Fabulous service...BEAUTIFUL design. In September of 2020 I met with a kitchen designer in Rocky…read moreRiver, Ohio. Short version of a long story... From the initial design estimate to the final pricing, they tripled the price. This was with no "fluff" added to the design. I suspected they inflated the price so I began the search for another designer. This led me to Kitchen Design Plus and Mary. We already had our cabinet design selected (wood and finish) so we wanted to match what we originally selected. Mary went above and beyond to match the cabinets in both design and finish. In fact, the finish was better than the original and the design was modified to include MANY upgrades and "fluff" to my kitchen...at a cost of $20,000 LESS. Mary understood that due to switching designers and starting from square one, we were on a three month delay form our original target completion date. Every effort was made to expedite the project (as much as possible during COVID) and make certain we were happy with our selections. Upon delivery, one of our end cabinets was damaged. They promptly picked it up to see if it could be repaired. Unfortunately the scratches were too deep and it was returned to Grabill to be repaired. No hesitation...they took the approach of "we will make it right" and provided exceptional service. The quality of the cabinetry is exceptional. You can tell immediately they are a quality cabinet with solid wood design. Mary's input was spot on. I had a few ideas (style of island leg, shape of island) that she suggested may look dated. I took her advise and she was right. Her suggestions gave me more seating at the island and a fresh look. Trust your designer!!! I would (and already have) recommended KDP to anyone who is contemplating a kitchen remodel. Expert advise, QUALITY cabinets, and exceptional service.

All of these virtually new appliances had to be replaced. While the owner of KDP talks a good game, once he gets your money, his involvement with any problems stops. You are on your own. As you can see by my initial review in 2015, he told me to "contact the company" for a replacement refrigerator as the warranty was over in 12 months (and it was non operable and non reparable in 15 months). What he failed to report was the Kitchen Aide Company that built that appliance was in China, and when I did try to reach them, a recording said the factory no longer existed-due to flooding. The other three appliances that were put in also were Kitchen Aide. Anyone who is interested can Google "Kitchen Aide" and see the numerous complaints and lawsuits that the company has had, and how it is virtually impossible to get any resolution from them. To further contaminate the issue, the initial refrigerator was a "counter top" refri It is very sad to say that a $40,000 kitchen remodel, with brand new appliances purchased from KDP, stopped working in less than 2 years. I must say in all fairness that the stove still works-even though one of the front burners has a light that does not go on (that occurred less than 2 months after I purchased it). The stove hood still does work (some bulbs went out but that is to be expected). I am keeping my fingers crossed on that as well. Every time I am in a large big box store, I do keep my eyes peeled for a new stove as I know the one KDP put in will not last much longer-after all it has been 3 years.

I have had positive experiences with Sales people here who appear to work on commission, where they engage to help if needed but then back away to give space to the customer to comfortable shop. I moved to NW Ohio in 2018. Shortly after, I called the Appliance Center and their technician came…read moreand changed the compressor on my fridge. I was happy with that service. In 2021, I remodeled my kitchen and bought my kitchen from their Maumee location. This time, they kept changing delivery dates and caused long delays in my project. I was mad but tried to be understanding given the pandemic. In 2025, the touch panel of the microwave oven they had sold me stopped working. I called them and explained the problem. They sent out a technician whose diagnosis after two minutes was (and I quote directly) "Touch panel failure". Duh! He then spent about 10 minutes on his computer and told us the part was not showing available and that we had to get a new unit. He did not take the microwave oven out of the cabinet, did not check whether the power was plugged in, did not open the back plate and look inside. He did nothing but try to use the touch panel. They he charged us $128.22 and left. Since I was busy at the time and had the old microwave that I could use temporarily, I postponed fixing the issue. Last week, I removed the microwave from the cabinet, opened the backplate and (after reviewing the user manual and watching a bunch of DYI videos on YouTube) figured that the internal fuse was blown. So I called GE parts hotline and ordered a new fused directly from the brand. After replacing the blown fuse, the touch panel lit up and the microwave oven started working. What bothered me was the fact that the technician had no interest in finding the cause of the touch panel failure and moved too quickly to advising us to order a new oven through them. Having fixed the problem myself, I called them up and asked to speak to the service department manager. I tried to explain everything chronologically but the manager was impatient, cut me off multiple times, and defended the technician's actions. He basically shut me down. I called a second time yesterday, hoping to talk to someone who cares about the Appliance Center's image, like the owners of the business. I was again routed to the service department manager, who repeated his earlier response. Not only the technician didn't do their job right for the price we were charged, but the manager was indifferent and uninterested in the experience that I, as a loyal customer, was trying to share with them. They lost me as a customer forever. I hope those reading my review will exercise caution when calling the Appliance Center for repair services.

Installation nightmare. First crew installed my white quartz tops and I had one seam. It came out…read moredirty and very noticeable being white. After contacting them they agreed to come back and fix it. Must have been their "A" crew this time cause they did a fantastic job and you could barely even see the seam. I was very happy with the outcome and glad I let them know that I thought it could be done better. Within a couple days I noticed a small hairline crack on the very edge of the top they had to remove to fix seam. We immediately contacted them. The only thing on my brand new top is a Keurig Coffeemaker at this point. We haven't moved back in the kitchen yet. For the record, this is Silestone calcutta gold qaurtz as well. Nice, expensive quartz with a great warranty both manufacture and installation. Looks great on paper until you need it I guess. They came back out to do a warranty crayon test near this crack, where they rub a Crayola crayon on the top and it shows heat damage. Just so happens my coffee maker is close and they claim I MUST have put my hot coffee pot on the very edge of my brand new quartz top and the little crayon scribbles prove it, so they say. I assure you I did not, nor would I ever put a hot pot on a any countertop when the coffee maker has a spot for the pot. Who does that? After much back and forth with the owner Mike, over email, which were the most non professional, blame placing emails, his solution is to pay half the cost to replace it because I damaged it, so he claims. The fact they had to rip up my top to fix their cruddy seam from their "B" crew couldn't possibly have anything to do with this crack. My new kitchen looks great, even the brand new cracked countertop that will eventually break I assume. I just have to live with that because I will not pay more money for a replacement to probably have another bad seam from their not so good install crew. It's a shame that it's hard to find a local company with a Owner who stands behind their products now a days. His resolve is, my red Crayola says you broke this brand new top, pay more money and ill fix it. I don't know how the top cracked, but it wasn't from a coffee pot on my end or I would of just let it go, like I'm choosing to do now since he just wants to blame his customer and color on my new quartz. Just for grins, I talked with a gentleman who works for cutting edge who has years of experience in this business. Immediately, without a doubt, just looking at the crack, he disagreed. Then he went as far as to say that cutting edge would be replacing that top asap. So, take what you want from this, but I highly recommend going elsewhere to avoid potentially getting a bad experience like I received. I'm reasonable, I know nothing is perfect during remodels. I don't expect perfect. Mistakes happen during renovations, but for the money spent, you want a company that stands behind their products. That's far from what I got from Mike and the countertop shop. Id love to show his emails and how he treats his customers but Ill be a bigger man then him, which isn't hard to do :) Check out Cutting Edge, they have much better reviews and customer satisfaction. When my top breaks, Ill have them take care of it.
