tom and the rest of his team!!! read more
