Awesome experience, definitely recommend to any girls looking for a plus size prom dress! I am a bigger girl, and had spent all day looking for prom dresses that were actually cute, but I had no luck. I was feeling very defeated and couldn't stop crying. I don't usually write reviews but this place is terrible. My sister mom and I went in to try dresses and none of the employees wanted to help. The employees were very rude and disrespectful whenever we asked for any form of help they would reply with "what" or "i don't know." Even going as far as ignoring us and walking right by. They took items away from my mom as if we were going to steal them and stated "when you're ready to pay I'll give it to you." No one wanted to help us, we left after being there for over an hour trying to find dresses and sizes but no one would help. all they did was follow us through the store and when we asked for help they'd turn around and look away but continue to stalk and follow us through the store. I've never gone dress shopping before, and this was my first time being able to feel like a spoiled brat (hence trying on nearly everything in the store). I went with my family and was surprised to see the immense selection of dresses they had! I will say, the gowns were all gorgeous, but some were falling apart and felt cheap in material. The staff was nice-ish, but I didn't really feel welcomed, if that made sense. I usually feel bad for the staff and all that they have to deal with, so I don't really take it to heart. If I could give this store zero stars I would. The staff is rude and not helpful at all. My daughter wanted to try a dress that was on a mannequin and we were told they couldn't take the dress off the mannequin. I thought the store was in business to sell dresses. I guess not! I had to chat with a customer service rep from the company on my phone and they told me who to speak to to have the dress taken off the mannequin. Who has to do such a thing? Worst experience and traumatic event occurred here today. There was an "alleged shooting" and we hid in the changing rooms. The staff didn't let us out until we started a commotion and when we left, they told us to leave our dresses as if that was what was on our minds. We thought there was a shooter so we were running for our lives. They put their stupid dresses prior to our lives. They showed no act of sympathy . I will never be shopping here again. Holy cow, what an absolute nightmare this store is! Staff is the rudest I've ever encountered, which they know, and don't care to fix the attitudes. I called ahead of time to find out if a dress that I had been hunting for was available, and in the colour that I wanted. You'd have thought I'd asked the sales associate to give up her first born when I asked her to check the stock. Now, I didn't want to drive (3+ hours) to this store to find out that they didn't have my dress, so I politely asked her to hold it for me, for a few hours, so that I could drive all the way up there. I even offered to put down a credit card deposit, so she knew I was serious. I was told "Miss, I will not hold a dress for you. Drive here and if we don't have it, there's nothing I can do. Goodbye". This store sits inside of Jersey Gardens. I came here to shop for summer skirts with a friend from one of many social networking groups by car. The prices are reasonable for women's clothing. The style ranges from classic to conservative to trendy to romantic to professional--never skanky unlike Forever 21. Group USA also has petite sizes which fits my couture. I rate it four stars due to the location as it's too far from the New York City, thus without a car there is no possible way to access this location. read more

After reading reviews I was nervous to shop here, but we weren't having luck finding a Prom dress for my daughter so we decided to try. I am so glad that we did! They have a huge selection of beautiful dresses and they are reasonably priced considering what other formal dress shops charge. We were greeted as we entered the store but no one hovered over us as we shopped - which I liked. They woman watching over the dressing room was not super friendly, but she also wasn't rude in anyway. Hello, I am writing about the worse shopping experience and customer service in my life. I am getting married in August and we were so excited to have finally found a dress for my mom, Jacqueline Lattie. There was only one size (12) available in the store; however, it was damaged in two different locations. I inquired about our options and asked them to please look into their system. We were informed that there was another size 12 at the Secaucus store but that they could not guarantee that it was not also damaged. In retrospect, this was a very manipulative tactic. I asked for a concession and was only offered a 10% discount, which would not cover the cost of fixing this dress. After I expressed my dissatisfaction, that associate/manager asked the other manager to help us (Ms. Denise); and she informed us that they could actually fix the two defects and we can return to pick the dress up in one week. My mother called on two separate occasions and spoke with Ms. Shirley on 3/20/19 and again today (on 3/24/19) before we drove an hour to the store. We received the garment with a written "DONE" on the alteration receipt. Fortunately, I inspected the dress and the two defects were actually NOT fixed. The root cause analysis of this scenario appears to be that the seamstress is Spanish-speaking while the documentation on the alteration receipt (used as her instructions on what to fix) was written in English. As an immigrant myself, I am sensitive to these issues. However, there needs to be a work-flow created that does not enable this type of error to occur. They called for an associate who translated in the store and the seamstress expressed that she cannot fix the defect on the dress. We expended almost 4-hours commuting, suffered through poor customer service, were deceived on numerous counts, and paid almost $400 for a defective dress (Item 04163739). I am looking forward to speaking to someone on how to rectify this immediately. read more

This store has lovely clothes, beautiful shoes, evening bags and other accessories. What they also have is terrible sales help! Two visits to this store and I am convinced they are the rudest staff I have ever encountered. My first experience involved asking where I could find a dress - the response was "over there!" with a point. I still bought the dress. I went back for a bag - that experience wasn't much better. I tried to take a bag to where the dresses were and was stopped! I was told to go and get the dress and bring it to the display case where the bags were. I don't work there! Love the dresses this store offers, have bought many dresses from them. However my last experience with them is turning me off from ever going back. Found a dress on their website that I fell in love with. But needed it quick and couldn't have it shipped. Called the store with the Name and SKU number ready. The woman answered the phone and I explained the situation. She said "ok well how are you going to tell me what dress you're looking for" I told her I had the SKU number. She wasn't happy with that, "alright" was her response. I gave her the SKU number and she then asked a ton of questions about the dress and said "I don't remember seeing that, I'll just go look" I was then put on hold for her to go look around the store for the dress rather than just searching it on the computer. I am very surprised to see a good review but apparently you have to go during the week and early in the morning to receive respect. We spent over $1250 on bridesmaids dresses but that doesn't mean anything in terms of customer service. We received the wrong size dress after it was altered. So I am hoping they fix it but I highly doubt it. Their attitudes and rude dispositions are uncalled for...it feels as if you are bothering them to help you and ring you up. As a bride you would hope that they would treat you with respect but they sigh with exasperation. Definitely unhappy with the staff here. I have come on 3 different occasions. The first time was wonderful, no issues. The second visit, I had an employee yell at me in the dressing room because I wanted my girlfriend to come assist me zipper the dress, then follow me across the store to tell me I cant put the dress back on the rack myself (I was just looking at different sizes) THEN bought the dress which was damaged in two places and they would not exchange. Third visit, I drove from out of state to this store and the mall closed at 8. It was 6:45 and they told me the dressing room was closed and I TOLD THEM I came all the way from out of state and the staff member said "Sorry, you cant shop its too late. Did you check the hours online"I told her yes and she continued to tell me I couldn't shop because they were going to close. Once the customer is in the store, shouldn't you let them shop!? I give this place 0 stars. I charge them with Racism and EXTREME POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. So as you see I am an olive complexion women and very regular looking in workout clothes. I have a wedding to attend at the end of the month and I need to find a dress. My fault for waiting last minute. I jumped in the car after dropping the kids off at school and headed over to Jersey Gardens Mall. I didn't really think about my appearance because I was trying to get this dress today due to my busy schedule. I walked into Camilla La Vie, and there was no one to greet me and tell me about the store so I just walked around aimlessly. Some of the dresses where damaged and put out on the floor with full price tags on them. I pick two dresses and a pair of shoes to try on with the dress and head to the dressing room. The dressing room attendant was a small woman about 4'11". She seemed to struggle with the english language but did ask me how many dresses I had and then the dressing room attendant snatch the shoes from my hand and said "No, no, no". I was just going to let it go but I decided to talk to the manager. Because I was confused by it all. The manager was at the desk so I questioned her about why the attendant did that. She said "Well, that is policy." I preceded to explain to her that I was not going to steal the shoes but I needed them so I can fit the dress. She again said "Well, that is policy. Then another person gave me some BS about how I might rip the dress with the shoes. Also, that they would rather I come outside the dressing room to see myself in the dress. Just to let you all know I was by myself. After that I walked back to the dressing and before I enter the room I thought... if I buy something from here I am supporting the ignorant behavior that they give to their customers. So I say I'm not buying anything from here and it's A-shame to because I have money to spend. The dressing room attendant heard me and started laughing, she also follows me out laughing at me as I walked out. That really burned me up and I decided at that moment to tell everyone my story. I'm pretty sure they judged my financial status by the way I look today. My biggest mistake was thinking coming to this no class store. It ruined my mood for dress shopping. Every single time I called, I was told to call back later because they were too busy to put my dress number into the computer to see if they had it in stock. In hopes they would have my dress, I drove up there and asked a sales associate to help me. I was told that I needed to go to the dressing room to find my dress and that she once again could not help me. I know there are a lot of negative reviews on this place, especially about the staff. I was there for a prom dress for my daughter last year and would have to agree with them. But that was on a weekend, the store was mobbed, we waited on line for 20 minutes for a dressing room, the staff was rude, etc. This year we went on a Friday afternoon. There were very few people in the store. The selection of dresses was amazing. The staff was great. The dressing room attendant was very helpful and friendly. We found the perfect dress. The cashier was friendly and so happy for us. The whole experience was so completely different from last year. Yes, the dressing rooms are still waaay too hot, I wish they could figure out a way to get some air in there, but at least this year I was prepared with short sleeves. The dress is gorgeous and so reasonably priced. I recommend visiting on a weekday evening, a much better experience. read more

Rude ! Under staffed ... Went in for a prom dress with my neice ... Waited on a line for half hour for a fitting room and was greeted with a nasty attitude ! Held it together until we wanted to share a fitting room because I found a few things ...fine I thought because I was holding my 9 month old (by the way it's like a thousand degrees in the store no joke ! ) no we couldn't share one ... Fine again ... I proceed to wait until she's done and she can hold my son until I go in ...nope ! The nasty ass girls in the fitting room are telling me I can't wait for that same fitting room ! What !?!? I just waited in line for half hour ! Seriously ! I said are you a manager ? She says yes .. Um who made you one ???? Unreasonably overpriced for the poor quality dresses. Must try it on in store because they have no return/exchange policy. Very rude cashiers. Turns out the exact same gown they have in the store for $500 is $199 online. So they used a $300 markup on a poor high school student who was purchasing a prom dress. Whoaa! Blows my mind. Do you research before you shop in this store. One star for a huge variety. One star for quick access to a fitting room. The lady in the bridal department (sorry forgot her name)picked out everything I wanted to try on and was helpful and lovely. Disappointed. I walked in today with a Dunkin Donut cup of coffee that also had a lid on. Was in the store for about 5 minutes and as soon as I touched a dress one of the workers came up to me and told me that I couldn't drink my coffee within the store. I apologized and told her well I guess I would have to leave because I'm not throwing my coffee away. She said I guess and said sorry. There are no signs that say you can't drink in the store. There was also someone else w a cup in her hand. She wasn't approached. She also left when we were told we couldn't drink there. Sorry but I've been to bigger stores and they don't do this. I walked in expecting to be asked "How can I help you?" or "What are you looking for?" however, I was completely neglected even when asking women for help. Although they have many dresses, the idea of a Final Sale is stupid and scares anyone trying to buy a dress who may have a change of heart last minute- people do that. When i entered the dressing room, there was a large sofa so I told my boyfriend to sit there, next to the large mirror, however he was asked to step outside (about 5 feet) and stand. It is not like he was bothering anyone, was in an actual dressing room, or was not supposed to see me in the dress anyway. A couple other men also tried to sit on the sofa and were pushed back. Whatever. Then as I walked back to my dressing room, one woman was standing right outside my door waiting for me and said "Can you pick your dresses up off the ground?" In one of the rudest tones I have ever heard. I understand dresses not touching the ground but due to the lack of any hooks in the dressing room, of course my dress fell off the bench. Overall, this place had so much potential but due to its rude staff, I would never go back. It was a total turn off and I'm shocked anyone would ever by a dress here. Wow. read more

We asked one of the employees if she could help us and she was super rude and made faces the whole time. The whole time the employees were speaking to us with an attitude. I wish I could give no stars. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. When I walked into the store there were two sales associates standing having a conversation and didn't even greet us. Other customers were trying to chase them down to get help. When I had my granddaughter in the dressing room to try on dresses there was no one there to help us. We just walked right in. I grabbed a pair of shoes right next the the dressing room area for my granddaughter to try on with the dress and an associate came around the corner and yelled at my like a child and told me to put the shoes back. As we were getting ready to check out after having found a dress. The cashier proceeded to yell at another customer that she can't walk around with a flower girls dress. The dresses have to stay in the area they came from. Not one person is around when you need help, but they're quick to yell at you if you're doing something they don't like. read more
