Jessica is incredibly knowledgeable and shared deep, educated insights into the nuances of memory care life. She took the time to truly educate me on what it means to live in a specialized secure unit, providing peace of mind that is hard to find elsewhere. The facility design is one of the most unique and thoughtful I have ever seen. In terms of security, it is easily one of the best I have been in. I had a really good experience with Silverado memory care. The staff are kind, patient, and you can tell they truly care about the residents. They are very understanding when it comes to dementia and memory issues, and they treat everyone with respect and dignity. The facility is clean, safe, and feels warm and welcoming, not like a typical nursing home. This place is the best! All the caregivers are so kind and caring. Every single one of them, without exception! I am really impressed with them and so glad my Mom was able to be admitted here. Mom loves all the activities every day and loves her neighbors and friends she has made in the community. My Mom is not always easy to please and she actually really likes being at Silverado! We love Silverado T.O.! When we came to them we were desperate to find a place for Mom. Dementia is a horrible disease & as Mom slowly slipped into her disease we had a lot of challenges with keeping her safe & healthy. Love Silverado! All the people are so kind and helpful. I was struggling to find someplace for my mother with dementia and they agreed to take her and have her amazing ever since. They were so kind and easy to work with and take great care of my mother. They update me often and as soon as anything happens, I'm notified. Nothing but a great experience there. I met Jessica Torres at Silverado yesterday. She hosted an amazing event with 60 professionals dedicated to serving the senior community. The facility was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. So nice to hear they host regular events unique to each of their neighborhoods (e.g. level of care). This community is wonderful. Both Jessica and Rob are very passionate and knowledgeable at what they do. One of the residents even showed me their herb garden outside. Last week I meet with Rob, the administrator to discuss possibly placing my Uncle here in Thousand Oaks . Rob gave me tour of the facilities. I couldn't have been more impressed. The facility I would truly call it a home. It was beautiful, and very well maintained and clean. I could tell they really care about their residents. Everyone was friendly and professional. I hope this will work out for my uncle in the near future. When I left the gave me a beautiful box of fresh made cookies. Honestly , they were the best cookies I have ever had. The staff at Silverado care about the residents and families. They listen to our concerns and take action when needed. The executive team is always available to answer questions and very visible through out the community. I feel peace and trust that my dad is getting good care and is safe. They provide and encourage lots of spaces for engagement. What a treat it is to join my dad in the dining room for any meal any day at no extra cost. As a family member I enjoy participating in all the fun events they plan. The events are well done and they provide a fun space to hang out. Do yourself and your loved one a favor...investigate Silverado Thousand Oaks before you move your loved one there. Maybe they finally have solid staff who are properly overseeing Silverado now. But we moved my dad from there after he was severely neglected...he ended up in the hospital for several days and the doctors would not release him back to Silverado (we didn't want him going back there anyway) because of the obvious neglect. We moved him to a fabulous place that is highly rated with very little (if any) turnover and exceptional, loving, round the clock care. Silverado TO has a high rate of turnover which is always a red flag. But again, maybe there is better management than there was a year ago (which was basically nothing/nobody in charge). Bottom line, do your homework and read about Silverado TO (or any other place you are researching) on the Department of Social Services webpage...educate yourself before you make the decision. I wish somebody had told us about that prior to moving our dad in two years ago. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way, so I'm writing this revives to help others as they navigate the process. Also, I don't want a reply from the current management trying to defend yourselves because you don't know our situation. We left when Silverado was literally falling apart and they had to bring in one of the top Directors from another state help turn the place around. You cannot defend what is on the Determent of Social Services website, and if you do, then you're part of the problem as well and obviously a contributor perpetuating the problems that existed there when my father was there. Navigating Alzheimer's is difficult enough. Losing a parent to Alzheimer's is devastating and life altering. Knowing they're in a safe environment where they're genuinely loved and cared for is what the resident and the family deserve. Unfortunately, Silverado was not that place for my dad and for us. read more

Silverado staff helped to ensure my mothers needs were met, and that we were comfortable with the protocol for care and a senior with memory issues. We were left with a strong knowledge that all the staff care for the seniors living there; from the maintenance workers, to the food and cleaning staff, everyone cares for, shows respect for, and is loving towards the resident. We have had positive experiences at Silverado, and appreciate the responsiveness and timeliness in addressing any issues raised. After my father was hospitalized due to horrible neglect at Westlake's supposedly newest, finest modern assisted living and memory care facility. We were introduced to Silverado TO. Coming up on a year now, my father has been well cared for. This is a memory Care facility only, and they have the experience to deliver the care needed for people with demectia/alzheimers. He is well fed ( The food quality here is pretty good. and visitors meals are free. ) bathed regularly, shaved, hair combed, teeth brushed, and dressed. They are caring, and spend time with dad just chatting and being good company to him. There have been no serious issues requiring hospitalization, and at 90 has not experienced a health decline. The staff are cheerful and happy to help with any needs or address any concerns. I am able to sleep at night, knowing he is cared for. read more

Horrible place. Put my friend there. she went almost a month without being bathed. She slept in her street clothes. Her teeth were never brushed. They kept telling me she was being bathed until I finally got the truth out of them. Her underwear had not been changed for over a week. Horrible horrible place. As soon as we entered the door we were greeted with such kindness and thoughtful people. The place is clean and everything seems brand new. With Ronda Wilkins, the Administrator at the helm of the facility, Silverado is in great hands, Her knowledge of dementia, combined with being compassionate and patient is impressive.
