Camden St. Clair is a gated apartment community that sits at the corner of Briarcliff Road and Clairmont Road, but also runs along side of 85 and the access road. The leasing office is located on Briarcliff, along with two entrances, including the guest access and then there is another entrance on the other end of the community on the access road. I lived here for a total of 18 months in two different apartments. When I first moved in I was in a small 1 bedroom apartment and half way through my lease I upgraded to a larger 2 bedroom apartment when my partner and I decided to live together. The apartments are really great here. I had no complaints and actually really enjoyed both of the apartments I/we lived in here. Kitchens are well fitted with great appliances including a washer and dryer, the flooring and fixtures are well done and you get a good sized balcony with each unit! Staff was great as well. They were always welcoming, friendly and helpful. Amenities include the pool, clubhouse, dog park, car wash, business center and gym. The dog park was stellar for our little dude as he loved running around in there! Our favorite amenity was definitely the gym. It was a really well kept, clean, nicely stocked and spacious gym! The pool is a salt water pool and was great as well. However, they could use a few more seats and definitely another gas grill out there! Parking was really our only gripe while living here. They have a garage onsite to allow for over flow, but all the spaces filled up really quick and it was a true luxury to get a spot in front of your own building, especially if you came home after 430pm. Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable apartment communities we ever lived in. It certainly set the bar high for other places we went after we moved out. And the only reason we moved when we did is due to work...that Brookhaven to Kennesaw drive was just too much! read more

Loud music and gaming souround sound coming from neighbors upstairs during the day and after hours , called police 8 times in 1 month and complained at front office countless times without any result, Neibours also smoke Marijuana on a daily basis as is protruding throu wall cracks and electric outlet holes , also outside on the balcony frequently, nothing has been done in 3 months about this, it's a Non Smoking community, sad state of living conditions in this complex read more

Can't recommend this apartment. The price of electricity is insane. At my last apartment I paid about $60 per month, here it became $120 a month. And it wasn't only me, other residents were always posting on the in community site about why electricity was so expensive there. As soon as I left, my bill dropped back to the normal $60 range. Also I was mislead about parking, I toured the place during the summer of 2018, where I was told visitors could park anywhere. In fall 2018, management implemented a rule that visitors could only park in one of 6 spaces. Yes, that's 6 spaces for an apartment complex of like 300 apartments otherwise visitors get booted. When I moved in early 2019, I had no idea about this new ridiculous parking rule, until I picked up my keys and was handed my resident parking pass. read more

This place is amazing . When COVID became an issue and many people were let off from work.. Camden stepped in and sent out 1000 dollars to thousands of residents . The maintenance staff is amazing , I've never had to wait more than 24 hours to get anything fixed . If that , it usually only takes a few hours . Front office people are also very kind and are always eager to help with issues . I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a new place to live . read more

The Leasing Office, as well as Maintenance, are always on top of it. The community location is great as well with its back entrance/exit onto the frontage road for I-85. It makes commuting so much easier. The Leasing Office staff is always welcoming and they plan great little events throughout the year. I personally really like the wood floors, and my dogs love the dog park. Camden is a great company and this particular community is in such a great location in regards to getting around inside the perimeter, as well as getting outside the perimeter. read more

Sorry, this is tl;dr. I wish I could give 2 1/2 stars because it was ok-ish. I'll start with the good: the apartment itself was nice. New, stainless steel appliances, quick turnaround on maintenance, and the office staff was generally nice to me. You don't hear noises through the walls for the most part. The location is great, especially with the back gate that opens onto the access road. The staff tries to bring in food trucks and do community activities regularly. The gym is nice and the pool is also nice when you're not dodging unsupervised children. And now, the rest: Parking is lacking. There are too many cars and not enough spaces. If you come home after 10 at night, don't expect to park anywhere near your apartment. You may not even park by your own building. I have no idea where the poor people who lived in the building next to the access road parked because there was never any parking spaces open. You're forced to pay $55 per month for cable you may not want which will be added to your rent. If you want internet, you have to get that on your own which will also be $55 after the first year (my deal was $20 per month for the first year which I imagine is standard.) The internet is also very slow due to the amount of people using it, and you're not able to get anything except Comcast internet. You will pay water which is divided up between all the apartments in the building. For one person in a small one bedroom apartment, I was paying $55-$60 a month for water+more fees. My friends who live in houses and have families laughed at me because they paid less. You'll also have a $30 fee tacked on each month for valet trash. even if you carry your own trash to the compactor, you will be charged for this and there is no opting out. If you're keeping score, that's your rent+$135, approximately. If you have pets, add on another $20 every month for each. This doesn't include your electric or the aforementioned internet. When your lease is renewed, don't expect the rent to go up by a reasonable $50 a month. I lived in a small one bedroom and it went up $140 a month (this is still before all the tacked on fees.) They're just counting on you not wanting to move after being there for a year, and for me, it was more of a problem to move at that time than not. There is crime here. It used to be worse but after ten apartments were broken into at once and there was a carjacking at the gate, they finally installed new locks and cameras. This isn't to say it's crime free as you will still see cars up on blocks occasionally, but it is better than it was last year so I'll give them that. Speaking of crime, mail will be left on your doorstep and possibly be stolen because the office won't sign for packages or hold them in the office. I guess this came down from corporate for all Camdens because offering the convenience of accepting packages for current tenants was apparently taking too much time away from showing potential tenants empty apartments. This one kills me: there's a $400 pet fee and monthly "pet rent." I found out the hard way this is NOT a pet deposit and simply a fee Camden charges you for the privilege of having a pet. It serves no purpose except to line Camden's pockets. So read those other reviews; I know rent in Atlanta is getting ridiculous but it's SUPER ridiculous here, especially with the fees they tack on. read more

My husband and I moved here from Florida in search of the perfect "first apartment" Camden seemed all great in the beginning, showing us the best they had to offer. Whenever we moved in we started realizing a few problems here and there..first the dryers werent working, then a few pices of gym equip werent working, and the pool is overloaded most of the time. Our neighbors upstairs are loud!!! They never sleep, always banging around and playing loud music! The crime here is higher then i would like or have expected. One apartment right above us had their door kicked in, the neighbor across from us had his window broken, and several car robberies. The people at the front desk are nice enough, they have helped us out with any questions, and they did give up credit when the dryer ate our money...however, they fail to tell you important details about your lease. Take my advice and make sure you read the fine print before leasing. read more

When I first moved in the staff was great and were a few things that could have improved. The maintenance staff is good and respond quickly to get things done. But if you are looking for a place that wants to follow the rules they set and actually build a community I would not recommend here. One of the reasons I chose this place is they have a NON SMOKING policy anywhere. Great - so I thought. But they do not enforce the policy which causes me health issues and why I chose to move out. I did contact management on multiple occasions and even one time said walk up now and smell the smell of marijuana (yes was not only cigarettes but also weed) I never received any response. Had a problem with my garage (which I pay for) would fill with water anytime it would rain slightly hard. Went round and round for about a year and finally gave up as they cleaned the drain and that was their response to the problem which it clearly was not that for it had been cleaned multiple times. Also know that there is no where for your visitors to park - there are very few visitor spots and if they park anywhere else they WILL get a ticket. Once I was told to tell them to park at the church which is across from the front entrance and I lived on the back side - Are you kidding me that is your answer. Know also the little things like, you are not permitted to have a door mat outside your door, according to them it is a hazard so not sure how we have had door mats for years at houses, etc and it is not a hazard. The gym has no tvs now and when they did you could not select what you wanted to watch all that controlled by front office. Even when I informed them that I was moving due to the smoking and them not enforcing the rule they put in place and had to break my lease I asked if since due to covid and a pay reduction would they be willing to work with me as I was a great tenant who always paid rent on time or early, never any problems could they wave the 1 month fee (I would be paying two additional months because I gave 60 days notice and then they tack on another month's rent as a fee - Answer was NO. Also know there will be multiple fees that are not made clear when you check out with the water (which you should make sure you understand your water bill is not solely your water bill it is split among tenants so when there is a lack of apartments being rented your water bill will go up) So much for during the tough times coming together. I would say if you are someone who cares about a feeling of community and staff working with you then not the place I would recommend. If you don't really care about things like I mentioned then may be the place you'll be fine to live in. read more

I am a past residence of Camden St. Clair, and stayed there for nearly 2 years before leaving. I cannot start by saying how awesome the stay was. Here are a few reasons why: 1) The apartments themselves are modern. well kept, high ceilings and have a great layout. Perfect to live in. I was in their larger one bed, and the space was great for 2 people 2) The community is clean and well maintained, neighbors are nice, the office folks are very responsive and responsible 3) Location - well connected to everything, safe (they have a security patrol in the evening and night), close to the city, but not too close 4) THE SERVICE! - The best feature ever. You have a flush malfunction at 1 AM on a Sunday night, someone will come help you in 15 minutes. Now that is service. Absolutely unparalleled to any other agency!! I use to live at Camden property prior to working for the company .Once I decided to work for the company it only made sense to live where I work .The location of Camden St.Clair is ideal especially since I am new to Atlanta. There are plenty of restaurants and things to do in there area. Lenox mall is only about 10 minutes from the apartments as well as Atlantic station .The maintenance staff is beyond amazing and very quick to respond even when it's an employees issue. Every where you live has its own little issue but as a single girl with no family living in Atlanta , I can truly say I feel and comfortable living at Camden St.Clair. I love my neighbors and always love to see them when we throw resident events which is often ! The community has taken a steps to improve security by changing pedestrian gates access to only be by resident with gate cards. read more

It's great! I moved in with my husband in June, and we got a LOT of apartment for our money, along with cool features we never though we'd be able to afford (fireplace, architectural details like arched entryways, tray ceilings, we've got a nice sizable balcony, washer and dryer in unit, etc). The staff, especially Drew, has been super helpful, and maintenance is quickly responsive. Management also opened the back access gate after hearing that the community really wanted it open, so I feel that they're pretty responsive to our needs. Also, we have a dog and have made friends with multiple pet owners who also live in the complex. Most of the other animals are very friendly, and the pet deposit we paid for our dog was very reasonable compared to some other apartments we looked at. Overall, no complaints so far! read more

What irritates me the most about this place is the parking. We came from a neighborhood where that was never an issue. We have had nothing but parking issues. Don't even think about having a guest over, there is no parking available for that considering there are about 39 parking spots but they are always occupied. They boot even when you have your decal on there. It is a pain to have to call them to take the boot off. On top of that, there is barely any parking available for you as a resident. I can't tell you how many times I had to walk far to get to my apartment. Also, they started this new "reserved parking", complete bs and a way for you to pay them more money. If you are a person who likes having your family/friends come over this is not the place for you. read more

I have been living here since October of 2014 and have loved it - there have been minor things that I could say negative things about, but honestly, anywhere you live you could find something negative to write about. Saying something negative doesn't rank very high on something I would like to say about living at Camden St Clair. The office staff is really nice and always super helpful whenever my husband or I have needed anything (Sasha is my girl!) and we have a super nice maintenance man (Chris) who lives in our building who is always helpful with anything that we need. Service requests are taken care of in a timely fashion and we love the layout of our apartment. Having a fireplace in Atlanta when it is cold was a major bonus for us with choosing this apartment. Valet trash is great especially since we are on a higher floor. Elevators would be a really nice bonus if they had them, but I think taking the stairs daily has helped us stay in better shape. There are a lot of families that live here so we don't use the pool very often in the summer since it is normally pretty full - but again, we are glad to live in a complex with families in it - it has a safe feel to it. Complex was ok up until the last two months of me leaving. I see so many bugs in my apartment. Mainly the fast centipede looking critters. I hate those things and I see one or two almost every day. I give it two stars for that and for being charged 150 extra for rent during my last and final month. I made my payment online and on time every month since moving in, but I mistakenly typed in an incorrect number for the account info in their system. The day after the cut off, I'm charged $150. Cut me a little slack, I've made all my payments on time...it's my last month...but no slack given... $150, I still can't believe that smh. I should give them 1 star smh...unbelievable read more

Had a package stolen from my door step last week. I'm sure this will occur more frequently as residents have been informed the leasing office will no longer hold packages from them. I've had to start sending things to a friends house in Marietta. Such a headache. In addition, a couple vehicles had all 4 of their tires stolen. Makes me uncomfortable to think this was able to occur without anyone being caught. Leasing office staff, is so-so. Not down right rude (most of the time), but never genuinely pleasant or helpful. Always rushing to finishing helping you so they can get back to their convos with fellow coworkers or to complete closing tasks instead of assist residents. While the community has improved quite a bit the price in rent is just not possible to do solo. $1139 base price for a 1bdrm 1 bath is just too much and when you add on all the additional fees you are looking at almost $1300 a month for a 1bdrm. I hate moving because it's a pain and I'm comfortable in my home but I just don't know anyone that could afford that on a single salary. After just at 4 years I feel I am basically forced to move out because the pricing is just so high. read more

I moved in Camden around the end of 2014, and stayed until April of 2017. The few years I was there, could not really ask for more. The location is great, dope area and convenient to pretty much anywhere in Atlanta. Inside the apartments (i lived in 3 different units) are really nice & look like something! the layouts are nice and the appliances are all top of the line. The amenities around the neighborhood are dope too. the pool area is really nice & the gym has everything you would need. As far as the leasing office goes, the ladies in there are all amazing! From moving in to moving out and everything in between, they were on it and more than helpful. They are also very responsive to community issues and constantly striving to make Camden a better place to live. All in all it was bitter sweet leaving. If i didnt buy a house i would probably still be living there. read more

Do not move here! Someone with a key entered my apartment and stole money from my bedroom. There is no way for them to find out. They just told me it's impossible for maintenance to enter. Also, I have a 1 bedroom and single and pay about $75 in water fees a month. I am barely home and I think this is crazy. They have all type of little fees that pile up and they say it's in your agreement. read more

Let me start off by saying that when i first moved in here i was ecstatic. The apartments are spacious and beautiful. The management however, is the absolute worst. We got a noise complaint once and i admit it was our fault. However, we got two more noise complaints for nights when NO ONE was home. it seemed like someone had been targeting us and we got a sense of harassment. After the third one, they tried to evict us but we were allowed to move to a different unit. The new unit was cricket infested. they were coming in from all areas of the apartment. Routine "check ups" were made constantly but nothing really got fixed. It was almost like they were just sending people in to make sure we didnt have anything they didnt like in the apartments. The valet trash always come at unusual, random times of the night even though it is suppose to be at 8pm. One day i left my trash outside the door before 8 and the complex manager walked by and yelled at us to get our "crap" from outside the door.She used those words exactly. I was appalled and i couldn't believe how rude she was. Overall the experience was horrible. i was on my toes everyday and i felt like i couldnt relax. I was always nervous that i would come home to another letter about something we did wrong. btw, theres a thousand kids running around everywhere and 20 parents. at least thats how it seems like. And even though the pool is beautiful , good luck trying to find a spot because these huge families bring 15+ each everyday. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE read more

Camden St. Clair sent us a $1271 Graduation Bill! I am extremely disappointed in the ethics of Camden St. Clair. We have been loyal renters for 2 years and have never been late on a payment. We signed a lease that clearly states we will vacate the apartment on May 23. We did not realize Camden requires us to provide written notice 60 days before leaving. We assumed our contract was the notice. Instead of dealing with us in a humane manner, Camden sent us an email stating we must pay $1271.40 for June 1st - 8th. That is $158 per day. I cannot believe Camden would take advantage of 2 young college graduates. If this is how they treat renters who have never been late in 2 years, I can only imagine how badly they would treat everyone else. I guess that make Camden St. Claire an equal opportunity offender. Please take this review seriously. I started living here in early 2013 and the apartment complex was hands down one of the best I saw. It was fantastic for the first year I lived here and I signed a new lease. Shortly after signing my new lease, the apartment complex changed management and everything went downhill quick. During my second lease term this apartment complex has become riddled with crime and bad management. Within the last 8 months, we have had crime sprees that have included: stolen cars/motorcycles car vandalism (a dozen in one night. Rims where stolen off cars) dozens of apartment breakins (probably over 30 incidents in the past few months) 2 armed car jackings (1 inside the gate, another right outside the gate) In regard to the most recent breakins, management knew that someone in the community had a device that could unlock anyone's doors on Friday, May 1st 2015 and did not bother to tell anyone about it. A few days Later on Monday, 11 apartments were burglarized within a few hours. Management did not give a notice about these incidents until Thursday night May 7th. I urge you not to live here. The apartments themselves are awesome, spacious apartments. But this community is not safe no matter what they tell you they have done to stop the crime. Please do not let this place fool you. On top of all this they are raising my rent $160 per month each time I am due to renew. read more

The security here sucks sooooo bad!!!!! First it was my girlfriend's car got broken into. Fortunately we didn't have anything in it that day. Now my motorcycle yamaha r6 was stolen. After my gf's car got broken into, the leasing office told us that they were going to have some sort of security around after midnight but I guess it didn't do much at all. I've lived at Camden Saint Clair for almost a year now and my experience with the property management and my apartment has been excellent. I love the staff and my apartment is truly a wonderful place to call home. I've enjoyed the pool over the summer, the in-door gym, and the computer lab, too, where I can print, fax, and scan during regular business hours. The computer lab was a huge benefit to me when my computer crashed suddenly and wasn't able to purchase fix for a couple weeks. I love Camden Saint Clair and would highly recommend the property for your new apartment home. There are various models to choose from and you will definitely want to come out to the property to see them in-person. Lived here for 16 months. You really have to compare it to the other options in similar areas for the same price and keep that in mind. It *is* Atlanta, but I'm from the suburbs and I felt safe here. The staff quality varied, but no one too difficult. The pool and gym were generally well taken care of. Some residents had problems with other residents not following pet or valet trash rules, but I think management does an okay job of enforcing rules. The things going on here are despicable. To summarize the issues: all 4 tires taken off of multiple cars (the cars were literally sitting on cinderblocks), motorcycles just disappearing out of the parking garage (since they don't bother to put cameras in there, even though so many people have been asking for years), multiple cars being broken into, a carjacking with 2 people held at gunpoint INSIDE THE GATES, 3 apartments broken into 3 days ago and then 12 yesterday. TWELVE. The gates are constantly breaking, so they're wide open at 4am, and then it takes them weeks to fix them because they're "waiting for the parts to come in". I had to pay for an alarm system since Camden doesn't do anything about any of these problems. I also now have to carry a pocketknife since it's not even safe to walk to my car. It's literally safer to be living in the ghetto than here. DO NOT move in here. It might seem ok while getting a tour, but that's only because they're covering up what's actually going on. Oh and a manager might respond and say "crime can occur everywhere" or "crime rate is going up in the area"; however, I talked to a police officer last night and she told me that the area is completely safe and crime free...except for Camden St. Clair. read more

I very much enjoy living in this apartment. I have lived here for a year and there have been no issues. The staff at the front is very helpful; I have been fortunate enough to work with Denise every time that I have a question and she has been more than gracious and helpful every time. There are reviews that say that crime is common in the complex but that is not true. Crime is common everywhere and they do everything they can to stop it. They installed cameras and have police that live on site. We can't claim that there is a crime problem when one or two things happen; crime happens no matter where we live. This is a great place to live if you have bottomless pockets and only intend to live here one year. I am forced to move out because my rent went from $1300 to $1700 a month plus all the added hidden fees they charge. I see they are renting my same apartment to a new prospect for only $1250. This seems unfair and there should be rent controls about this. Now that they have beefed up security (after multiple break ins, and cars getting their tires stolen) I feel safe. People are friendly and there are a lot of dogs. Unfortunately a LOT of people do not clean up after their pets and there are feces everywhere. Some people even let their dogs relieve themselves on the sidewalks where people walk and don't bother to clean it up. Maintenance is very good and quick to reply. The women in the office are nice especially Denise who goes out of her way to help. I would have liked to stay but I could buy a house for the money they charge. Don't get sucked in unless you only intend to stay here a short while, I have found this problem with all Camdens. They are a great company but money comes first. They have NO loyalty to good residents who pay their rent on time and even clean up after other people's dogs. read more

We moved in during August 2014. Initially we battled roaches (large and small German), but eventually got that under control. We no longer see roaches. Recently (2015), there have been many car break-ins, apartment robberies, and even TWO gun point carjackings!!!! These are SERIOUS problems, folks! Today, my apartment was robbed. Funny thing...the guy (we saw him run off), had a KEY! He even locked our door as he left with our goodies. He also had a KEY to our neighbors' apartment and robbed them as well!!! Camden doesn't really seem to care. DO NOT move in here!! Consider yourself warned! read more
