We were told it was not severe and that nothing needed to be done. A few years later her curve worsened, she was experiencing a lot of discomfort. The doctor recommended surgery. We wanted to do everything possible to avoid that, so after a lot of research we learned about the Schroth Method and were so grateful to find Dr. James. Even though the office is about a 40-minute drive for us and we were nervous about committing to frequent visits, from the moment we walked in we felt completely at ease. The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, and Dr. James is truly exceptional. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, reassuring, and has a great sense of humor that made both my daughter and I feel comfortable right away. We have been coming once or twice a week and the improvement has been amazing. My daughter has significantly less discomfort and pain, and seeing her feel better has been such a relief. The pain came and left so I didn't bother treating it. Then I noticed months after I felt foggy, off balanced, anxious. I put it off as just a funk I was going through. I've had constant TMD and a migraine (first time in my life) for over a month and have tried my doctor, ENR, acupuncture, acupressure, amino therapy patches, medicine, message therapy, TMJ exercises only to have fleeting relief! The pain and despair has been debilitating and embarrassing. My dentist was fitting me for a Night Guard to help with my clenching and grinding when he had recommended Dr. Thomas. I decided I'd give it a shot because I would do anything to feel normal again. I'm so happy I did. Not only is Dr. Thomas truly passionate for what he does but he is extremely empathetic to his patients, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable about his work. My consultation shed a lot of light on how treatments work and how the atlas, body, and mind work in harmony. As I continue to do my own research I find so many eureka moments where unexplained symptoms would go untreatable by doctors that were in fact a direct symptom of my atlas. I have to totally differently look on how modern medicine approaches ailments. The onslaught of symptoms that occur when your body is out of line is unreal. It's easy to isolate a problem and try to remedy with medication but that is merely a mask and until you dig to the root the pain will always be lurking. Anyways! I had my first treatment yesterday and although I am still in pain I went from a 9 to a 4! I had a "impressive" misalignment and can already feel my entire body, literally top of head to toe, readjusting. I can not begin to describe how excited I am for my second, third, and so on. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Thomas for his precision, artistry, and knowledge of the body and his craft. I don't think I could ever recommend somebody more.
