Absolutely beautiful restaurant and fantastic large outdoor dining area which is great on a nice sunny day dining by the canal. The food is always at a high standards and having eaten there several times now I can say I've eaten a lot from the main menu and have never had any problems whatsoever. The staff are attentive, polite and even spark into some friendly conversation which is nice. They have a reasonable lunch time offer for 2 course or three course meals. They also offer pre-theatre menus too. Can't fault the place.

You will find greenery running all upside the walls as well as a fantastic view of the canal. In the evening the ambience inside is also great. Reservations are available but you can usually get in without too much of a wait time. On this occasion I ordered a spinach and mushroom crepe which was fantastic! It's probably my favourite vegetarian dish that they do. It's a sensible portion that leaves you satisfied. For dessert I ordered the praline crepe which was again fantastic. You generally find with dessert crepes that they can do no bad no matter where your buying it from. Cotes crepes are above standard in terms of quality with a light pancake and not overly sweet praline feeling. For me in particular this restaurant shines in the summer. The cocktails are great and the dining experience is unique.

Some had white shirts, others not, some had jeans, others not) Lady playing guitar music live was extremely loud since it had an amplifier Maitre had to ask who requested what(rather than knowing) Re the food Mezze was very nice Potted Crab starter was okay Green beans that came with duck were not "top and tailed" Carrots with the duck were not as al dente as I like(but I recognize that tastes differ) Duck confit very nice indeed Salmon cake was adequate, but heavy on the breadcrumbs. It was served in a bowl which is stupid Had to request the salt and pepper which is inappropriate Maitre brought over a limoncello even though no one ordered it. A properly trained staff member would have known who ordered what Lemon parfait was very zesty Rating is based on the food, not the service. Service would make it a 1 1/2

Blue lights lend a hazy ambience and the way the tables are organised ( in long lines two abreast but well spaced) makes intimate dining possible without losing the buzz of the place. The food is good Bistro fare; vegetables are always beautifully and often unusually cooked and there's a great cocktail bar for a ore-dinner glass of bubbly. We always eat here rather than at the adjacent Queens Hotel restaurant, when staying overnight.
