After five great years here, I'm now alone having lost my husband three months ago. It's a blessing to be here where the management cares and never fails to smile and respond to any problems the very same day! This is a lovely building in a neighborhood, not a commercial area. Yet we are close to everything. I feel safe here no matter the time of day or night. Big plus.....concrete walls! Hardly ever hear anything other than your own TV. When anyone asks me where I live, I'm proud to say, "At Oxford Park Towers!"

Surrounded by fun places and things to do and also lots of great shopping. You can also walk to many places. So as far as location goes, this is a great city to live in. If you love the Dream Cruise, Vinsetta's Garage and Arts Beats and Eats, you will love this location, The actual towers were a huge disappointment during the time I lived there. They are not elegant in the least, nor are they comfortable or functional. They are old and run down, and the decor on the floors very dated, dark and dismal. I lived here a year and the carpeting on the individual floors were never cleaned. The furniture in all the sitting areas were urine stained. The storage areas smelled old and musty. The laundry room only had 2 washers and 2 dryers on each floor and there were 32 residents per floor. The washers and dryers were the old kind that ruin your clothes. Thank goodness for the dry cleaner on Woodward. I am not handicapped, but for those that are, this is NOT the place you want to call home as they have no special amenities for the handicapped. They struggle to maneuver in and around the establishment. I am a young active senior, and to me, this place borders on being an assisted living facility. Incontinence and dementia will be seen on a daily basis, and then there are the residents you never see because they have 24 hour nursing staff that cares for them. They have physical therapists, social workers and doctors that visit the residents also. I think their advertising needs to be revised. The people of the towers, most of them, are very wonderful, kind, compassionate individuals. You will also find the "popular crowd" and lots of gossip just like in High School. I interacted with very few people as I knew a few months into my lease I would not be renewing. Smoking is allowed in the building in the apartments. The lobby, elevators and floors reek of cigarette smoke. It's horrible to be a non smoker and smell smoke in your apartment. You will see the grounds littered with trash and cigarette butts. The stairwells are full of dead bugs and never get mopped. I love the stairs, but this was nasty to see on a daily basis. Parking is another issue. They will not assign parking spaces and it's always a gamble whether or not you will get a spot to park in the parking lot. I went out a lot as I am very active and have a fun life and friends outside of the towers. They have off street parking but there is vandalism/smashing car windows so you don't want to park on the side street. The problem is family, friends, nursing aids, therapists, doctors and social workers visit residents and park in the resident parking. For an entire year they have said they were going to enforce the "tow away" policy but never have. Also you have people who probably should not be driving and they take up more than one space because their driving capabilities are diminished. This building, while I lived there had on my floor, and supposedly still has bed bugs. I understand protecting the privacy of the tenant that has the bed bugs, however I think the other tenants in the building have a right to know and they do not tell you. You will find out through the grapevine and hope they don't come visit your apartment. They keep the garbage dumpsters right under tenant balconies in the parking lot area. Who wants to look outside and see dumpsters. And the noise of the garbage trucks constantly! I lived on the courtyard side and my view was dead trees. The grounds are full of dead and untrimmed tress with disease. It's quite sad as the place does have a lovely setting if it were properly maintained. The common picnic area hasn't had any tables/chairs/umbrella's in 2 years. I heard all last year that they're ordered and waiting for delivery. Many residents here never leave the premises and it would be nice if this company provided them with some outdoor furniture for some outdoor enjoyment. I can't image this atmosphere here is conducive to the well being of many of it's handicapped/non driving residents. They have a huge grill but no one can use it unless one of the maintenance men are present. Why have a grill and hear all about the wonderful amenities here if you can't use something? They have 2 elevators and one is constantly out of order. I've heard through the grapevine they shut one down to save energy. Hopefully they never have an emergency that warrants both elevators working as the building would be hard pressed to have both working at the same time. Their sprinkling system does not work. Instead of paying professionals to fix them, they have the maintenance men attempt a job they are not qualified to accomplish. This place is even too cheap to have the parking space lines retouched professionally. This will be continued, I am out of space!

Money from large donations were put into sprucing up the common areas to attract new tenants. You are offered an inadequate continental breakfast 5 mornings a week. My loved one has been eating the same oatmeal and a half a bagel for years. There is a charge for eggs or pancakes. You also receive only 2 free dinners a month offered Monday through Thursday only. Kitchen help and food is from a Kosher Catering off sight service. My loved one has experienced abusive treatment by one of their servers twice. It was reported and this server remains employed. Food is very expensive and hit or miss. For what they charge you can do much much better elsewhere.

The community was quiet, the grounds beautifully maintained and maintenance issues were resolved quickly. Snow removal was swiftly and efficiently completed. The leasing process was smooth and re-leasing and the move-out process was also simple and fair. The management and staff take pride in the community and their responsibilities and it shows. This is the only apartment I ever felt sad to leave! I highly recommend.

The management of the property at the office is essentially useless. I've lived here for 18 years…read morenow and it's very sad to see the decline of property, as well as how the office/association/property managers are treating loyal homeowners. Unfortunately, I will likely need to contact every news station AGAIN about the latest and greatest situation. I have a bee colony living under the siding on my balcony, possibly between the walls, in my storage unit and continuing to multiply. However, I had to pay $200 out of pocket today since their pest control didn't show up yesterday when I worked from home as agreed with the office two weeks prior. Problem still isn't resolved, spraying alone is not working and the office suggested waiting 2 more weeks to see if their pest control actually shows up. Meanwhile, the infestation is growing and potentially more damage is being done. I also cannot use my storage unit or even look inside, nor use my balcony. Way to enjoy summer! Avoid this property if at all possible. You'll be much happier and treated better elsewhere!
