Not sure if anyone will ever read this, but the customer service given me by Camaro was above and beyond expectations. I had an issue with a very old hiking pole (Komperdell) and Richard sent me a replacement part for one that had been broken in Iceland. I know it is common to expect the least from companies, and in at least this case I received the best possible resolution. read more

I felt exceptionally well-cared for and safe throughout certification and look forward to the Advanced Open Water course coming up and the very cool international and club dives they have planned.

My 1st club dive though did not go well for me, due to my inexperience and I think partly due to shortcomings in my OW instruction. The DM, Dave, though was excellent. He was very patient, supportive and helpful to me. Soon after, I took the AOW class with Dave. I found him to be a great instructor who is willing to take the time I needed to really learn the skills being taught - and does it with a good sense of humor.

With an upcoming trip to Baja Sur, I decided this was the time and was initially looking at outfits in Mexico when I just so happened to check local prices here in the PNW. I was surprised to find that Underwater Sports offered the most affordable PADI certification I had seen, half the cost of some dive companies in Baja. When I went to check out the shop, I was immediately impressed with the staff, who were all friendly, knowledgeable, & passionate about diving. It felt right, so I booked the Open Water Diver course. This proved to be a very good decision as our instructor, Jaiden, and her assisting Dive Masters (Frank & Jason) were all equally skilled, friendly, and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was professional but never stiff. I was confident that Jaiden and our Dive Masters always knew what they were doing and had our safety as their top priority, but they also were very relatable and easy to talk to. The experience was an entirely positive one, from beginning to end, and while I was already certain that I would love diving, I am now equally certain that I have found a community that I will continue to share that love with. I highly recommend Underwater Sports in Federal Way for anyone interested in crossing over to the other side of the water's surface. A lot of it was about the downtown Seattle buildings, Space Needle, buildings and parks by the shore, the sea ports and many other cool facts along the way. I throughly enjoyed the hour long tour. The weather was also fantastic to take stunning pictures of the downtown, the mountains and the port. They also had a bar in second level where they served alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, pop corn and some small snacks. Prices were decent for it being a tourist activity. We liked both popcorn and the strawberry lemonade.

I'm not a big fan of single-brand "concept" stores. They tend to be characterless and uninviting…read more This was no exception. I walked in. The salesperson was finishing up with another customer. I was then promptly ignored as other customers walked in the door and he started talking to them (despite the fact that I was standing right in front of the salesperson). I was actually interested in getting a new floor pump. I was waiting for the sales guy to stop even for just as second to say, "are you doing okay?", but nope. I guess I didn't rate for whatever reason. Perceived fitness level, income....? I checked out the floor pumps. They didn't seem to be particularly well made, although the Dual Charger gets good reviews online. No reaction from the sales person as he dealt with other people and ignored me. I heard guys in the back, service area, talking, talking, talking. Did the one sales guy holler to the back and get someone to come out since he apparently can only deal with one customer at a time? Nope. I started to make my way out but stopped to look at the shoes that had clearance signage, but couldn't actually get at them because they were blocked by multiples bikes still in boxes shoved up against the shoe display. One more chance for anyone in the store to try to sell me something. I didn't even get a "thanks for stopping in". This is a real shame. A Trek was the first "real" bike I bought with my own money as a teenager. I have fond memories of Trek. I'm just getting back into cycling again. I actually have money to spend at this stage of my life. The single most important thing you can do in retail is acknowledge and greet the customer. And as the saying goes, you only have one chance to make a first impression. I bought a pump elsewhere, as well as some jerseys and shorts. (Full disclosure: if I seem a little harsh, I worked in bicycle and outdoor retail for 10 years, as a tech, service manager and store manager. I used to be quite passionate about cycling, hence I have opinions.)

As I shared the serial number over the phone, the staff person was not able to locate it in the computer. The rationale was that if the bike fell between a timeframe of specific years there was no record. The associate appeared helpful and listed the colors of the bikes by year and suggested I go on eBay or another site I don't recall to look up the bike. Now, there's nothing wrong with the over the phone service and the staff seemed like they did their job. Having worked in customer service and sales, I've had associates take down my name and number, do some research, and locate the a skew and model. I've also had associates ask me if there was anything they could do to help further make the customer experience stand out? This could be, come in the shop. I can talk to you about the warranty to see if anything is covered, or feel free and send me pics via email to send to corporate. The funny thing is, recycled cycles pulled up the picture of the bike, eyeballed the year and gave me price of the worth in 5 minutes. Even though they didn't work for Trek they knew their bikes. As a potential Trek customer, I hope that staff are trained to know about the history of the products they are selling and not just the latest models. I hope this can be a learning opportunity at Trek to please try a little harder as this experience needs a tune up.

Overall, Steel Lake is a fantastic local resource that offers something for everyone and remains one of the best places in the area to spend a relaxing day outdoors.

The best part is you can visit their website and you can check if the water is okay for the kids to play with . There's usually an update regarding if you can swim and such. The only thing I'm worried about is when there is no one there to facilitate the other kids swimming, because I noticed there were lots of kids who goes there without their parents or guardians. The cops do come around for their rounds sometimes, but not all the time . I always have my eyes on my kids because there were sooooooo many people and soo many kids during school break holidays and I can't even imagine summer break. If you want to entertain your kids for hours bring them here and just have a picnic and enjoy the sand with the kids. Don't forget the shovel and bucket though lol.
