Took my 3 year old here for 3.5 hours and could have EASILY spent 3 more. It was $90 for three of us to go on a weekend. So many things to do! Cheers for Hannah & Goebbert's Farm Team! Our executive meeting, with many moving pieces, came together like a dream. Amazing planning partner Hannah exhibited extraordinary creativity, thoughtful touches, & attention to detail. All meals were delicious, with unexpected surprises like cute, decorated tables & fresh kettle corn. Every wish was made to come true, from caramel apples cut into manageable pieces, to iced tea & water dispensers to cut down plastic waste, to private space to set up swag bags & executives to take calls, & adjacent private restrooms. The grounds are clean & inviting, not just for kids! Leaders enjoyed a Selfie Scavenger Hunt allowing them to explore the extensive farm's cool stuff to accomplish the goal. They enjoyed it and those with kids all wanted to bring their families back. Who wouldn't? There's a pumpkin-eating dinosaur! The main team-building activity Hannah recommended was a salsa making & marketing campaign contest. It started with teams picking beautiful fresh vegetables themselves (heirloom tomatoes, peppers & chiles of all kinds,) cool take-home logo aprons, salsa judge from the Mexican restaurant that provided hot lunch (we ate the resulting salsas at my suggestion), and ended with GORGEOUS blown glass red pepper trophies for the 2 categories, Best Salsa & Best Marketing Plan. It was outstanding in every conceivable way, a perfect activity for a sales & marketing team, totally Hannah's idea, FANTASTIC organization down to the smallest detail, and they were so surprised at how fun it was and how utterly relevant! The salsas were delicious; all condiments and necessary tools were provided with decorated worktables for each team, fun relay games while the vegetables were washed...I can't think of a single thing that could have been done better. Our evening dinner was to start with drinks & appetizers in the beautiful patio area outside the large conference space, but due to sundown timing, that plan was adjusted to dinner first followed by s'mores by the fire pits. It was a glorious evening, the signature cocktail I requested was prepared perfectly along with all the bar offerings and wine, and everyone received a bag to pick applies in the orchard with the help of the Owner directing them to the best apples of the season. Once they were done picking applies, they were directed to the end of an orchard row where a magical scene awaited them as the sun went down: a beautiful table set up with fall-themed twinkly-lighted decorations, lights in the trees, scrumptious gourmet barbecue (seriously, every single dish was DELICIOUS), and a talented guitar player strumming tunes for ambiance. They were driven via the big farm wagon to and from the locations, which in itself was fun! Then back to the patio for full bar, s'mores, music, and comradery around the fire pits. No bugs, no distracting outside people or noise, nothing but fantastic food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. People said it was like something out of a reality show, and they were absolutely overwhelmed. Hannah worked with me through developing every detail to make it everything that we asked for, and more, and kept the budget ridiculously reasonable for everything, all-inclusive. They're working on the only issue we encountered, which was some A/V challenges, to make their facilities even more conducive to corporate events. As it was, the audio-visual & sound limitations of the huge room, normally used for weddings and large events, and a bit overwhelming for our smallish group, led to some problems. However, Hannah and their charming A/V technician were super diligent with working to make it as workable as possible, and a portable speaker made the second day much better. I am confident they will figure all that out so future engagements will be perfect. I cannot possibly recommend Goebbert's Farm & Pumpkin Patch more highly. The three stars relates to 1) the cost and 2) the lack of real bathrooms. This is an amusement park type pumpkin patch. I didn't see many pumpkins being purchased - though there are some areas to pick and choose your favorite pumpkins. Parking is a mess - and if you have a stroller or cart, it can be very difficult to push it where there is gravel or grass. It's very probable that you might have to park really far away on a weekend. Also, plan ahead for lines to turn in (and police directing traffic - which was helpful). Considering most of the activities are for kids, it would be nice of the price for adults was less. A family of 4 will cost about $120 for entry. Many activists are free - but not all, so be prepared to pay for the apple cannon, camel rides and other activities. Food is pricey and really long lines for some of the food. Now, here's where the bathrooms come in.... If there are real ones, I didn't see them. However, if you have kids with you (and especially with little ones), only having porta potties is not ideal. The place would be able to accommodate enough activities to keep you entertained all day - but in my opinion, this is prohibitive without a real bathroom. If anyone has tried to take a child into a small space...you know what I mean. Staff is really friendly and if you choose to shop, pumpkins and other treats/gifts are reasonably priced. It's a commitment to come out here...but would be so much better with bathrooms. read more

We came here today, a party of 6, and I was mentally prepared for a crowd but I was surprised at just how crowded this place was in the early afternoon when we arrived. We could barely find parking and there was a line for everything. Every food place and every attraction had a wait involved. Be prepared to wait a LONG time on weekends. And it's so crowded that it's probably not a good idea to have young children walking around- most were being held or in their strollers/wagons. We left around 630pm and there were still plenty of people at the farm. If you can, it's a no brainer to try to come on a weekday instead of on a weekend. If you do come on a weekend, then try to get here early in the morning. Unfortunately this was the one weekend that worked for us. Admission is $25 for everyone 2 and older, and many other attractions inside cost extra. There are plenty of activities included in the admission price for the kids, like the corn pit, carousel, pumpkin express train, wagon ride and playgrounds. The live music by the food area was quite enjoyable. Pig racing was a new one for me but quite hilarious and entertaining. In terms for food. I really enjoyed the Italian sausage with peppers and onions from one of the food trucks, as well as the ice cream from another food truck. These two had the shortest lines and that's all I ended up eating here since I didn't want to spend more time waiting in line for apple cider donuts. My favorite activity was the apple picking- they have an amazing orchard with a ton of different varieties. I would come here just for the apple picking if that were an option. You have to take the wagon out to the orchard, so do it early so give yourself time to enjoy the apple orchard, corn maze and pumpkin patch. I do feel like the price of admission is steep for an adult. With the value I got from here, I feel like I could have gone to a more traditional pumpkin farm or apple orchard. You'd think that charging a higher price for admission would result in some weekend crowd control, but I didn't get any sense of that. Maybe having timed admission would help a little? There were also two private parties going on while we were there, so this place definitely juggles a lot on its plate. If I come again next year, I'm definitely coming on a weekday or not at all. it's always a great time here with the kiddos.. especially with the newly added "pumpkin grove" town. you can purchase tickets in person or online(not much of a savings) but there is soooo much included. i've been to other pumpkin patches where not only do they charge an entry fee, but you have to pay for train ride and other kid activities. here, everything's included for the most part! Aside from the apple picking, train ride, pumpkin picking, and all the cute pictures of my little guy..I was highly disappointed because of the well-being of these animals. For starters how are they getting all of these exotic animals? The kangaroo in the top left looked like he was barely able to walk and was attempting to jump but couldn't. Wow first time and great time. It's definitely out there, but worth the trek if you're looking for some good autumn action. We arrived around 10am, and not too bad on parking. It's kind of pricey per person to get in, but it's definitely worth it for a whole days entertainment and fun. There was an illusionist magician that mesmerized the kiddies, giant slides, a carousel, giant playground, bike car races, pig races, exotic animals like giraffes, llamas, and deer up close, like you can touch ans feed them ice cream cones! A haunted house, fresh made cider donuts and pumpkin hayrides or apple picking as well, train ride. Most of the area is paved - except the actual apple orchard and pumpkin field,(I was thinking that I was going to have to wear boots but was pleasantly surprised. Lots of options for lunch with food trucks, tacos, hotdogs, and a really neat stand inside the indoor greenhouse that had Chinese kebabs and meat filled buns (Lily's I think it was called). Really unique I thought and was most excellent food - they're raising money for orphans so it's a good cause too. What took the boat for me was the apple cannons! It was definitely fun. This was my first time at the Pingree location. I didn't know it existed, I've gone the Barrington location. This was quite the drive for me but I had my fun and you can easily spend a whole day there. It's fun for all ages. They have more things to do at this location for sure. Weekend price is $25 so it's quite the entrance but atleast a few things are included with it such as the big slide, haunted house, pig races, hayride, basketball, corn pit, bounce, carousel, animal land and a few others. There are other activities such as pony/camel rides, apple cannon, feed for animals that cost money. It's a choose what you want to spend your money on. It's nicely laid out so you can make a big circle to all the different parts. It definitely can get packed so wait times can get long for activities. I loved the animal land and being able to feed the giraffe they have there as it is my fave animal. They have a lot to offer as a fun fall activity place. read more

I went apple picking here and the selection of different types of apples was very plentiful. The staff seem very friendly and knowledgeable. Came on a Wednesday at 3:30pm to avoid the immense weekend crowds. Was really disappointed that there was zero food to buy today (not even popcorn) - only saw stands selling lemonade & beer. Gave an overly-kind 4 stars just because this place is very large with lots for kids to do. But as expected, I spent a small fortune. Entry cost was $18 per person today. The 5-min pony ride was an extra $8. Didn't buy any animal feed because the cups were tiny and would feed one animal. My daughter had a blast. However I agree they need to have a much larger area for their animals to roam. They had a small haunted house, a hay ride, apple and pumpkin picking among other activities and various food items to choose from and fresh corn. They also offer beer and cider. I absolutely love this place! Fall is one of my favorite seasons and this place definitely brought in that vibe. My family and I had a wonderful time on the farm. There were so much to do that we were so delighted to finally make the trip to check out the Fall festival. We got to see so many animals-- who knew they would have a giraffe & camels?!! especially in the Midwest! They were so beautiful to look at! The haunted mansion was AMAZING and well done! I wasn't expecting it to be so scary since the farm looked so kid friendly and I was expecting it to be like Disney scary. Boy, was I wrong!! From start to finish we were enthralled by the ambience! The jumpscares were great and super genuine! I haven't been scared at a haunted house in YEARS!! We squealed, screamed, and laughed the entire way. Very entertaining and very creepy for a small haunted mansion. Y'all definitely nailed every scene in each room! The food at the cafe were freshly made to order and it was so delicious! I highly recommend the cheeseburger and fries! It was too bad our drinks from the fridge wasn't cold to compliment the food. Nonetheless, we had an awesome time. Great for all ages and the best place to build family memories. The staff were so kind and friendly and made us want to come back again. First pumpkin patch of 2021! Every year my son and I check out a new farm. Opened a week early and there were tons of motorcycles. The family/owners posts a lot on their social media (IG). We had a blast, fresh kettle corn, apple cider donuts, very cute market. There's a super cool slide, little train ride, carousel, and a jumping thing. Other photo ops as well. They recently had a sunflower field this summer, and in the winter they do a Christmas light show. Price was also pretty reasonable. The only reason I won't give it five stars is because my son is 9 and he enjoyed like three of the activities (slide, jump, bike ride track thing) that was about it. This review is for Goebbert's Farm in Pinegree Grove. I mention this because silly me, I went to the one in Hoffman Estates and that place was shutdown for the season (this was near Christmas time). We ventured to Goebbert's because they had a drive thru Light Show and I thought this would be a great way to bring in some holiday cheer during the COVID-19 pandemic, doing so safely. The Light Show is a drive thru venue outdoors. I'm not familar at all with Pinegree Grove, and it's one of those typical suburbs/rural area with not a whole lot of street lights. You can see Goebbert's from several miles away, as they lights definitely indicate where it is. When you drive in, they put up a lot of traffic cones so you can easily figure out where to drive, to get to the Light Show. There is a sign that tells you to turn to a specific radio station, for holiday music, which we did... and gladly so (we were close to just keeping the dial on 93.9FM as they have decent Christmas music). You can tell that a lot of time and attention was spent putting the lights up. The lights are synced, which was a great surprise, with holiday music and the kids loved it. It's a good blend of old classics and some new holiday music from Pentatonics and "Panic! at the Disco", which I didn't even realize that they made a holiday song. The path snaked back-and-forth for a bit and had various varieties of lights, from light tunnels to all sorts of lights. For $15, the whole ride was almost 20 minutes. At the very end, being a religious person, it was nice to see a bunch of scriptures from the Bible. Jesus is the reason for the season. read more

Goebbert's fall fun for sure! It's $15/person to get it. About the going rate for fall farmtractions these days. The good thing about here is that the train and the jumping pillow are not an extra charge like at other places. The animal rides and animal has a charge, FYI. There is also a magic show here and there for some comic relief, the magician is really a throw back. The food smells delicious, I love the smell of grilled onions! The hot chocolate is $2.25 and excellent!!! The cider doughnuts are good too. I really think this is a good sized farm with a lot of space, pretty friendly workers and good variety. The addition of the apple orchard is great, but it's important to know you can't pick apples without paying the $15 entry price. The apple orchard needs a few more years to get fully organized, their markings are not the best out there, but I think it's a work in progress as this is only year two. The BEST addition to Gobberts this fall is the Beer Bin. There are only three choices: Angry Orchard, Lake Front Pumpkin and Coors Light, but hopefully that will also change with time. At $7 a beer, this should be a profitable addition for them. We'll be back for sure! read more

The camels were crying out and one was being bullied, all the other camels were biting her and the woman in charge did nothing. The animals alone is a reason to not return. We've always visited the Goebbert's Farm in Barrington but no more! The Goebbert's Farm in Pingree Grove will now be our new spot to bring the kids and pick our pumpkins! This location has many great activities that are all included in the price you pay, roughly $21 for entry. It's really a fair deal! And ordering tickets online was so easy! They have a very nice and "clean" (as much as animals can be clean) animal area that also includes a few exotic animals; who all look VERY well cared for! They have an impressive haunted house for the kids, a train ride on the Pumpkin or Apple Express that had a skeleton theme - I wont spoil it so you have to check it out. You can take a hay ride to the Pumpkin and Apple Patch to pick out your pumpkins or apples or you can pick pumpkins in the main area of the park if you're not up for the hay ride. They have a huge slide, corn pit, large sand area, and a carousal! They also have goodies to buy in their market store, apple cider donuts-yummy and Halloween décor. There's food stations to enjoy a quick bite, so you can get on to more activities. They even have a small beer station for adults craving a libation to quench that thirst. The staff was all very friendly and polite. Check out their website for all that's included. You wont be disappointed! I visted thus location on 10/7 with my family and paid for our purchases with my debit card. The next day I noticed I'd been double charged for 5 transactions that clearly showed on my bank statement as duplicates. They weren't pending but posted transactions to my account. When I called the location they denied they overcharged me and said they would contest it if I filed a dispute with my bank. I am overdrawn almost $100. I can't afford to buy groceries now. My husband is disabled and this was supposed to be a fun outing not put us in financial hardship. I will never go here again snd warn all who do to be very careful if you pay using a debit card. Hands down our fav place to go each year for pumpkin and apple picking! They have a huge variety of family friendly activities from MrDs magic show , kid friendly haunted house,pig race, live band, haystack for kids to run around, giant corn maze by the pumpkins, petting zoo , carousel, camel ride and so much more. Honestly I can't say much more great things about this place other than checking it out yourself! Even as an adult I still had fun and hope to one day bring my kids here. Some of the highlights are: 1) apple picking - they drive you on this tractor to pick apples and there are so many to choose from including red delicious, Jonathan etc. my favs are Aztec Fuji , candy crisp, and golden delicious. They charge 10 dollar per bag so try to fit in as much as possible ! 2) pumpkin patch- love how this is a legit field with pumpkins on the vine vs pre picked pumpkin that you just buy from a store. I like to find the speciality white pumpkins but it's also a great spot if u r looking to decorate or cook some organic pumpkins! Just be careful not to throw out ur back when picking up the huge ones. 3) mr d magic show- ok I know the name sounds weird n I'm a grown adult but it's honestly one of the best free magic shows ever. He has this decorated 1950s truck with photos of himself and his family who were also magicians. I like how he involves the audience members n asks kids n adults to come up. It's a great time and fun for all ages. Ton of great food and drinks as well including fresh grilled corn on the husk, apple cider, apple cider donuts, pumpkin lager , grilled sausage and so much more! Last tips: I would just say this is an all day event so wear comfortable shoes. The wagon ride can be very dusty so Rec a hat and coat. HOW IS THIS PLACE STILL OPERATING?? It's an exotic animal/wildlife farm under the facade of a pumpkin patch. So many animals crammed into small cages and they all looked so sad and tired. The ostriches (yes, ostriches) had bald spots on their bodies. The kangaroos looked sickly. The poor camels looked exhausted and malnourished from giving rides to people. Same for the ponies they have chained up for riding. A giraffe at a "pumpkin farm"?? Come on. This is inhumane treatment of animals and just sickening. Please DO NOT give these people your money if you care at all about animals. I wish I had been able to take pictures. They need to be shut down. Giving one star because I have to. Where's PETA?! Shame on these people. And they have the nerve to display Christian scriptures on the property. read more

I hate to write such a negative review, given these are hard times for us all. However, the attached picture is what you unfortunately walk into in the restroom at this farm. I worry for the animals here (a giraffe, kangaroos, zebras etc. that should not be in Illinois- please do your research before paying unlike I did) and clearly others agree you should get rid of them. Expand the corn maze, the donuts are great but the animals are clearly unhappy in such small spaces. If you can't keep the restrooms clean.. It says something about any establishment. I do not give one star lightly. Besides the $22 outrageous entrance fee, very poor layout and insanely overpriced food/drink I was SO SAD to see beautiful exotic animals trapped in super small dirty pens with not enough room and insane crowds touching them and petting them. Let me tell you - it's obvious the animals are in distress and miserable. This is animal abuse & if you look them up, a bear cub died there in 2015. Appears to be what was a nice family business turned into a very greedy and dirty business. read more

This holiday season doesn't feel the same due to COVID-19. Luckily, there is the Light Show at Goebbert's Farm in Pingree Grove which is the perfect solution to ring in the holiday cheer despite the pandemic. The Light Show is a drive thru venue outdoors so there is little risk involved. You can tell that a lot of time and attention was spent putting the lights up. The lights are synced with holiday music which really enhances the experience. It's a good blend of old classics and some new holiday music from Pentatonics and Panic at the Disco - there's even some dub step mixed in. For $15, the whole ride was almost 20 minutes from beginning to end and everyone enjoyed it especially the kids. Take note, you must buy your tickets online ahead of time and you could still purchase them through January 3rd.
