She loves her room, refers to Camarillo Senior Living as her new home, and doesn't talk about leaving to go back to the house she lived in for 62 years. I do physical therapy on the 3rd floor. I see Dr. Rebecca Matalon and I have also worked with Reanne. Both of them are super pleasant. It's a comfortable environment and there are always new and helpful things to do. I have worked with Rebecca at another location and also this one. She is very good at what she does. I frequently learn new techniques and stream line my healing. Such a good place. And she is probably a 5 star person, so I'm leaving a 5 star review. I feel very helped and more knowledgeable. Definitely worth trying. You will feel improvement, incremental to massive. Highly recommend. read more

Im a 56 year old male. In the last 16 months, I've had 3 strokes, so I needed to move into an assisted living home. Im lucky, I chose Camarillo senior living. I get excellent care here by people who really care. I can't think of a single time that I asked for something that someone didn't help me through whatever the situation was. It's very nice here. It's both clean and quiet. Heck, even the cleaning lady is super friendly and asks you how you are. I may need an assisted living place for the rest of my days. But im confident that ill never need to move. Im home. read more

The Skilled Nursing Facility is very good. They are caring and supportive and they have a great PT, OT, and Speech Therapists..

I came here briefly for rehab after my spinal fusion surgery. I was fortunate in that I didn't need to stay long. The physical/occupational therapy folks were exceptional. They were encouraging, helpful, practical and funny. Thanks to (In no particular order: Jen, Raj (sp?), Kelly, Joon (sp?), Rommel, Becca, Rosie and Soo (sp?). They were awesome. Thanks also to the CNA/nursing folks (again in no particular order): Alba, Brenda, Fatima, Machelle and Gabby. There are some I am forgetting or whose names I didn't pick up on, so please forgive me if I omitted them. Certainly there are times you'd rather sleep and here someone is at 4 a.n. taking your blood sugar. And there are times you wonder about the food in front of you, but usually, the meals are very good. Thanks to all of you! read more

As a family member of a current resident, some of the things that needs attention are the dirty carpets and the fact that the 2nd floor and 3rd floor does not look well maintained and outdated. When you enter the building, there are people on the first floor doing activities but it is so quiet that there seems to be a lack of engagement which makes the atmosphere depressing. I was surprised to learn that the Activity Director has been doing this for several years because the residents look like "zombies". From what my mother tells me, the nursing staff seem to provide incredible care with compassion and they deserve recognition for the hard work that they do. My biggest concern is management and their absence from day to day care- you see them in their offices or walking around but rarely actively helping the staff and residents. Leadership needs to be far more involved and responsive if this facility is going to improve. I truly hop that these changes are addressed. read more

Very informed and caring director, Don Saunders, provided information to help guide us to the right decision for my 100 year old mother. Facility is very bright and clean. Liked the openness of the first floor dining room and lounge area, including a fireplace. Dining is restaurant style with a good menu selection. Residents are happy and well cared for, very friendly. read more

I I was terrified to go to a skilled nursing facility because I thought it was a nursing home! My stay at Alta Camarillo Skilled Nursing Facility was a delightful experience! I recovered quickly from my knee replacement surgery and was able to transfer and walk enough to go Home in less than two weeks. I want to mention Marcos the night CNA Rommuel PT, Suo and Snaha OT, Lolita RN and all the other lovely staff I don't remember by name. Have no fear Alta Camarillo is here! read more

Unfortunately my mother passed away in October, but I was so happy to know she had people that actually cared for her well being sortingherfinaldays. If things had gone differently with you i wonderif the outcome would have different. And for the record. ..her discharge from your facility was a mess and it created a huge amount of stress for all of us. And your care plan was nothing more than a warning that we were being discharged soon and we better find a place to go quickly! read more

My mother just spent two weeks at the skilled nursing facility. While no one likes to have to be depended upon others for help, she told me that the staff was very nice and helpful. I noticed that the facility was clean and that maintenance crews were working daily to keep it up, my interaction with the administration and staff was pleasant. The administration really worked with me to get my mother into the facility and to ensure that she got the treatment she needed. read more

I brought my father to Camarillo senior living after he fell and broke his hip. He spent three weeks in their skilled nursing facility after his stay my mother couldn't take care of him at home, so he stayed for another month in a respite room where he received home health rehab. He returned for the second time after falling and breaking his other hip. this time he just stayed in there skilled nursing. a couple of years ago he fell one more time,while in the hospital he developed pneumonia. The hospital said we needed to put him on hospice. So back to Camarillo senior living where he passed. Through all the issues with my dad the nurses and the caregiving staff were always very knowledgeable friendly. He was always in good care, and really enjoyed the staff. He liked the food so much that he would go back to visit his friends and eat launch. read more

Very very disappointed. Services gone down hill last couple years. The care they are giving my Mother in general is so lacking. Sitting for so long to be helped into restroom etc. Two nurses there are the Best and only reason we are there this long. But after this last couple weeks we can see management is completely inept of the jobs. And getting worse. I hope this is not how they would care for their loved ones. read more

Recently visited this building and it has improved so much. They just completed a remodel in the main entrance that looks so nice. There is a new Executive Director who is great. She really cares, and you can tell. It's a beautiful location, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place for their loved one. My mom was here for a year and a half after having a stroke. I can't say enough good things about the care she received. Everyone was kind and attentive and shared our tremendous grief when she passed. When you have a loved one in care it's important to remember that these places are always short staffed and are doing the best they can. We hired a CNA to be with her during the day and to make sure that she got to Bingo and other activities. She liked to have her make up put on each day and dress in a cute outfit so they helped with all of that. They also helped the staff with basic care. We were also there every day to check in. If you dump your loved one in a facility and never visit, which we sadly saw a lot of, you cannot complain about the care. read more

Based on a weekly visit to my aunt during this year, I highly recommend the care provided. Every time I arrive, I am greeted warmly by the reception staff. Upon entering the lobby and the upstairs hallway, I notice that the facility is always clean and cheerfully decorated. The Accounting Dept,, in particular Carolyne, has been helpful and pleasant. Although I am there briefly one day per week, I have observed the second floor staff attentively going in and out of resident rooms, and all whom I encountered have been pleasant and helpful. All of my questions about medications for my aunt have been answered by Mary, and she always conveys a genuine concern and caring for my aunt. I have watched as my aunt's caregiver, Melissa, kindly and gently attends to her, mindful of her discomfort and dignity. Overall, I get the feeling the staff is very devoted to their residents and they seem to be caring, gracious, people. read more
