We recently purchased a smoker and were so excited to smoke some meat on the upcoming weekend. We decided on buying meat from a butcher to smoke. Looked up nearby places on the internet, and the only one open near us was Top Choice Meats. They received great reviews, so we decided to give them a shot. They're located in a strip mall with plenty of parking available. We were greeted as we walked in (always a good sign). The inside was very clean and organized. The young lady who helped us was super helpful and knowledgeable with all questions asked. We decided on a brisket, but the one in the case was around 8 lbs, which was way too big for just the two of us. She offered to cut it in half. Perfect! We got home, made a rub, and smoked it for about 4 hrs on 250°. Once the internal temperature reached 195°, we removed it to let it rest for about an hour. We sliced it and wow, oh wow, it was outstanding! The flavor of the meat was amazing. We were very happy with our first smoke. Since our first visit was great, we came back this weekend for steak and brats! We would definitely recommend this butcher. We look forward to trying more cuts of meat in the future.

An hour or so later, I fulfilled my promise, and the both of us spend the next 20-30 minutes browsing, and conversing with the (very pleasant) shop owner. All oils and vinegars are available for sampling, as well as a sizeable selection of salts and seasonings. There are also pasta sauces and noodles, chocolates, olives and other pickled vegetables, mustards, jellies, and similar culinary accoutrement. Among my wife's favorites were several fruit-based balsamic vinegars which, when mixed with soda water, create some tasty, low-calorie beverages that also are great for treating the persistent heartburn and indigestion she was experiencing during pregnancy. Considering my other favorite oil and vinegar shop is a five-hour drive away in Leavenworth, having Navidi's in our backyard is a blessing, and a guaranteed regular stop for us throughout the year.
