This is a great class to introduce your kids to coding. It's a belt system so once they progress to the next level, they earn the next color belt, similar to taekwondo. My daughter started out at age 6 in their junior program and she loves coming here! Out of all her extracurriculars, this is her favorite. She always has a lot of fun and she has learned a lot in the last year. They have different packages to suit your preferences whether it's coming once a week or more. They also have a STEM room for the kids to do fun science experiments. The monthly fee also includes Girls in STEM which is every other week, a weekly math club, Jr Stem Club every other week, among many other fun events. The best part about the coding class is that you can just drop in any time during their open hours so it's very flexible according to your schedule. The teachers (senseis) here are very nice, patient, and good with teaching young kids. They also update us on what our child has been working on. The manager, Randy is friendly and does an excellent job running this place! Their lobby has a seating area where you can wait while sipping free coffee from their Keurig. Overall, the facility is kept clean and maintained well. They do summer camps, spring break camps, and birthday parties as well. We actually tried out the Torrance one first since that one is a little closer to us but we ended up choosing this one in PV because of the bigger space, more programs, and overall friendlier vibes. Great place for kids to learn coding after school. My daughter has been coming here for many years and recently my younger son also started. Both of them enjoy coming to this location a lot. The manager Randy does a great job managing the center. The sensei are all very knowledgeable and kids are enthusiastic about learning to code. We had my son's birthday party here today. The kids loved it because it was an online game, and they could play together or separately, which made it even more fun for them. There was also a game tournament, which they enjoyed a lot, and the reactions and atmosphere were so lively that the kids had a great time. So glad we came here a few weeks a go for a tour. My husband and I were very impressed with all the staff, everyone was very professional and attentive. The installations are very well equipped, and the kids learned at their own pace. They also have a very nice STEM classroom. We love their ninja theme. What a godsend Code Ninjas was this summer for my 7yr old grandson! The summer camps were not only educational, but was a clean, organized, fun place for my grandson to learn. This place has been a God send especially during Covid. With schools closed down I turned to Code Ninja so my son could have some extra curricular activities and also potentially socialize with other kids. They were COVID compliant and safe and I always felt comfortable dropping off my son. As we continued to attend I have now built a tech family. My sons do more than the coding/ stem activities they offer, they are also involved in their camps and tournaments. I am not a techie and have been leveraging Randy ( who gets 12 stars out of 10 for his patience and customer service), and the other Senseis for tech info that my kids ask me or want. Randy - he's really what makes this center amazing. I specifically mention to him days when schools in the area are out, and he is always able to pull together some amazing camps on the fly. He has over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, not to mention a gnarly sense of humor. I wouldn't hesitate at all to leave my 5-year old with ADHD in his competent hands (and not simply because I would otherwise lose my mind). It's a true gift to be able to engage kids at this age in the classroom for 3 hours straight, but they are always smiling at the end! My seven year old just attended summer coding class for Roblox definitely learn so much had such a great time learning how to code. They are very informative, teach to the age level, and I really appreciated that they showed me what had been done throughout the day. How can I be the first reviewer of Code Ninjas?... the place has tons of kids. My son really loves it here. The owner, Randy, seems on top of it and runs a warm and clean business. The lobby has couches for parents to relax with cute holiday decor and coffee. The owner puts effort in making it inviting and nice. The kids disinfect their hands before entering the coding room. I LOVE this! Then there is a STEM room for the kids to play in after their 1 hour of coding. The classes are on the pricier side... and sometimes you get what you pay for. My family and I are so grateful to the staff at Code Ninjas and Beach City E-Sports. My siblings began the program during the summer of 2022 and my middle-school-aged sister has stayed with it during the school year. She has had an amazing experience in both centers. Even now that she has less time than during the summer she is just as committed to completing her assignments and rising through the belts. The coding curriculum is perfect for kids with an interest in the subject, but just as great for those inquisitive enough to learn something new in a fun way. Although the program is individualized to each child's needs and pace, the senseis manage to include fun ways to promote fellowship among the kids. There are so many fun activities outside of coding. There are clubs, a STEAM room, a gaming center, robotics, and family-inclusive activities. I am so happy to have Code Ninjas in my siblings' life. Was unsure at first because my daughter started when she was pretty young, but the instructors are amazing and meet the kids at their level. They make learning fun and engaging. My daughter loves coding, but she has the best time in the STEM room. She has played science themed bingo, done different experiments, and began to learn chess. The instructors are great at keeping me informed about how their sessions are going and what my daughter is working on. They also have really fun events like bringing in reptiles, family scavenger hunts, and gingerbread house competitions. The director is amazing--super helpful, friendly, and proactive. read more

I believe the staff in CodeNinjas put a lot of good work and talent in this institute, however this class is not ideal for a second or third grader. Maybe older kids have a better experience in this coding class. Based on our observation the manual that they give to the kids in the classroom is prepared for older students and not specifically for 8 or 9 years old ones. My son is in third grade and he had started his class with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. After one and a half week (3 sessions), he didn't want to participate in the sessions at all. I put a lot of energy to persuade him to finish that one month and unfortunately it has a very bad effect for his perception about coding. The main reason was that the lesson plans are mostly independent work based on the mentioned manual. I was expecting more fun and excitement for teaching in this specific age group, otherwise there are tons of great coding books out there that you can buy for $20-$30 and give it to your kid for independent learning. I think the main purpose of these kind of training is motivating learners and creating a fun and enjoyable learning experience. Unfortunately these topics are not included in a normal lesson plan here. Refer to the owner's reply I think adding these points will be helpful for other parents: - The owner brought an amazing pitch in his reply that is perfect for attracting some investors and simply this branch is not there yet! I think the description is copied from their vision document and I'm assuming they are trying to go that direction. But as I mentioned based on our experience these are not happening at least for 8 or 9 years old students. This age is not suitable for a mostly independent learning approach. - I didn't want to bring up Code Ninjas' business practice pertaining to the payments and charging the cards on the file, but because the owner mentioned it, I don't have any other options other than clarifying it. After a conversation about a camp, they charged our credit card on the file without our consent and signature. When we asked for cancellation after ONE single day and one month before camp date, they didn't accept it and used very unethical pushy marketing strategies to postpone the cancellation for several months and then they said it's too late for cancellation! I have the document that we cancelled the camp in ONE day and now after several months they haven't refund a charge that is not legit. Of course I have other venues to fix this issue and I absolutely will use them to the end. If the owner thinks it's not true, why he didn't provide the consent document that shows our proof of purchase and agreement? We only agreed to pay for the normal classes and they charged us for a camp based on a quick demo session. - Why I bring this up to the public after a while? Because I respected their business and I had good faith and I thought they can fix a bad practice in quality and finance aspects of it. After many emails, when I realized there is no intention to improve their business practice, I felt responsible to inform other parents in south bay about my experience. In summary, be mindful about the age of your child and at lease for one week try the class to see if it is an interactive one or a self-learning process. Judge it yourself; More over if you provide your credit card there, check your card regularly to make sure there will not be a charge without your consent for other stuff that you haven't signed up for. read more

The curriculum is well-designed for beginners and advanced coders alike and the senseis are all awesome. They do a great job keeping the kids engaged and guiding them through any coding challenges. I'm always especially impressed by Amber, who manages to keep my kiddo trying even when he runs into challenging parts of code. She cheers him on and helps design a mix of activities that challenges him but also gives him fun breaks when he needs them. I recommend this location highly! read more

Every time I go to Code Ninjas PV, I get a warm welcome and enjoy the great music playing. My grandson is learning a lot here - he's a white belt ninja now and will soon be a yellow belt. The feel of the place, when you walk in is friendly, and the manager, Randy, is fantastic. He always says hi to me and my grandson and helps him get checked in. He is the one who helped us sign up and explained the payment plan clearly, and was super transparent about the program, the policies and made it really easy to understand. When we signed up, they offered us a sibling discount when my younger grandson is old enough to code. They have free coffee and a place for parents to wait and even books for my younger grandson to read while my older grandson learns to code. They keep the place really clean and it always smells so wonderful! Even when they get busy, they always make time to say hi to my grandson and me. The bathrooms are always clean too. At the end of his session, the instructors always tell me how my grandson is doing and they are so attentive and helpful with his projects, which I appreciate. My son has been going to Code Ninjas in RH for a couple of years now and still gets very excited when his scheduled days come. He has even expressed that he wishes that the week would go faster, so that he can go code. The Sensei's are awesome and enjoy working with my son because he is so engaged and really wants to learn. They encourage him to push himself harder. My son is now at a level where the Sensei's are often comfortable with him assisting other ninjas. On top of coding, my son learned to use TinkerCAD for 3D designing. He loved that so much that he taught himself to use Blender and Maya as well. His abilities have allowed him to make a fun little business for his friends at school. Randy even asked my son to design 10 trophies for the winners of the Time Travel Contest. The learning just doesn't end there. Recently, Randy introduced my son into a totally different world of sports. Now he's playing E sports on an XP League and loves it. My son was never into team sports, mostly because he's not very active. He's finally getting a feel for team play and I love that. In fact, I love everything that Code Ninjas has done for my son. Code Ninja has been absolutely spectacular for our girls (7,6). They absolutely LOVE coming here. They plan their entire week around it. The coding is fun and they feel so accomplished with each task. They get one on one help. The instructors give detailed feedback whenever I ask. They act so excited which is great bc the girls feed off of it! I love how we can drop them off any time without warning! The flexibility is amazing. The second hour we do is in the magical STEM room led by Sensai Genie. Genie is so nice and just amazing at coming up with the best STEM activities. The girls LIVE for it. They got to see a reptile show, make bridges out of spaghetti, make earth layer models, the layers of the atmosphere experiment, learned chess, talked periodic table, 3D printing, Legos, on and on. It's always exciting. The sweetest part of Code Ninja is this special room they have for little siblings. They have a complete playroom for your little ones. My youngest LOVES it. My 8 year old son has been attending here for over a year, it was a lifesaver during the pandemic and we went back and forth between in center classes and virtual classes seamlessly. He likes the coding, but he LOVES the STEM room. Sensei Jeannie does an amazing job coming up with different activities/arts/games every single day in the STEM room. There are always contests and extra fun going on - we won a private pizza party for best Halloween contest, participated in a Scavenger Hunt and a Chess tournament. As a busy parent, I really appreciate the flexible scheduling, I can pick 2x a week whenever they are open, so I can adjust the days every week according to my schedule (or the Bay Club's yoga classes downstairs). The owner, Randy, is caring, flexible, easy going, and loves kids. He is very active in the local community - donates to our school fundraisers and has charity drive collections on site frequently.
