This overall experience was awful. Parking around this place is a problem. Located on a Main Street near a railroad crossing means traffic congestion. If you're not familiar with the area, you should definitely leave early. I was slightly late due to this very issue. I was greeted warmly, but there seemed to be more questions about insurance. All insurance information had been taken care of. There was a continuous theme: money. They were already charging me for the x-ray but wanted my insurance so they could bill the insurance and reimburse me if the insurance covered it. The problem is, I would never know.......... The staff didn't seem knowledgeable or trustworthy. After paying for the cost of the 3D x-ray, she didn't verify my email address and sent my receipt to the wrong email address. I had to ask for an itemized bill because the receipt was only for the transaction and not what I paid for. The most interesting part, the visit only took 20 minutes total. Oh, and there was nothing wrong. The doctor and nurse practitioner seem fine. The doctor explained the issue but gave me nothing about what he explained. Did I mention, the expensive x-ray, they absolutely needed to diagnose my potential issue, I never saw it. I left feeling ripped off. I will never comeback here.......... read more

Dr. Estevez did everything exceptionally well and made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. Her assistant, Jimena, was professional, kind, and very attentive. I had my initial appt for April 1. I was in a lot of pain and called if they could fit me in earlier. I'm glad they were able to. I had Dr. Steffi and her asst Cathy were awesome. Dr. Steffi and her asst made sure I was comfortable the entire time. They are easy to work with. Plus I hate going to the dentist but they made me feel very welcomed. At the end I believe her name was Mercedes she was awsome. From paying my bill to everything. This place is really caring for their patients. I'm glad my regular dentist sent me there. I had to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed all at once and I am SO GLAD I got referred to Dr. Andrew Sugar at Cameo Dental Specialists in Berwyn. I knew from the moment I walked in I was at the right place and in the best hands - Bianca, Pam and the all other staff members were extremely kind, positive and had such GREAT energy. That alone created an atmosphere that put my anxiety at ease, they were so supportive and gave the best hospitality! When it came to Dr. Sugar I can't put into words how grateful I am for him as a Surgeon and I felt I could trust him (not easy for me to do). I let him know any/all concerns and questions I had and he was very understanding, experienced, transparent and knowledgable! My surgery went so amazing and so is recovery I'm relieved big time!! Although the dentist, Dr. Paul Rossetti was amazing and caring, the office staff was truly AWFUL. All they seemed to care about was getting my money. I was sent to Cameo by my regular dentist to have a tooth root extracted. I have a fear of needles so I was to have the procedure done under anesthesia. After my initial visit with Dr. Rossetti, I was asked to wait for information regarding what I needed to do to prep for my next visit the following week. I waited 20 mins only to be forced to sign a "promissory note" - agreeing that I would pay $$ at my next visit. I signed it and then asked what I was to do in preparation for anesthesia. The office clerk flippantly said, "just do what you normally would do. You know, nothing by mouth for 8 hours before and you'll be fine". I was appalled! If this had been my very first time under anesthesia, I would've been lost. That was no way to explain something as important as this - and so carelessly. When I came back for my visit to have the tooth root extracted, I was told that I wasn't on the schedule. I was still upset from the visit the week before - so I lost it. I was extremely mad. I had left the appointment card at home so called my daughter and had her take a picture to send to me. In the meantime, I guess the dentist heard my commotion so he came out to talk to me. Dr. Rossetti was super nice. He was caring and had a great bedside manner. (Five stars for HIM!!) He said he could fit me in - that it wasn't a problem, but wanted to know if I had had anything to eat or drink in the last eight hours. I told him the last thing I had was 10 o'clock the night before, but I did take my medicine in the morning without any water. I told him that I wasn't given any instructions on how to prepare for anesthesia except the flippant remark that the girl gave me the week before. He asked if I had received a folder and I said "no". He apologized and said he would go get everything ready for me. A few minutes later, I was called in. I left everything with my daughter, thinking they were calling me in for the procedure. I was wrong. All they wanted was my credit card. Again, everything was about them getting their money. I lost it. Once again. I was so mad. I've NEVER had to pay for services BEFORE I had received them. And the bill today was almost $250 more than what was on the note I signed the week before!! I understand this is a for-profit business, but at some point you need to have the customers best interest first before the Almighty Dollar. Luckily, I have not had any problems from the extraction. I REFUSE to go back to this location. I had asked to speak to the office manager per Dr. Rossetti's advice. The OM called me once - left a message. I called him back - left a message - and that was it. I guess they really don't care to know what customers have to say. Unless it's something positive. (Check these reviews. This is probably one of the best dentists I've been to. Unfortunately they're not my primary care dentist because of my insurance. But I've been referred for root canals twice. Both have been a great experience. Other places make me pay first before care is given, not this place. They'll tell you what it cost before your procedure but you don't swipe the card until they're done. They put the patient before money. It's refreshing to know there are still dentist like this. Terrible experience. Office would not get pre approval from a health insurance that covers services needed. Charged extremely high consultation service and did not submit it to my insurance. Automatically included general anesthesia when these services are optional. This place does not have your best interest in mind! Paul Rossetti, DDS is the most arrogant, condescending human being I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. I have received quality care from other oral surgeons at Cameo Dental. But this man ignored everything I told him about my pain threshold. He lectured me about how he's the doctor and I am not so he knows better. He gave me several painful injections in the jaw for which I was prepared. He then let the analgesic set in and said I should not be able to feel the next injection. He very forcefully made the injection my whole body trembled and I screamed in pain. As I was crying from the pain he lectured me like I was a child. He looked me in the eye and said: "you can't scream. I have other patients." He then threatened to forgo the procedure if I could not "behave". At the end of it all, a root canal that turned into an infection that sent me to the hospital where I was given morphine, he refused to prescribe pain medication offering only Tylenol and Advil. I should point out that a different doctor at Cameo Dental in River Forest had just two days earlier, given me the same series of injections without the added pain. read more

I went to my primary care dentist who sent me to Cameo for a visit with Dr. Munaretto being that I needed a root canal Long story short, I made an appointment and was seen by Dr. Rick who was outstanding. Dr Rick is very informative and a true professional in his field. He made the procedure painless and effortless. The facility is equipped with modern technology and everyone in the office is friendly and upbeat. I was not a fan of getting a root canal and terrified to have the procedure but if your like me and worried there's no need to be. Go see Dr. Rick or his associates you will be fine. Had my first visit today at Cameo and was very impressed. The office is clean, and very modern. The entire staff was super friendly. Dr. Clark was probably the nicest dentist I've ever had. I never realized how much I appreciated a nice/friendly dentist until I witnessed a previous dentist (at a different establishment) being very rude to her staff, in front of me! Anyway, Dr Clark explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood the options and plan. He made it a point to make sure I was comfortable at all times during the root canal re-treatment. Today was my second time at Cameo and as much as I hope I don't need any more intensive dental work, I would def see them again if I do! Lol I've had a root canal done with them last year and today, I had 2 extractions; one of which required a bone graft. All procedures came with minimal pain or discomfort. The staff and the facility are amazing! I LOVE that they're a local one-stop shop and that they provide such an array of services, including laughing gas and general anesthesia if you're anxious about certain procedures like me! They have excellent customer service and are extremely knowledgeable. Parking is easy to find and their hours are extremely accommodating. Their facilities are clean and welcoming/relaxing. This group saved my teenage daughters' front tooth. Late night on a Saturday, she propelled herself into the side wall of a pool. Blood everywhere, I called Dr Engler at Aloha Dental. His then associate, Dr Ben Baptist, met us at the office, patched her up and contacted hi colleague - this Endodontist. Dr Rick Munaretto, the younger, I believe, gave her a root canal and re-secured her tooth. The staff at both offices were fantastic in all regards. Two years later...or is it three? I made an appointment for a consultation for 4/6. COVID19 cancelled most businesses so I assumed Cameo may cancel my appointment. Instead on 04/02 I receive a text message with my appointment's time and location and a number if I want to reschedule. So I drive 25 miles, during the middle of the day, for my appointment to be informed that consultations are cancelled and that no one bothered to give me a call to let me know. How unprofessional and what a disregard of my personal time. Definetly will let my dentist know about this situation do I can get a referral someone else. I went to Cameo Dental Specialists in Berwyn as a referral from my DDS. My experience trying to set up an appointment and the 4-5 subsequent calls showed not even the basic customer service skills. Refusal to make an appointment without insurance information, additional calls to ask for information after my dental office provided insurance information and x rays. When I went to the office, i filled out the paperwork and was asked to come to the desk. One woman began explaining the cost structure which I questioned and was interrupted by a second woman who interrupted and said she would explain it to me. She came out to the waiting room and explained the cost structure - consultation and procedure the same day was one price. Consultation and procedure on another day $295 more. When I explained I never met the doctor and may need to think about the treatment and questioned the cost, she repeated it louder - lol. Ok, I agreed to the consultation and she went back to her desk. I thought about how I was treated for a few minutes and the lack of confidence I had until this point. I walked up to the desk, asked if there was a cancellation policy - there is not and i left. Best decision I could have made. The pain in my tooth was still there but the pain in my butt was GONE. read more

I arrived in the middle of the afternoon after seeing our family dentist for a broken tooth. I was referred to them for a possible root canal. I walked in to request an appointment and was pleasantly surprised they could squeeze me in for a consultation as a walk in. I waited a bit (which I didn't mind because I had taken off work to see my family dentist) and once I was inside, I was told they would do it right then and there to avoid having me come back in two separate appointments (thank you!!) Staff was very friendly and helpful. They converse with you like you've been seeing them for years. Dr. Rick was great! He worked fast and was very pleasant. I was treated by Bedford Dental in Bedford Illinois and was given a referral to a specialist because the had did a bad job on my root canal. I called the referral Cameo Detal and was told that I had to pay out of pocket $295 for a consultation with out them even contacting my insurance. I had to make the appointment for a later date because I didn't have the funds available. When I was contacted to confirm my appointment I was once again reminded of the $295 consultation fee. When I arrived to the app my insurance was still not ran and I was given a paper receipt with out information regarding the charge. I contacted my insurance company and they told me that consultations were covered under my plan and when I called them to get a receipt with the code to submit it to my insurance it was a different story. The consultation was $195 and they charged me out of pocket $295 for a X-ray that I had already had at the previous dentist that was covered. Same exact machine. I asked why was I told the wrong information and they had no answer for me. Blamed it on an employee named Elizebeth and that was that. They said that their calls are recorded and I asked them to play it back they didn't want to. I was lied to and the dental practice was very unprofessional in that regard. Had my wisdom teeth removed today. Off the bat, you walk and the place is beautiful, and smells so clean. Exactly what you want to walk into before surgery. Due to covid, all extra precautions were taken. The women at the front desk was the sweetest, and she kept the place very clean, even wiping down the door after we arrived. Becky is a Saint, so helpful. Everyone was so nice and made me feel so safe. If you need an oral surgery this is the place to go. I forgot the name of the doctor, but you really cannot go wrong here. My 85 year old mom found out that she needed 5 teeth pulled and a root canal to boot. She was very nervous and can't get around well because she also needs hip surgery. Everyone at this place - I mean everyone from the endodontist to the desk staff to the assistants to the oral surgeon - was 110% wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. Treated my mom with such respect, allowed me in the room because she also can't hear very well, walked us out to the car with an umbrella because it was raining - just....great. I am such a lucky person that I had two root canals and one tooth implant!!! What an experience, covering over a year and several visits!!! To be serious, the lucky thing is the my general dentist recommended Dr. Rick (Munaretto) at Cameo. My first impressions were at their North Avenue location. This is a very serious business and run very efficiently. Cameo specializes in root canals and implants. I had never had a root canal before and was very apprehensive. Dr. Rick explained the process and began the procedure. While working with me, Dr. Rick was also working with other patients. This is the same thing that happens at my general dentist. After the first root canal, I had the second root canal and implant done at the Oak Park location due to convenience. The service at both locations was outstanding. Yes, there is an expectation that you pay for services at the time of the appointment, but again, this is nothing different than my general dentist. There is a young lady that works the front desk by the name of Lupe in Oak Park. She is outstanding and will spend all the time needed to help with insurance and explain any billing matters. This was of particular concern for me since midway through all my treatments I was temporarily laid off. And on a final note, I had a very tricky situation with a big moral at the back of my mouth. Dr. Rick clearly explained my options of trying to work with the existing tooth/root and a cap, or the option of an implant with a cap. After considering my options, I went with the implant and cap. Dr. Rick did the extraction of a very large moral at the back of my mouth and over several sessions successfully mounted an implant. After today's visit, I can now go to my general dentist for the cap. Let me be straight, these procedures are not cheap and insurance only covers a portion of this type of work. But I am extreme happy that I went with Cameo and Dr. Rick, as I feel I received first class service and the results were outstanding. read more

A million thanks to Dr. Rick.... there's such a thing as a Root Canal Specialist and Dr. Ricks your guy. When I went to my regular Dentist the night before Thanksgiving with throbbing eye, ear and gum pain. His response was well let's extract that tooth. Hmm, is that my only option I ask? He throws his hands in the air, to my surprise and says well you can go to a Root Canal Therapy Specialist. His people called Cameo to verify insurance details and I had a last minute appointment in 20 minutes. Lupe the receptionist at Cameo is fantastic. Dr. Rick is quick, precise and efficient. The procedure took an 1.5hrs and the pain was gone. A follow up 15days later was required and I was good to go. read more

First let me say that I am beyond terrified of the dentist and cavities! I also have this terrible habit of when I know I have a cavity, waiting until the last possible second to go get the root canal done. I would give Dr. Rick 10 stars if possible. This is my second root canal with Cameo and Dr. Rick and I cannot say enough good things about the practice and the doctor. I went in today and I was really, really, REALLY nervous. I filled out some paper work and was seen ON TIME, very cool. Dr. Rick took a quick x ray, confirmed I had a large cavity on my nerve, numbed me up and went to work. He is a true professional in every sense of the word and even let my wife sit in back with me (guy points lost I know), I will say this, I did not feel ANYTHING, It was one of the easiest procedures I have ever been through. To be honest, I actually started getting drowsy towards the end and wanted to fall asleep. Let me make this clear, I am TERRIFIED of the dentist and this was such a simple procedure that I was actually relaxed enough to consider falling asleep. Afterwards, I received a follow up call from the office to make sure I was feeling okay and if there were any issues. If you need Root Canal Therapy, go here and thank me later!!!! Let's just make one thing clear: I. Don't. Like. Dentists. I am absolutely petrified to go to them. Thank you to the worst experiences I could ever have growing up. Of course, I should be a pro since I've had more than a dozen fillings, one tooth extraction and a crown when I was just a teenager. Heck, me and the novicane needle are BFFs. When I heard I needed a root canal, I nearly flipped and probably asked my primary dentist a million times if it was necessary. Her answer of course remained the same..."Yes, you do. No, there are no other options. Well, there are, but you won't like them." She had referred me to Cameo Endodontics and assured me they were very good at what they do. She wasn't kidding either. When you walk in, there is a tv with information on root canals, implants, etc. The lady at the window (I think her name was Carmen) was super bubbly, very friendly, and especially informative when I first called the office. She was able to provide me with an estimate and how much my insurance might cover. It was a lot of money, but again...this had to be done. Everybody there was nice, especially Dr. Rick. He actually made me laugh by saying the root canal I was going to have would be boring and painless. I have never heard a root canal described as "boring" or "painless". All my friends have said it's painful and such a long and grueling experience. I didn't feel a thing and had no issues afterwards!! To think I was this huge baby about it...[smacks forehead] I did drop the star only because there is definitely a difference between who you get up front when you call. One receptionist is bright, bubby, and you can sense the confidence in her voice. The other is more soft spoken and doesn't sound so sure in the way she delivers information which made me very cautious. When you are afraid of dentists (and the pinch in your wallet), it's best to have the assurance everything will be okay and your financial situation is understood. I even spent less that I thought I would. :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND for big babies like myself!! One other recommendation: Make sure if you are having xrays transferred over, you get them in advance. Some of their xrays are not email-able and you need to pick them up. I ran into that situation where my appointment was at 9 in Aurora and they opened at 9, so i couldn't pick up a disc and ended up having to pay $175 for more xrays. read more

I had to get my tooth examined recently due to pain and infection. My regular dentist was away on vaca but the temp (emergency) dentist sent me here to get it checked out. Thank God i did! Although they couldn't perform what Dr.Rich M. recommended, I appreciated his honesty and very laid back approach. They work w.my regular Dentist too! Dr. Rick and his team are fantastic. I had a cancer diagnosis late last year and had a whirlwind of appointments and things I needed to take care of that I had neglected to schedule my follow-up appointment for him to take a look to see how two of my root canals were healing up. I called late in the evening one night and explained my situation, which the receptionist was super nice and accommodating, she was able to fit me in right away the next day to get looked at as I was having chemo just days later and it was suggested by my oncologist that I just go and make sure everything was alright before we started treatment. When I got there I asked if there was any way they could take some x-rays to make sure there was nothing else going on anywhere else in my mouth because I was about to start treatment, I really wanted peace of mind. Even though they usually need referrals from the general dentist for that type of thing Dr. Rick pushed it through and him and his staff made it happen. Turns out I had an infected tooth!!! Dr. Rick showed it to me and explained to me that once I started chemo he couldn't touch it, but he could fix it right then and there. Let me tell you, that was a huge weight lifted off of me that he took care of me like that. He fit me right in and took care of the tooth very quickly. Of all the things that I was worrying about at the time I couldn't thank him or his staff enough for what they did for me. I will NEVER go anywhere else for my endodontic needs even thought they are not close to where I live and I will NEVER forget what they did for me during a really shitty part of my life. read more

As far as professionalism and skill are concerned, Dr. Rick and his assistant Jennifer earned an A+. They completed my root canal work precisely and efficiently. They took x-rays before the procedure and after to make sure that every detail had been accomplished; these x-rays were much larger than what my regular dentist takes and so they showed a lot of detail. This is just one example of their very modern equipment. They also took some close-up pictures with a "regular" camera which was attached to the microscope that Dr. Rick was using. As far as giving me personal support, both deserve a higher grade than A+. Here are just a few examples. Jennifer used two lead shields to protect me because I expressed concern about the effect of the x-rays on my chest. After the work was done, she showed what had been done by using one of those wall charts that lots of docs have hanging in their examination rooms. Then she used my x-rays to bring that information to a personal level. During the procedure, Dr. Rick was clearly on my side. Just one example was when I was having a hard time keeping my mouth open wide he said something like "I know that it's hard," and he said it in a very gentle voice. It seems small as I am writing this but at the time it was very comforting and supportive; it meant a lot. read more
