The first "red flag" was when elderly management staff member, Tina Slover, began requesting that I do additional community service, despite being a full-time student. Tina Slover would go on to harass and inflict emotional distress upon me over the next four years of living there, taking a tremendous toll on my health.
In 06/11, I was accepted by Pinewoods. I always remained positive, despite being insulted multiple times by Slover on the first day we met. Luckily when I first moved in, the lease at my other apartment did not end until 09/11, which meant that I had both places for the months of June, July, and most of August 2011. The other apartment that I lived in had central air conditioning, a garbage disposal, dishwasher, and other amenities that that townhouse did not have, so I did not move into the townhouse until 08/2011. To my surprise, I had already my first false report from Tina Slover (dated 06/13/11) claiming that my children and I "make too much noise in the middle of the night," despite the fact that none of us had never lived there before. When I explained this to Slover, Slover became angry and requested additional paperwork from me to prove that I still had my other apartment, which I was able to prove without any problems, furthering Slover's unexplained anger towards me.
I received a second, false report on 01/04/12 claiming that I had cigarette butts all over the ground in both the front & back of my place. Once again, unknown to Slover, I did not smoke and Slover was actually referring to cigarettes being flicked onto my property by my next-door neighbor on the right side. I was forced to pick all of them up anyway, so that I wouldn't have to pay a fine!
During the end of summer, '11, I had noticed that the main bathroom's toilet flushed very slowly and seemed to be of difficulty. The silver lining was the fact that I felt as if I were slowly becoming an expert at plunging toilets. I also had more than one relative snake the toilet. On 11/05/12, the toilet was clogged and plunging it was worsening it. I called maintenance to snake the toilet. Maintenance was able to pull out several pencils that had the name of a Baptist Church on them. Slover did not care that these pencils were not ever owned by me or my children. Slover also did not care that I had been struggling with said toilet for months, at that point, and even went through with sending me a $60 repair bill, which I paid, of course!
I began traveling / staying other places with my children on a more regular basis to escape that much more of the harassment endured by neighbors, as well as Tina Slover. After being out of town from March 17, 2013 to March 23, 2013, I came back to receive a third, false report. It was dated March 22, 2013, and claimed that I made too much noise in the middle of the night. I went into the office and told Slover that we had been out of town, causing Slover to request proof of everything. I went out of my way again as usual to prove the report to be false, just as the first two were. Slover seemed angry that I was able to prove that I was not there, and began insulting me. As I could feel another seizure coming on, I quickly left the office (crying) to hurry back to my place. I then fainted on the living room floor almost immediately after entering my place.
I had become close friends with my next-door neighbor on the left side. The neighbor on the right side had a teenage son that frequently smoked marijuana inside his mother's/his place. This was not bothersome until I received my fourth false report on May 16, 2013 claiming that my neighbor (mother of actual marijuana smoker) claimed that she was smelling marijuana coming from MY townhouse. Also unknown to Slover, I was home the LEAST during this month (of all months lived there), as my sister's son had just tragically died within hours of being born around the beginning of the month, which was one of the hardest, and most confusing deaths I had ever dealt with.
I received an additional FOUR, false complaints - one each year - in addition; claiming that my "satellite dish is installed incorrectly." I had never used any cable company other than Comcast, as I was able to receive it for free, due to my father being an employee for Comcast for approximately 40 years. Each year, I would bring in all of my Comcast bills to show Slover that I do NOT have a dish, though Slover decided to ignore said information. In total, Slover had issued me at least nine false reports within the four years that I lived there.
In June 2015, Tina Slover evicted us, as I was unable to provide x amount of hours of community service that I was allegedly missing. I graduated with my bachelor's of science in legal studies, but by then I had been given 5 years to live and had to give my babies up for
