We made our travel plans very last minute so our hotel options were limited due to the holiday weekend. We normally stay at the Country Inn & Suites when we travel because they consistently provide the amenities we like. But we ended up booking the last room at a hotel in Elyria that was close to friends and our destination. Unfortunately our stay was completely unsatisfactory. The property was poorly maintained and the specific amenities that we rely on when we travel were inadequate. So we decided to find another hotel for our final night and stumbled upon the Cambria. It had our preferred amenities so we decided to give a try. We didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The property was extremely well maintained and peaceful. The staff was warm and helpful. And our room was excellent. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room layout was great for our two young kids. The pool was the cleanest hotel pool I've ever been in and the towels were kept fully stocked. We loved the fire pit and the pool table. And not only were there cookies in the lobby but also an apple pie for Memorial Day! And my husband LOVED the coffee provided in the library. We only had one small issue with our tv remote and it was addressed promptly. I have to specifically acknowledge Dominique at the front desk. She was extremely courteous and helpful at both check in and check out. We will definitely stay at the Cambria the next time we visit Cleveland. read more

I've stayed at this Cambria Hotel a couples times for extended weekends when visiting family in Avon. The best part about the hotel: Mitchell's ice cream is walking distance!!! It's also right next door to Costco and ranges about $115-$130/night. The hotel is nice overall, with a big fitness room, indoor pool and hot tub, two outdoor patios with fire pit and complimentary fruit infused water, coffee and tea. They have a paid buffet breakfast option, bar and dinner options. The breakfast buffet runs about $10/person, adult drinks average $7 or more minimal, I didn't try any of the dinner options, but there is a free appetizer coupon if you check-in on Yelp. The downside of my stay was the room service. My family was staying in about seven different rooms, and we all received very different experiences, but none too good. The cleaning service would consistently show up at different times or not at all. Various of us had to request them to come bring us clean towels, toilet paper, etc. because they didn't show-up some days. Additionally, sheets were supposed to be changed on the third day of your stay, which did not happen. One of the reasons I love staying in a hotel, is that I finally have someone else doing these simple tasks that I do daily at home. Came and stayed for 5 nights around Christmas and was very happy with my stay. Rooms were at $90 a night average and had two queen beds. Room- Rooms were nice and comfortable, and quite spacious. Nice mini bar area with a nice mini fridge. Two TV's and nice small desk area. Shower was also very nice and spacious. Overall- Staff were extremely friendly and cleaning staff did an amazing job. Bar staff were not bad and drinks were $7-10 for cocktails. Also had a nice pool table in the lobby along with nice chairs and sitting area when waiting for a group to be ready and meet. Decent locale, and some cool little places around to eat. Pro tip- if you want a nice dinner Nemo, which is down the street is amazing! I will definitely be back and stay here again when in town. read more

Excellent stay! Ample parking, comfortable beds, about 20 - 25 minutes from the city center, lots of convenient stores in the area (grocery, department stores, drug stores, etc.) The hotel was spotless and staff was friendly - kudos to the late night bar tenders who were extremely friendly, even into the wee hours of the night. I always saw someone cleaning something at every moment - and it definitely showed and smelled like it was kept clean. Even the elevator smelled good! Sometimes when your friends and family had full houses around the holidays it is easier to stay in a hotel for you and for them and I made a great choice staying at the Cambria Hotel. This was my first time staying at this chain and it might become a part of my holiday tradition because I got a great experience. The hotel is clean, fresh, and modern from the lobby to the rooms and everything in between. The staff was attentive, friendly, and actually seemed to enjoy working with and interacting with the guests. Management has set high standards for their employees, operations, and the guest experience and they have trained, planned at, and set things up to run like clock work. I didn't eat or drink at the bar, but scanned the menus and there are definitely some things I would consider trying at a future visit. Very nice hot tub, pool, and work out room for guests. Plenty of parking and nearby ammenities from shopping to food and entertainment. Rooms are large and uncluttered. I like the double televisions, but would have liked a bigger one by the couch area of the room. Like the laptop desks. Only knocks are I thought they were a little pricey but you get what you pay for and I didn't feel I wasted my money. No problems recommending this hotel to anyone that has guests visiting, looking to take an in-town stay-cation, or for someone that is just passing through. This really is a great hotel and I will consider the Cambria brand hotel at another location without hesitation. read more

This is a nice hotel as we have been here before, however I always investigate the bedding and found something that appeared to look like a booger on the pillowcase. No, it was a booger I have the pic but I don't want to embarrass the hotel owners as I still like this place maybe we thought cleaning staff sneezed I don't know , either way it was gross we let them know and got some new bedding and slept comfortably. The Cambria is relatively new and conveniently located near where I needed to work for a week in Avon. From the looks of it the place was perfect. No problem booking a 5 night stay online and it was less expensive than hotels that were in Westlake. Walked it an the interior was nice, nothing exceptional, but better than a most similarly priced hotels I've stayed at. But then I got to my room... Within the first few minutes I heard the kids in the room above me running around and jumping on things. Either they were going nuts or the ceiling was so thin, the sound was unbearable. Late night (after 11) and early morning (before 6 a.m.) the noise continued most of the week. I've traveled a lot for work, stayed at dozens and dozens of hotels, and this was the first time I've ever complained about another guest. Complaining didn't do anything, and the noise continued for most of my stay. In the end I complained several times then finally at 11 p.m. on my last night there, the desk person offered to move my room. I had to be up at 4 a.m. to catch a flight, so it wasn't worth the hassle. So either the construction isn't soundproofed enough or they staff doesn't know how to handle problem guests. Despite the location, I won't be staying again. There's a Hampton Inn two exits away. And a new hotel going in across the street from the Hampton. I've got options. The Cambria isn't going to be one of them. read more

I stayed here while traveling for work and I was pleasantly surprised. I only booked here because my preferred hotel was already booked, and I'm so glad I did! My room was awesome. I slept better than I had in months. Super comfy bed, nice clean linens and lots of space in the room. The room was so quiet, even with a bachelorette party just a few rooms down, I didn't hear a thing! This hotel has an excellent location as well! Pretty much anything you could want is less than a mile away. It shares a parking lot with a few restaurants also. I ate at Hecks one night and it was good, the 45* bar looked fun as well. I would like to note that the breakfast is not included in your room rate, but since I was using my employee rate, it was included for me and many others who were traveling with employers. I travel to the west side of Cleveland often, but this was my first stay at the Cambria. The staff is attentive and friendly, provides towels and linens promptly and is knowledgable about the area. The pool is awesomely warm, which these old bones appreciated and the outdoor fire pit is a nice touch, even though it drew smokers instead of romantic couples. The gym is nicely appointed and well used, but there weren't any antibacterial sprays or wipes to clean off the equipment.. The elevator is in an odd location. Every time the doors open, everyone in the restaurant turns to look at you.. And as you come from the gym or pool, sopping wet, they watch you get back on. The room was clean and fresh, but didn't seem an efficient use of space. The two room suite was nice, but the bedroom was too small and the 'living room' too big. The bathroom was an oasis of relaxation, but could have used a hook or two to hang bathing suits or towels on. Nothing against Mr. Puck's in-room coffee, but I'm pretty sure if he tasted it, he would take it off the market. The hotel strives to also give you a total olfactory experience, what with the freshly baked cookies, restaurant so close to the door, and scenty fan thingies in the pool area. It was a tad overwhelming. As this area builds up. I see this hotel gaining much new business. It has its quirks, but then so do its guests. I hope it can hold its own. read more

I checked in this room got dressed went to casino few hours later the hotel was calling saying the radio was loud we explained we didn't bring a radio it was the alarm clock radio and we would be back shortly when we returned she had already went in the room to turn it off and told me that she called police to get my belongings and I would not be refunded because of the there radio on there alarm was to loud I was discriminated against from the time I tried to check in I forgot my id so I ask can my wife put the room in her name and use her credit card one lady said yes and the other lady walked behind her and made a big issue also my wife has a expensive bracelet missing ang her black dress shoes they are saying they haven't found it but it was there n we were rushed to leave on arrival at 3 am very upset we purchased a Jacuzzi room that we didn't even get to use we literally got dressed and went to the casino and was asked to leave when we got back 257 was taking from us and a horrible night we work extremely hard for our money and couldn't believe this happened to us not to consider they allowed 40 white ppl to drink an party n lobby but I was kicked out for a radio that barley turns up that belonged to them I will be calling the news and the bbb also read more

I had an amazing experience at Cambria Suites in Avon. The place couldn't have been more accommodating. The lobby was really nice, indoor fireplace, TV, and a room service available. There was a pool and and a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was really warm, which felt really good, and the pool was the perfect size and temperature. There was also a fitness center that overlooks the pool area. I liked the room, there was a lot of room, and there was a pull out bed inside the couch. There are many places to walk to, like restaurants, outdoor stores, and in easy walking distance. I enjoyed the outdoor propane fireplace, it was an enjoyable feature. Their breakfast was mediocre, but you get a good amount of options to choose from for the price. The attendant Olivia was really sweet, and she did a great job. I would highly recommend coming to Cambria Suites in Avon. read more

Nice lobby with a huge TV and sitting area. Outside patio with a seating area and a gas fire pit going. Pool and sauna were very nice. The rooms were great! Two beds with a sitting room in between the bathroom and beds. 2 TV s. Soap was from Bath and Body Works. Everybody was very nice as well. My experience was horrible, the front desk ladies were rude, cussing, and called the police because I wanted to make a complaint. I don't recommend family bring small children due to the fact the front desk ladies will scream and cuss at you if you are having issues with anything at the hotel. The hotel was nice however, I did not stay the whole night due to actions of the front desk. If you argue with them and they get caught lying which I caught them lying and giving me false names over the phone, they will call the police on you. Very nasty people representing a nice hotel, manipulative, condescending, and will snap at the drop of a dime. read more

Stayed here for a girls weekend. Loved the hotel, it's clean and smells good. The rooms have a great layout and the beds are very comfortable. There's a bar and a very nice patio with a fire pit. It's right behind Bar 145, I was worried about the noise from the live band, it was very loud outside, but no worries couldn't hear a thing. The only reason for 4 stars is breakfast is not included, and the rooms are on the pricey side so they could include a breakfast. They do have a full service restaurant with room service. read more

After a long day of driving, stumbled into this place almost on accident and was immediately blown away by the beautiful lobby and massive bar with a pool table. We had no reservations but Adrian immediately booked us two suites and gave us complimentary drink tickets. Even though the kitchen was closing, they squeezed out delicious Italian chicken wings so we wouldn't go to bed hungry. This is an excellent hotel, however, check to make sure the knocking noise has been taken care of before staying in room 304. It woke me up in the middle of the night and kept me up because it was knocking every 3 -4 minutes. At check out, upon mentioning the reason that I didn't get much sleep, the response was "sorry, I will have maintenance look at it" but a couple of days later the front office manager at the hotel called me after reading my feedback in their questionnaire and I was happy with how she rectified the situation. I appreciate that she followed up upon finding out that I was not satisfied with my stay. My husband and I liked the set-up and cleanliness of our room and we enjoyed the bar and free pool table in the hotel. We would stay there again if we return to the area. read more

Personally for what was paid for the room breakfast should be complimentary. Staff is friendly enough. Overall no other complaints beyond the breakfast. Won't honor quote, "talked to employee" and now no room queen room available--so no chance to stay at hotel and it is sad that they have POOR customer service. The Cambria in Avon was such a wonderful surprise! The staff, especially Millie, were all so helpful and kind. The room was super clean and the bed so comfortable. We actually returned to stay an extra day! Our family gathering spent a quiet evening around the outdoor fire pit talking and catching up. So much fun. We could even walk to live music next door and there is an ice cream store for the kids. Shopping is so close and within a couple miles there is the upscale Promenade shopping area. We will be back for my class reunion in the fall. Thank you for everything. When I got to my room the door was opened and a ladder with a disassembled light fixture were in the bathroom. Apparently a maintenance guy was replacing bulbs, no problem but the ancient fixture left rust all over the bathroom floor and sink. When I went to clean the very old sink it wobbled and is ready to fall off the wall. Worse yet this room has not tub! Just a hole in the floor for a drain. So every shower means mopping up after. And the floor to the bathroom is damaged, the carpeting torn at entrance. The room was very damp and smelled like a wet basement so I tried to open the ver old window but the track was full of dirt and dead insects so I couldn't even slide it open. Disgusting! I also ended up finding BEDBUGS! Just google "Super 8 Beachwood bedbugs" and see lots of other reports of this as well. Complaining got me nowhere so I'm left reporting this hotel to the health dept and the BBB. STAY AWAY! read more

Be aware of the fat lady and skinny lady at the front desk. They are nice till they get your money. Once you get to your room and get situated they are conspiring to try and kick you out. I caught them lying by falsifying their names, little did they know I can read their name tags on their shirts. They quickly turned into hot heads, cussing and screaming with foul language. I did not stay the whole night and left with the family. The next day I requested them to e-mail my receipt, never got it so I went to the hotel and obtained my receipt. Then requested to file a complaint, they cussed and yelled, "Get the fuck out of here", slamming things behind the desk and called the police as if they were victims. Other families in the lobby yelled at her to watch her language also. The police did nothing because I didn't do anything wrong, but he did give me a good tip to notify the GM. who I called and never got a response. So I have made complaints through Choice hotel website which is an on going case. Also will be in touch with the president of choice hotel. So disappointed in the behavior of these two woman, unprofessional, hot headed, and no class!!!! read more

Cambria was so bad I didn't even get a chance to stay. My fiance and I were looking into local Avon hotels for everyone to stay at for our wedding. When I had talked to Katie, she was very polite and helpful. She had told us our rate and that a shuttle service was available. Unfortunately Katie had went on vacation so I was left to deal with Alyssa, another event planner. We had agreed on a set number of rooms and rate and that I would come to the hotel to sign the contract. When I get to the hotel the next day to sign the contract, everyone standing at the front desk (5 people, including Millie, who pretended I wasn't even there for some reason, she wouldn't even look at me) had no clue what I was talking about. I said Alyssa had told me she left the contract at the front desk to sign. After about 10 minutes of fake looking for it, I was told I should just have it emailed and printed, it would be much easier. So later on, Alyssa calls me and says sorry she left it in her mail slot and nobody thought to look there. I told her no worries my fiance would print out the contract and I would drop it off on my next day off. On my next day off I go to drop off the contract but before signing I noticed the shuttle wasn't anywhere in the contract. I asked Alyssa about this and she said that unfortunately the shuttle has just been nothing but a hassle for them so they are discontinuing it. So not only did they lie to me about having a shuttle, but they also tried sliding it past me. Boy am I glad I caught that or Id be stranded on my wedding night too. Hey Cambria, If you can't even handle a simple shuttle, how can you manage a whole hotel. Quit lying and being snakes. read more
