With a huge selection of trees to choose from, you will enjoy chopping down your own Christmas tree. They provide saws and tree bundling and twine to tie it to the roof of your care. My first (and way overdue) experience of cutting a fresh Christmas tree was a wonderful experience! Such a beautiful farm with helpful, kind people running it. They shake off the loose needles and wrap it in netting for easy delivery home. I traveled an hour to this tree farm just for its delightful atmosphere. Always looking for little ways to pay homage to my hometown, I decided to get my holiday tree this year at Camelot Tree Farm. We had a fantastic time today, on our adventure through the trees...this place has a good amount of trees to select from, they let you borrow a saw & let you do your thing. No pressure, and they will help you if you need it or let you do it yourself. They will shake and bail the tree for you and tie it to the roof of your car for us city slickers who have to drive all the way back to Chicago. All the trees are $50 each regardless of type or size. They also have wreaths and garland in their little red shack where they'll give you hot chocolate or coffee and some oatmeal cookies after you cut your tree. Cash only, so come prepared. In need of a new place to chop down a Christmas tree, we headed out to Camelot. Our usual place (Mar - cough, cough - mion) has been so light on quality trees the past few years that we had to try elsewhere. From the friendly guy greeting us at the front and explaining how everything works to the guys offering to saw off any lower branches and then shake out and bail our freshly-hacked tree, this was a top-notch operation. When you're finished, you drive back to the front, enter the warming house to pay and enjoy gratis peanut butter cookies, coffee and hot chocolate. All trees were $50, regardless of type or size. The most impressive thing was the quality of the trees. We had our first "maybe" tree 2 minutes into the field. And then another. And another. At the other place, we have literally wandered around for an hour or more looking for an "acceptable" tree. This year, our 8' frasier fir was much more than "acceptable". And had we spent more than 15 minutes, we easily could have found lots more great trees. read more

Visited there for the first time today. The greeter was extremely pleasant and helpful. They had a large selection of trees and we found the perfect one in about 30 minutes. They provide the hand saws (sharp, cut the tree down in 2 minutes), shake the trees, trim the branches, and seal them up in netting. They also provide twine to tie the tree to your car. Not crowded when we arrived at 10am on 11/26 but started getting busy when we left around 1115. All trees were $60, and they had free hot chocolate and cookies (best oatmeal cookies I've ever had, soft and delicious). Got the tree home with no problems and it looks great in our house (7 or 8 foot pine). Branches are thick and it looks healthy. Bottom line, my family will be visiting this farm from now on! read more

We have been cutting down our Christmas tree here for the past 20 years. We look forward to the tradition every year. The experience starts with the friendly greeter as you enter and continues with the hunt for the perfect tree in the beautiful expansive fields of evergreens. The family owned business means there will be the same friendly faces wrapping our tree in netting and serving hot Vick's and homemade cookies in the warming house.
