They say they wash before each grooming but they dont..my schnauzer has knatting and saliva discolor in his beard and he still has dirty spots on his back..it all comes off and out when i wash him at home..he shakes uncontrollably and doesn't want to go in when i take him, they also charge different tax prices each time i go..dont take your pets here, find somewhere else thats better and cares for them.. read more

Love this place. We recently had to board our baby girl Wrigley. We are new to the area with no family near by so we had to find a place. She loved it. I love that we get daily pics of her playing. Also that the pups are kennel less expect for feeding. They are so accommodating. Our flight home was cancelled and we weren't able to get a flight home for another 48 hours. I was freaking out because it was a holiday weekend and worried they didn't have space for here. They were so awesome and assured us that it was no problem. Thank you so much Camp Bedford. My situation: Took my dogs here for several months weekly from the end of 2018 through summer 2019. Pros: It benefits from being one of the only doggy daycares in the area, but even so is competitively priced and offers in house grooming services. My dogs seemed genuinely happy to go and the staff seemed genuinely caring for the pups. Cons: We were booted without any evidence of my dogs 'nipping' and becoming aggressive. While staff cared about the pups their customer service skills for dealing with these issues were lacking. We were not given a warning that we would be kicked out if it were to happen again. One day I dropped off my pups and the next she was no longer allowed. I wasnt offered video evidence of my dogs (who are two incredibly loving mutts and love belly rubs and people) doing this, nor offered anything tangible that suggested nipping or being aggressive. I have since found another place for my puppies and oddly enough they havent noticed the same behaviors that were implicated at Camp Bedford I wouldnt recommend or not recommend this place - it does seem like a place the dogs enjoy, I just would be careful to trust any of the staff members. read more

I was really excited to try this place and had heard nothing but great thing, review where glowing as well. I have always wanted to have my dogs participate in doggie day care, plus they had grooming (Win-win) for my 2 small dogs. That all changed as soon as I took my rescue dog in there for play time and a bath. Like most rescues they deal with some form of trauma, Fritter (my rescue dog) is more sensitive than others. He gets scared and spooked very easily. He had improved 10-fold since we got him a year or so ago, but still a nervous dog if he is in a new environment. I have taken him to 3 groomers in the past, every single one loved him to death. He must be approached differently than your average dog. In the past if groomers had issues, we would have an open dialogue about him and how best to handle him for grooming. Not at Camp Bedford Pet Report, as soon as I brought Fritter and my other dog Casper in the groomer came to me and said she's not grooming the "brown dog", I asked her why? The groomer stating that he won't her pick him up, acting very jittery. Her attitude and tone were a deal breaker for me she was beyond rude. I asked her to give me my dogs and I left, she said she will still do the white dog (Casper). NOPE. So, I left. What really aggravates me more so is I communicated his "condition" when I booked the appt and when I dropped him off. Never got one follow up questions about it. In my mind, when we go to these places and pay them the prices they are requesting (I was about to drop around $150-200 bucks for the 2 dogs) there is a certain amount of professionalism I expect. The groomer does not even go out of there way and ask how to handle my dog when he is showing signs of nervous behavior. How the groomer handled the whole situation was a complete lack of professionalism, and to be blunt she clearly didn't give a darn about my dog or so any interest of trying to earn my business. The owner of this place needs to carefully look at the groomers handling these dogs and if that was the owner, they should be ashamed. Pretending to be a dog care center that clearly doesn't care about dogs. If you're like me and your dogs are apart of your family I would like twice before giving this place your business. I'm thankful I caught on to this while I was still there. Who knows what this woman would of done if I left my dogs there. read more

Our four legged kid has fun at Camp Bedford every week. He is a Jack Russell/Dachsund and to run out some of his energy, needs the playtime with other small dogs. We are also happy to leave him overnight when traveling because they have someone onsite 24/7 which is reassuring. I don't get the complaints about paying up front - is there a possibility you don't plan to pay when you pick your dog up? I understand things can happen when dogs mix with other dogs, but the owners keep a close watch on behaviors of each dog, and I trust them with our much loved pet. I recommend this pet resort with enthusiasm. read more

Our dog Oliver loves Camp Bedford and we do too. He attends daycare and goes there for grooming. He's a doodle and that breed isn't always a favorite of groomers. Nichole is great with him and always happy to see him. We've always been so happy with his cut even though we know he's a wiggly fellow. Some how she always makes him look great. Having these guys as a dog boarding option for when I travel has been great. I love that they send me a picture of my dog every day (if not more than one) and are super accommodating with last minute requests. I was nervous trying to find a place close to work that was good with small dogs so I could drop her off in the morning that I could also trust and this one was a great pick. read more

Very disappointed they will not take any pit bull mixes because of their insurance policy. They need to change insurance carriers then! My Trinity GAP foster dog, Rosie, is one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs I've foster in 7 years and she cannot stay there? That is ridiculous. Very disappointed in this place. Didn't even want to meet her? Being excluded because of your breed is simply NOT acceptable for a place whose business is dogs! I would not even call here again regardless of the foster I have. Made a reservation to board my dog here for 7 days so I thought it would be a good idea to take him for one day of doggy daycare just to make sure he was comfortable and safe. I'm so glad I did because I will NEVER take him back here. When I called to make his boarding reservation I was assured that he would never be left with the big dogs, seeing how he is only 18 lbs and a senior dog with a heart condition (which I disclosed). When I went to pick him up from daycare he was not with the small dogs; instead he was left unattended with a group of large dogs because he "seemed" to be getting along with them just fine (or so I was told). I asked if he had any issues with the small dogs and wanted to know why he was with large dogs. No one could give me a good reason and he was acting strange and seemed disoriented. I noticed when I got him in my car that he had a wound from a bite mark on top of his head and was covered in dried slobber from another dog. I called again on my way home to let them know he was hurt and the lady proceeded to tell me that she could not guarantee that he wouldn't come home with a scratch once in a while. SERIOUSLY!!! He could have been killed!!! If you value your pets well being DON'T take them here! read more

Picked up our two dogs of which were EXTREMELY healthy upon drop off. We spend a lot of money on the health of our dogs. When we picked them up, they were extremely sick. Not eating, vomiting when they did try to eat, horrific cough ALL night, violent shaking, diarrhea, vomiting up water and not ONE mention of this upon pick up or any text/call. We are headed to the vet today to which I believe this will be kennel cough possibly turned pneumonia from the lack of care from this facility. We are horrified that our animals could come back this way with zero word of any thing at all ("all went great!") and trust me, a monkey could tell our dogs were sick. Please do NOT take your dogs here!!! Save your pets if you care about them. I will post an update if it's something else. The reviews below are probably from 1 day stays or grooming. I'm very disappointed in this establishment. They refused to groom my dog solely because she is part pit bull. They said they need "special insurance" to groom a dog they have never met before and are judging based off of her breed. My pit is the sweetest dog I have EVER met and I've told everyone I can about their "rule" against pit bulls. I've never had an issue like this at any other groomer and was hoping to find a nice place closer to home to groom her but this place is obviously NOT the place. read more

I have had a positive experience at Camp Bedford. My dogs seemed relaxed and well fed when I picked them up after a week's stay. I appreciate the outdoor yard where the dogs get to play each day. However, they are strict about their rules and people who don't like the rules are posting negative reviews. Example - person doesn't want to pay in advance? Tough, a lot of businesses operate that way. Some people dump their dogs by dropping them off at a boarding place or vet and never returning to pick them up. They don't take pit bulls? Yeah, your pit bull might be nice but I am happy that they don't take risks with my dogs. The net result of their rules is your dog is in a safe, calm environment. read more

Be careful going here. They do discriminate on breeds based on what a dog "looks" like. Very dishonest to take ones money just to say the dog did great, but it looks like a certain breed so it can't come back. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but a lack of communication/information caused a lot of inconvenience for me. Groomer is not available on weekends, so I had to leave work mid day to pick him up since he wasn't neutered. I was planning on coming to pick him up after work, and I was told no he had to picked up now or my lunch break - I work in downtown Dallas, not exactly a short drive. They were aware before and when I dropped him off that he was not neutered and I even asked twice if he could stay till I got off work - wasn't a problem. I've never had this issue before and it would have been useful and helpful to know beforehand because I definitely would not have brought my pup here. read more

None of this was explained to me when I called to make a reservation, nor was it explained at the time I brought my dog in. I went from the recommendation of someone else. It is unfortunate that the situation turned out as it did. I told the employee I would leave my dog and pay for the day, however I would likely not be back. She then handed me my card and told me to leave, then went to get my dog from the back porch. I have taken my rescue Bichon mix here for boarding and grooming and am extremely pleased. I switched groomers because I moved. Here they respected my requests for hypoallergenic shampoo and no perfume. Lucy loved to be pampered here. I changed my boarding to Camp Bedford on a friend's recommendation. Lucy had come home sick at another place I had boarded her, x 2. I think she couldn't tolerate the harsh cleaning agents they used. She was a senior visitor, so didn't play much. But loved watching and interacting when she wanted. I liked that she was separated from large dogs when in play area. I only use a crate when she travels with me, so like their free range attitude. BUT WITH SUPERVISION. You pay before you get your haircut, so what's the problem when dropping off for boarding. I respect their policy of breed restrictions. I had a friend who's small dog was torn up while out on a walk, by a loose pit. It was a pet and very calm and gave animal control no problems putting in their van. I think it just forgot his training without his owner nearby and reverted to instinct. I will continue to use and recommend Camp Bedford. read more

I spoke with Betty about doing an in home boarding for my two small dogs in late April. She ask me when we were going to be home for her to stop by and I stated to her that pretty much any day but Thursday as we have other commitments then. We arranged an appointment for Tuesday 1/24/16 at 6: pm. She did not show up. When I called Camp Bedford I was told that they had our appointment set for Thursday. Uh Hello! I had told her Not Thursday! As I spoke to the gentleman on the phone I expressed concern for the service being that she did not show up to the appointment. I just want to ensure that my fur kids are cared for. He rescheduled the appointment for Wednesday evening, 1/25/16, at 6:00 pm. The lady called my wife today and said that she was not coming at all due to my concerns. Upon me calling after the fact she told me the same thing and in my opinion was unprofessional!
