Good to know: * Local produce, products, and gifts * Has a pour license!! There are beers on tap in the back near the meat counter * Accepts cash, card, and Apple Pay/tap to pay I love this little country store and stop by every once in a while to get fresh produce and maybe a little gift. I couldn't do my regular grocery shopping here, because they don't have everything I need, but I love supporting this business when I can. Sometimes the prices can be high compared to larger grocery stores, but I greatly prefer to support smaller businesses. Among the locally grown produce, you will find hand made gifts, chocolates, locally produced pies and wines, a wide selection of meats, local brews and a TAP! I never noticed it before, but on my most recent visit there was a tap in the back with a small bar and just a few stools. I was delighted to find extra large apples for 99 cents per pound, and acorn squash, along with the most amazing wax melt for our wax warmer (a bit pricey at $3.99, but quickly has become my favorite and I will be back for more) read more

In recent months, I had been making extra effort to do as much of my shopping here as possible to support them. They were a great asset to the Battle Ground community. That is, until I walked in the other day and found their bar fully operational amid the strictest closures thus far and the highest covid cases of the year. They were serving people at their bar, no masks, no distancing. When I asked them under what regulations or exemptions they were allowed to open when everyone else is closed, the employee just told me "My boss says we can open and I just do what he tells me." I will never go back here again. Too much of their produce is just the same mass-produced stuff you can find at any grocery store anyway, taken out of its package, and marked up. Even if you were not in favor of masks, think about it: If they are willing to illegally open without precautions when 400,000 people are dead of covid, what other health and safety regulations are they violating, for example in their butcher shop? They do carry quality products, I'll give them that, but their prices are outrageous! We did end up grabbing a few specialty items, but that's because we had enough shopping for the day. I'd say on average, their produce is 40-50% higher than average & meat is probably 50-60% markup from similar shops within 20 miles. I like shopping here whenever I am driving through. During the 2020 days we shopped here weekly. Even though it was a hour round trip drive we would look forward to making the trip. Their meat is fresh and exceptionally butchered. The local sauces and canned foods are excellent. The fruit was local and fresh. Try the Suzie's Taco Sauce. It's a new family favorite. We like the store and everyone who works their. They take pride in their work and helping the community. It's something you will not find at the big box grocery stores. Stop in and find new things. Try local companies. Oh and the wine section is very good. They know who pours the best. read more

I love most everything about this place until the COVID pandemic started. They have a very ignorant stance on mask wearing from the owner on down. The place is small and cramped. An employees husband got confrontational the other day with a shopper who asked him to put his mask on. Very inappropriate and ignorant. Its a small thing to ask for the safety of others. However, we will not go there any longer, young girl was cleaning in grocery side, came over to help in meat dept Not only did she not wash her hands, but didn't put on gloves!!! BEST place to shop! Meat selection is perfect. Hardly shop at Fred meyer or anywhere else for that matter. I'll do all the shopping I can at Bg produce. Also what's so great about them is that they honor the governors orders! (Keep in mind it's not a law, it's an order) and they clearly have read the business guidelines from gov inslee. Last page last section of the guidelines state that "some people are not able to wear face coverings." Since I am immune compromised I can't afford the risk of wearing a mask and breeding bacteria and viruses that would lead me to get a terrible upper respiratory infection. It's bad enough that they aren't requiring customers to mask up, but the young woman employee ringing up sales (and touching your food!!!) was not wearing a mask. In the 5 seconds I was there before I noticed this and turned around and walked out, I saw several customers also not masked up. read more

This "farmer stand" is absolutely amazing! From the larger-than-life Honeycrisp apples to the locally crafted cheese wheels, I was amazed. The staff is so lovely and accommodating. They are there to help you or just to chat (one of the great charms of a small-town farmer's produce shop). It is also so great to know we are supporting a local business when shopping here. The prices are great the food is fresh and delicious, and the people are so nice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! The stuff is ridiculously overpriced, but more concerning then that was the lack of hygiene! Guy behind the counter was not wearing any gloves or a mask. He went and touched his face, the phone, and the counter after touching raw meat and he never once washed his hands. Anyone with a proper food handlers card would know that you have to wash your hands in between touching raw food and any other surface! This guy never did, he just contaminated everything. It is a cramped store and with COVID-19 surging and masks being required in stores you would think they would uphold to the regulations. Instead not one staff member or vendor was wearing a mask and almost every customer besides myself wasn't wearing a mask. If I could give this place zero stars I would! Do not step foot in this place, it is a rip off and highly unsanitary! read more

No hygiene as others have pointed out. Today I was in the store when 2 ladies with dogs came in. One dog peed on the floor near the cash register and all they did was step on it with a towel for a few seconds. Next thing I knew one of the ladies, whom was just playing and petting the dogs, got behind the counter to start checking me out, WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS FIRST! I went in this store for the first time today and it will be my last. The guy behind the meat counter was not wearing a mask or gloves! He touched his face, nose and phone then helped us. this review is strictly for the meat departme t and the beer selection. they offer painted hills brand of meat here. I love coming here to pickup some great tasting meats. they do an excellent job with the cuts. my favorite is a burgundy peppercorn tri tip. the prices for meat are very fair, and you get a great quality. they also have a great tap area. to sit and have a beer or cider, or just stop in and get your growler filled. they also have a great selection of bottled and canned micro brew, and a small but good selection of wine. read more

I will not go here again due to I went there today and the man behind the meat counter was the only worker wearing a mask properly. There was another older lady worker wearing one but had it pulled down under her mouth. The younger girl who was running the cash register had no mask on at all. There was also a beer delivery guy from Maletis not wearing a mask. Maybe COVID 19 hasn't hit Battle Ground yet but in the lower 48 it is a real thing. This isn't political, it is the law. I have been shopping at Battle Ground Produce for quite a few years. Their produce and meats are the best, hands down. I received a call tonight telling me that they would be closed New Year's Day but they could meet me there at anytime for me to pick up my turkey. I loved the meat market and produce at this wonderful little store. Went in today for my usual 5 lbs of peppered bacon and a few other items and the man behind the meat counter was wearing his mask... on his chin. I politely reminded him that "it goes over the nose". He glared at me and pulled it up, then packaged up my five pounds of bacon. After getting it, I went to check out and noted there was a second person behind the meat counter, also wearing their mask over their chin. How insulting. I asked the lady at the check stand if they had a policy on masks, to which she replied, in effect, that "everybody has to wear a mask". I pushed my merchandise away and told her that I'd shop elsewhere. She replied, "I just work here. I'm not the owner." To the blond racer guy: I'll miss visiting with you from time to time and miss shopping at your store, but listen up, wearing a mask doesn't count if it's under your chin, around your elbow, or over your left foot. I wear a mask in public... not for me, but for thee. Although it's too late for me, you might try to save other regular customers by being a little smarter and a little less insulting to your public. After moving up to North Clark County from Portland, I was thrilled to find Battle Ground Produce...but not necessarily for the produce. While the fruit & veggie selection is fine, I come here weekly for their excellent butcher counter. Painted Hills beef, Carlton Farms pork, Draper Valley chicken --- and usually at better prices than Fred Meyer's factory farm pickings. Most of the staff is friendly and accommodating, and they have a nice selection of gourmet packaged products too. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a little better quality meat than you can find at the supermarkets. read more

I checked out this place yesterday for the first time. I was immediately welcomed very warmly by the nice lady at the register, and again at the meat counter by the meat dude. I am really impressed with the meat selection here, tri tip is one of my favorite cuts of beef ever and they had like four different marinated styles of it. Really cool. They also have really nice looking steaks of all varieties. Ready to heat and eat twice baked potatoes looked bomb, I wish I would have got some. The veggies and fruits all looked great as well, most of it is local! Pretty decent pricing on that end, I'm not gonna lie the meat is expensive. They feature painted hills beef, which is a really good source, but it will cost you. But if you're like me paying a few extra smackers for a really quality steak is totally worth it. So it's like this: do you like really fresh quality ingredients, and get tired of supermarkets? Is it worth a handful of singles extra to stay away from them and have superior service?
