We all got pumpkins, bales of hay, straw brooms and the like. Dave has no cashier and relies on an app to pay for purchases. This night his app was not working and we told him this. We kept trying. As we left, and still trying to get on the app. We got home and started unloading. And still trying to get on the app. It was night time and a truck pulls up across the street from me and sat there. I could not see into the truck and did not know who it was. I screamed out to the driver and said, who are you are you ok? I decided to call the police because I thought maybe it was somebody drunk and pulled over or he had car problems. Well, once the police arrived we found out it was Dave! He followed us home! He said we stole 300 pumpkins, which we only had about 15-20. The police told us he has a history of doing this, following people home that he feels did not pay enough. Now I have 2 little ones with me, 6 and 7. He is telling the police he wants us arrested! The police came back over to us and said "listen this guy is weird and off his rocker, have you got the app working yet"? It was not. My wife said listen... we can Zelle him for the pumpkins since the app is not working. The police said" we doubt he has Zelle, right now he is just rambling on that he wants you guys arrested but that is not going to happen because we believe you guys". The police officer said he has a Square on his phone where it can be paid through that device. So my wife walked over with the officer to Dave's truck. The total we knew was $126. Dave said just pay $119 because he could not figure out the taxes. According to the police, Dave has a history of doing this! He ruined our tradition and our kids are upset that this happened. The whole ordeal was about 2 hours long and our night was ruined! Now our whole tradition is ruined because we will not go back there where a stalker could just show up to your house! *STAY AWAY PLEASE BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS BEFORE AND WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN AGAIN!*

After finally finding one plant I liked, I had an unpleasant interaction with the cashier when I asked about a military discount and requested tissue to cover the muddy pot. Her responses were abrupt and rude, leaving me upset enough to cry afterward. The only bright spot was a kind teenage employee who helped me figure out the bag to cover and carry the plant. Unfortunately, when I later spoke with the GM, my concerns were dismissed and the cashier's behavior was excused. Goodbye, Platt Hill. I have purchased overpriced, dead plants for the last time.

I had been looking for a scindapsus pictus (often called a satin pothos, but I learned while I was here that it's not actually a pothos). The nurseries I'd been to never had one and so I was pleasantly surprised they had quite a few to pick from! Laura was super helpful and kind! They have a really pretty setup. They sell adorable decor and plant pots as well. As someone who is new to plants, I appreciated Laura's expertise and advice. She answered all my questions thoroughly. I was advised that I could buy soil for my plants from them in the future whenever I need to repot. She gave me a plant card with information on how to care for my plant at checkout. I also joined the plant points program. I live kind of far but will drive out here again to buy another plant, soil, or anything else I may need in the future! I snagged a 5-inch "swiss cheese" for $17, which isn't too bad (and is actually cheaper than the comparable one at Home Depot this morning -- go figure). I love that they have a bunch of small 2" plants too, many for under $4 -- great to try out something new without making a huge investment, or to combine together for an indoor planter box. The lady in charge was outside watering the giant hydrangeas, but immediately came to help my wife with her new plant scavenger hunt. Like most times when my wife gets the hunter glare in her eyes, I wisely stay back, and only provide arms for bag holding. My wife was shown several plants and then pots the wound suit her office space. I would definitely recommend you stop by and let them take care of you like family.
