Unfortunately, I didn't quite finish my meal in time before the next party arrived, but instead of rushing me, they graciously moved me to the bar so I could enjoy my dessert. What really struck me was the atmosphere. While I was sitting there, several people popped in just to say hello to the staff, which speaks volumes about how welcoming and family-esque this place feels. Hands down some of the best wait staff I've experienced. The food was fantastic. I had the ham croquettes, white wine, and churros with chocolate and having just been in Barcelona recently, I can honestly say this was the closest I've found to authentic tapas in London. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in London. A gem of a place with heart, hospitality, and incredible food.

We opted for indoor sheeting and the decor was that of a trendy restaurant in Spain. Bold wall colors and eclectic art. The staff was super attentive and informative about wine selections/recommendations. We ordered tapas instead of main courses. The salmon nigiri was unexpected from the menu but fantastic. The patatas bravas were in a reimagined state that at first glance had me wondering if some ingredients were missing. I stood corrected the minute I tried a piece - the "brava" sauce component is cleverly disguised and each portion was the perfect bite. Some other favorites were the pan con tomate, ham croquettes, and oxtail sliders. Overall, the ambience and meal was excellent. I would not classify this as a fusion restaurant, because they've stuck quite close to the mark when it comes to traditional Spanish tapas, but they've definitely put a modern spin on the classics and added some innovate new offerings.

Sabroso caters for a more sophisticated clientele and should be very popular with the more conservative Holland Park set. Back to breakfast, though, which was great albeit not particularly Spanish. I have never been given the choice of half an English breakfast before and just couldn't resist I'm scared to imagine what size the full portion would have been as the half was very generous and good value at £4.95. A vegetarian alternative is also available (full size only), as well as the usual egg-based dishes. Sabroso offers a soothing alternative to the aforementioned cafes which are dominated by yummy mummies and their offspring at this time of day.
