The director is very helpful and my daughter loves coming here. Very helpful and friendly staff. She is definitely learning something new and they make learning new and exciting for her. We live in Downey but would commute here on Saturdays for her 4 hour class and she still doesn't want to go home after that.

Made it up the smaller wall and we signed up for Flips & Tricks classes. The staff is THE BEST. My son has difficulty making/keeping friends and "doesn't like to talk to grownups", but he loves the staff here. As a middle-aged mom, I would call the coaches themselves "kods" because they are at least half my age, but they are AMAZING with my son. He "got hurt" his first class and yelled/cried, but the coaches let him have his feelings, got him ice, and taught him how to avoid that situation in the future. After only 2 official classes and 2 longer events, my son has more confidence and says that he "loves the coaches". Hopefully he will make some friends his own age soon too because they have the same love of literally jumping off walls. Not only is it educational, but it's a great place for the whole family and it's free. You can of course make a donation but it's such a great spot to come too. You can bring your lunch and just hang. What's so neat about this place is that it's next to the Marina and there's a cool park in the same area so you can hit the water and swings area and have a picnic. As you enter they are so friendly and will answer your questions if you have any. You can also become a member and they have their perks as well. You can also get a tour with someone who works there and you can also go on your own and at your own pace. But everyone here is FRiENDLY! The bathrooms were very clean and they even had 2 big bathrooms with changing tables and for the family as well enough room for all. The displays, information and the real life bones and all they have of the whales, sharks and history and facts is so mind blowing and really keeps you interested even if you are young and older as well. So many fun facts and animals to see. Lots of cool fish and sea creatures that you can admire and just mind blowing that these were created for us to enjoy and research and some even make us laugh. The whole place was just great all around from inside to the outside just so many cool features and even a cool area for the infants and toddlers to read books, touch cool animals and just dive into fun facts. As you end your day there there is a cool shop you can get some fun stuff and snacks as well. Dangerous place to take the kids ha ha.. they have some cool squishies and fun stuffies that they will want. The prices are reasonable but for a good cause for sure. I can't wait to be back. Def a cool spot to come hang with the whole family. Parking is $3 for 1 hr and if you stay a bit longer it's ok they don't check. Bring your lunch and come hang here.

SLIPPERY WHEN WET!!…read more BACKGROUND: The Abalone Cove Ecological Reserve features two beaches (Abalone Cove and Sacred Cove), tide pools, beautiful bluff-top viewing areas, and dramatic crisscrossing trails. The 64-acre Reserve contains a State Ecological Preserve with important natural marine resources and the bottom of the Portuguese Bend landslide area. Two promontories, Portuguese and Inspiration points, frame Sacred Cove with its sea caves, black sand, and rare plants. ESSENTIALS: At least 2 liters of water (depends on distance and temp) Know your limits Comfy hiking shoes with good lugs Layered Clothing High protein food/snacks Electrolytes Camera Hat (optional) Sunscreen Trek poles (optional) ROUTE: I have visited Smugglers Cove, aka Sea Caves several times over the years, always at low tide and have chosen different routes. There's a nice five mile path that goes from the Forrestal Nature Preserve and involves both dirty dusty trails and street walking. Or if you're not into longish distances, limited complimentary parking is available above and next to the caves. The trail to the caves is a dirt and relatively steep trek so good lug sole shoes are a must, just as the rocks are slippery and are best walking on with a good pair of shoes. Therefore, if you want to avoid unexpectedly sitting on a rock, leave your vans and chucks at home. The tide pools are amazing, filled with sea urchins, starfish, and small fishes. The colors of these magnificent creatures are breathtaking and the waves crashing on the plates and through the caves is amazing. If you're lucky, there will be some seals hanging out on the buoy near the tide pools. If you stick around long enough, the sunset is spectacular. The most important thing to remember is to check the times of low-tide, otherwise you will not be able to enjoy the tide pools. At high-tide, the water level rises the waves crash over the tide pools, making it impossible to make a safe venture. And be careful, the rocks are slippery when wet. DISCLAIMER: Hiking is not something that can be taken lightly. It can be life-threatening as you see and hear on the news, people die or get lost all time. Please, if you are going to hike, never go alone and prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Remember when going for a hike, no matter how short you think it may be, always be prepared. Carry at least two liters of water for every five miles (more if the weather is warm), protein bar, nuts, and electrolytes. Wear sturdy lug sole shoes and protective clothing. Some areas the weather can change quicker than a fireman can put on his gear. It is also very important, always always always let a family member or friend know where you are going and when you expect to be back. Lastly, have fun when you hike it up.

Beautiful! Went…read morewith meetups each time. We switched to a better trail the last time. It's not an easy route to find by yourself so do research and be prepare. It's not hard, it's just that the trail consists of using multiple trials and if you've never been or know what to look for, it's a little hard to figure out. I always park around 32201 Forrestal Drive Rancho Palos Verdes, CA for free next to the soccer field (as I have always been instructed to do through Meetups and haven't gotten in trouble yet, so look for signs and changes). The hike itself is unique and has cliffs, tidal pools, and of course the sea caves at the end. The rocks are amazing n color. It looks like you're standing on a giant colorful turtle. About a 5-6 mile hike. Sort of hilly but not too much I thought. For me, it's light to moderate depending on level. Highly recommend!

Before coming, I called the day before to ask about the timing and any restrictions. At no point was I told that my 6 year old daughter would not be allowed to enter during Toddler Hour. Had I been informed, I would have planned differently. When we arrived, my daughter was told she could not participate because she was too old. She was understandably disappointed and confused about why she was being excluded. We accepted the rule and decided we would sit together and do crafts while the younger children played. Surprisingly, we were then told she could not even enter the space with us. What I find most frustrating is the lack of practical consideration. The younger children were sold tickets and are not allowed to be left unattended, yet my older child was not permitted to remain with us. The policies seemed to contradict one another and left us in an impossible situation. I completely understand having age based rules and designated toddler play times. My issue is not the policy itself. My issue is that it was never communicated when I specifically called ahead to ask, and there was no effort made to find a reasonable solution once we arrived. The result was a very disappointed child and a family celebration that quickly turned stressful. On principle, I found the experience unsupportive and unnecessarily rigid. I left feeling disappointed by the customer service and the lack of empathy shown in handling what could have been a simple situation.

No matter how hard you try to Google map this location, the exact location won't show. The Google map will just show you that it is somewhere in the mall. Keep in mind that Del Amo Mall is a huge mall. We learned the hardware by parking 1/4 mile away. The way we found out is we had to look at a touch map inside the mall. It was quite confusing because the legend is not stationary, it rotates 180 degrees from your location. Always remember it is by Dicks Sporting Goods, nothing else. This place is hidden on the 2nd floor. It looks like a store. Deceiving looks from the outside. Arrived at this location which we were greeted for checkin under the birthday boys name. You must take off your shoes to enter, so make sure you have clean socks on. The other way is to wear some plastic booties, but it is frowned upon. That option is usually used as a last resort, like not wearing socks. The party was private, you can only have 1 party at a time. You self cater your food and drinks to the gathering. You can even bring a cooler with alcoholic beverages! Which is a plus for grown adults. Social and gathering with adult beverages males the conversation sweeter. This place is not like a chuckie cheese, it is more intimate with a core family since it is private. Its small so it may seem tight to move around. Place accommodates a jungle playground with plastic balls. Enough for the little ones to be entertained. There is one host that works there to assist with the games, food and photography (someones cellphone). That worker is very helpful. The other host works at the front counter for admission. Also you can even hire a character to visit and play games. Surprise appearance by Sonic! Woot woot! Overall, it is small and private. Good enough for 50 people. I will throw a small gathering here on a rainy day, cold or Superhot day only. There is nothing a public park cant provide that zoomi offers. Especially on a warm comfortable day. :) Lots of parking at the mall. Friendly helpful workers (only 2 of them). The 2 negative things is that stood out is removal of shoes and 1 restroom to use. Overall this place will get the job done to celebrate an ntimate birthday party. Fun fun ! Package pricing is unknown, I was not the host but assume it was a good deal since 90% of the party resources was purchased outside of the venue. Comfortable, cozy and small.
