Stepped in to our local for a $12 dinner. $12 Grilled fish turned into $18 when we substituted Chips & Salad for Mash & Veg. What the??? I can understand an extra cost if you ADD these items, but being charged $6 to substitute?? Ripoff. read more

Pre 10pm review…read more Heavy security presence but they are friendly and civil so who cares. The more family oriented balcony bar has good food, games and live music. The 'lounge bar' is comfortable with plenty of sports screens. Looks like it still needs some finishing but we'll on its way. Beer is ice cold and tastes good Post 10pm review. Beer is transferred to plastic, price boosted by over 2 dollars a scooner and the whole experience is soured. Couldn't wait to get out of there

With just one or two exceptions the staff showed complete indifference, bordering on rudeness, towards genuine concerns and queries from their patrons, some of whom are long term regular customers, and merely blindly cited and hid behind bureaucratic rules & regulations while refusing to even enter into any dialogue whatsoever. THIS VENUE IS AMATEURISH & POORLY STAFFED AND SHOULD NOT BE PATRONISED.

You can find a playground, fire pits and grass outside with plenty of seating. Camden Valley Inn also takes bookings which helps as it gets VERY busy early Sunday afternoon. The food menu sounds appetizing but the food falls short of being great pub food. If you're going to order food I would suggest sticking with the basics; schnitzels and burgers. They also don't make espresso martinis which makes me sad.

Hats off to the kitchen staff as the food that comes out of their is always cooked to perfection. My wife and I both had steaks that were incredible. The bar staff and gaming room staff also are always friendly and happy to help you out. It was not crowded at all (which can sometimes be a bad sign) but i think it was because it was a weeknight. I was actually not very hungry when we came here so my boyfriend and I shared potato wedges while everyone else ordered full meals. The food looked great though! Typical bar food consisting of your carbs and fried food. What was good about the bar was that there are three pool tables and I think it was $1 or $2 for a game or 2. The sign on the pool tables weren't very clear so the guy behind the counter had to explain to us. Overall, good experience.
Expensive for what it is - even with the view Went for lunch…read morethe other day. Service was lovely and the food generally tasty, however for the price it was very mean. Not just small but realy kids size. The battered fish and chips my dining partner had was a hefty $32.50 and for that you got a plate with an adult size portion of chips with a small kids side serve of fish (like only 3 small pieces no bigger than a small fish finger size). Maybe it should have been called chips and fish. The salad was again lovely but little short on the primary ingredient. We were in early for the lunch service so can't be put down to running out of the day's ingredients. Overall, nice views, friendly but not over bearing service, mean meals with an overly high price tag for what you get. Understand costs have risen - however when compared to the delicious fish and chips I had in North Sydney later that night whcih had 3 very large pieces equally well cooked with plenty of chips and fresh salad, it seems to put it all into perspective (there was so much I had to share!!) Finally - note this restaurant charges a surcharge for any credit cards, however there was not easily visible notice by their till when you go up to pay, and we were not advised when going to pay with credit card. These notices need to be bigger and more proactive but staff so there is no doubt. We found out only when the money was taken.

We both ordered Eggs Benedict, which arrived with beautifully soft poached eggs, in a fairly nice sauce, but all of it was luke warm at best. I am not sure if the waiter or the chef was to blame. The service was pretty lack lustre, and I am making a bet that the plates stayed on the path for a lot longer than would ensure a warm delivery. The views are pleasant, and the interior is nice. The prices are not bad, it cost us about $55.00 I think, and that included coffee, a juice and a glass of bubbles. Don't think I'd go back though, as we went out to a local cafe this morning, and the eggs benedict we had there were far superior. Hard to judge a restaurant just on a breakfast though. Nothing that was terribly bad, it was just that it was all so cold.

Yeah, I found that the staff to be reasonably friendly, and the atmosphere wasn't all that bad as well. Only one thing I can fault is the courtesy bus driver, who is extremely rude and complains. Understandably he doesn't have the easiest of jobs dealing with drunk patrons but his attitude is poor. Hopefully this was a one off situation and he enjoys his job regularly as you could tell on the night we used him he didn't want to be there. I'd of much rather of paid $10 for an uber home than deal with his whinging, this is the only reason I couldn't give a 5 star review. To end on a positive note I will say the security are outstanding and look after the patrons well and overall the Lapstone hotel is a safe, friendly environment.
