Our dog is an important member of our family and her care and happiness are of utmost importance. A friend recommended Camp Bow Wow over two years ago and we've been taking here there for day camp and boarding ever since. The owners, managers and staff are super friendly and ensure our dog receives the best care while she's there. The facility itself is very clean and well-kept. Dogs have access to both indoor and outdoor play areas and are always supervised. One thing that really impressed us was how the employees know our dog's name and temperament and have occasionally informed us of abnormal behavior. We've also asked them to keep an eye on her to prevent excessive licking; several times an attendant noticed this and stopped her immediately. We feel the staff is very proactive in ensuring the safety of all the dogs. Another thing that sets Camp Bow Wow apart from other boarding places is that they don't "nickel and dime" their customers. Other places charge to administer medicine or special meal; extra bathroom breaks (while boarding); and social interaction (while boarding). Camp Bow Wow includes all this in their rates and while boarding, dogs are allowed to partake in day camp at no extra charge. We would recommend Camp Bow Wow to our friends and family. Everyone is so friendly and we have absolutely no worries about our dog while she is at camp. We also love the extra activities and that Camp Bow Wow regularly updates social networks and often posts pictures of their guests. read more

Prior to coming here, I saw a couple negative reviews and boy were those completely opposite to our experiences. We have brought two different dogs of different sizes and temperaments to the location near Riverview, Fl. The staff is so sweet and engaged with both our pups as well as us as pawrents. My pups have always come back happy, healthy, and TIRED (as planned). I am glad I took a chance and formed my own opinion. read more

Turning out bit not to be the place for our German shepherd. Unfortunately the walls are those portable cattle 4ft guards and our dog jumps over them into other dog pens. Then spends the day in and out of isolation rooms alone. Not want we wanted for a supposed to be social outing. Unfortunately staff is not allowed to interact or allow toys for safety reasons, but I believe our dog is too bored to walk around a pen all day. Since the bridges were in the empty yards and not the daycare ones. *Not suited for enrichment of active or high energy dogs as advertised. Or be to supplemented for walking your dog as mentioned in their webpage. **Do not substitute for walking your dog since your dog will only get whatever exercise it happens do on it's own. Hopefully we can get a refund on the package we bought that was sold to us after they evaluated out dog and she also jumped then. read more

ZERO STARS! This place is the worst! Run. Don't walk. I picked up my dog and he had a deep puncture wound in his neck and NO ONE could tell me what happened. Some unprofessional man named PAT called me and basically said that the application you sign when you drop off your dogs state that this could possibly happen and that was allegedly a risk I took. It looked like someone tried to shave around my dog's wound and clean it somehow but NO ONE is talking. The man PAT yelled at me and called me rude and when I told him that I would get an attorney involved he said "Good Luck". I have left my dog on a couple of extended stays and every time he comes home really sick. When I picked him up they said he was doing much better than he had the previous time. He was eating better and playing. NOT TRUE! He didn't even eat one full meal in the two days he was there. Then when I called they said he wasn't eating and that he was very nervous. I have taken my dog here for day camp as well as boarded him here 3 times for 6-10 days each time. The cameras are wonderful as you can see your dog using the website or the app on your phone. I always supply my pups own food during his stay, so I've never had any issue with bad reactions to food and no food switch ups ever. He has always interacted well with the other dogs from what they have told me and also from what I have seen for myself with the cameras. The no toy policy is understandable to me in the yards because there are just so many dogs, you never know how other dogs will react if a toy is taken from them and it's better to be safe than sorry. Every time I've picked up my little guy we go home and he goes right to sleep from being so exhausted, so he clearly gets plenty of exercise from running around even without toys. Overall I'm very satisfied with the service. I like that I can see him while I travel, he gets to spend time with other dogs, and the staff has always been so kind to him. That's more than I can say for some other boarding places we've been to. read more

I really don't write bad reviews much but when things like this happen its necessary. I decided to try this place out after a bad experience with them when my dog was given incorrect food causing an allergic reaction, diarrhea, swollen paws and so on about a 1.5 years ago. They gave him medication without consulting with me first to try to remedy his diarrhea during his stay they never called me at all to ask if that was ok. I was very angry and called several times before someone finally called me back who said he was the owners brother and told me that they fed my dog all his food and I asked if you are so sure that you fed him all his food? then why are there 2 portions of my dogs food left in his over night bag? he paused for a while and said sir I have a note here that says you complain a lot. At that point, I was like this guy has some nerve. This was my first time using you to board my dog and I am calling you with concerns about how my dog is being treated and your saying I'm complaining too much, who the H do you think you are?? I hung up at that point and moved on making sure I fixed my dogs issues related to his first stay out of my pocket. (The second time) This time I was short on time and had to leave him at this place again and since they have gotten quite a few 5 star reviews since my last stay, I thought my dog will be ok this time around. I brought my automatic pet feeder in for his stay to insure he is getting fed properly and treats he is allowed to have and informed them to let my pet feeder feed him and give him only the treats I had provided. I wanted to go back to the cabin area to setup his feeder up and make sure no one messes with it but the owners brother said no. I monitored my dog on the cameras through there site and I did see a few instances where there was little to no supervision. When I went to pick him up I was told the pet feeder did not dispense his food and they had to feed him manually. I was like thats not possible It works every single day and now when I bring it to your place it suddenly stops working!! They did not contact me to ask about how much I feed him now but fed him according to what I was feeding him when i first brought him to the camp the first time when he was a puppy which is about double what he gets now. I checked to see what feedings were dispensed because I can track exactly how many meals and portions my dog gets on the pet feeder and the feeding history was completely cleared out they messed with the machine when I told them not to play with it!! After taking him out that night to potty he had a very large amount and much of it was diarrhea confirming the fact that they had overfed him. do you people have a problem with following directions? Seriously!! You could have called me to inform me of any issues but yet again they don't they just do what they want since if they make a mistake they are not liable, right?! Unfortunately, As guardians for our pets, we don't have much control on how places like this treat our pets since we sign the waver that pretty much lets them get away with many issues. However, We can post reviews like this one to warn others of issues this place has had. read more

My dog stayed here for 2 nights and she seemed very happy as I watched her on the cameras! Every time I called staff was able to give me a good update on how she was doing and how she was playing with other dogs. Used Camp Bow for 4 years, liked it very much, but found they were not always honest. I will never use them again. Took my small dog, small dogs are 30lbs and less. They say they separate the dogs by size and temperament. Not true. Waited for full story this morning, they had my small dog and 5 others in a full pen of more than 30 medium large and large dogs!!!! The little ones cowered they felt as if they were prey. Counted the dogs, 5 small, 31 large. l attendant who could not control the dogs. Did not even see two dogs fighting, another nipping others she was in another section of the pack. When the small ones tried to play or get away from the large dogs, they were pursued as prey, knocked about and left cowering and shaking. Nothing was done. Had County Animal Control review the video footage. They said the dogs should never be mixed like that. The small dogs much too little for the large ones and felt it was a danger to the small dogs. Far too many dogs in one pen, not enough attendants or supervision. Will investigate any complaints once someone shows an actual injury to their dog. 4 dogs were injured this week. Only once was the owner told, and then inaccurately. Film proved his dog was not the aggressor and was attacked by another dog. One story was it was there to check out its socialization skills and had problems with many dogs. Why was it there? Why in with the small dogs. That owner also said 35 dogs to one pen, l attendant. A very sweet older 9 lb whiz Tsu was bitten. Owner found it, Staff never reported it and said they never saw it. Another was scratched severely. I felt guilty as I had sang the praises of Camp Bow Wow and staff until without notifying owners, they changed the policy, any dog with whatever group of size that had room for it. These injuries are just among the dogs that live in my community and which I had told it was a safe, fun, environment. 4 of the 6 pens were closed. Cheapness before safety. Called Corporate Hdgtrs. told that was not the policy of the Corporation which the franchises agree to abide by and with. They would review the videos and speak with the owner of the local franchise. This same owner does not want to give those of us refunds that purchased packages. I got my dog w/o permission of staff as I felt she was endangered and left. Never again will I ever put her at risk. Camp Bow Wow is NOT SAFE TO TAKE YOUR DOG TO REGARDLESS OF SIZE. THE STAFF IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY AND LIES. read more

I boarded my 2 english bulldgos there for 6 days (oct 21-27) while i went back to NJ. My dogs contracted kennel cough while there. They didnt have the knowledge to know what a sick dog looks or sounds like. The owner mandates that the animals have updates shots to include bordatella. The staff never even called us about any sick animals. The owner has a hard time to call me back after 3 phone calls. The staff confirms there was numerous cases of kennel cough. The owner will not refund fee, not pay for Vet bills and states "if you read #10 on back of contract, we are not responsible." If you mandate the shot to begin with, i think you hold some responsibility for not doing a proper evaluation or monitoring of the animals that are in your care. He will sell your animal out for the money!!! $134 Vet bill to meet their requirements, $491 for boarding 6 days, $135 for Vet bill after they got kennel cough from CBW. Unsat read more

Frankly, it pains me to see 1-2 star reviews for Camp Bow Wow. I have been taking my dog Karma to Camp Bow Wow Tampa South Shore for more than a year--doggie day care and overnight boarding. These folks genuinely care for our fur babies. My dog is so excited when she gets to go and that is a good sign as well. Your dog will let you know if they are mistreated. If you haven't checked them out, do so. The care-givers are true professionals that clearly enjoy what they do every day. read more

They have a bunch of young people that look like part timers as a "dog behavioral experts" my dog is very playful with other dogs, they took my dog in and in less than 5 minutes he was out saying that he was aggressive with other dogs. They were very surprise when I mention I was in shock because he had been in other dog boarding locations without any incident and that they were recommended by a neighbor who take her two dogs there and one of her dog is extremely aggressive toward other dogs but they did not had an issue in having her there. The little I could see on the cameras he was playing and running around. He did got scare when a bigger dog stood in front of him and he just started to run in the other direction but did not saw any aggression coming from him at all. My recommendation take your dog to Canine Cavana they have professional trainers there and understand better dog behavior. You have lost several potential clients and I will make sure nobody I know will go there. read more

We have been taking our 2 dogs to camp bow wow for awhile now and absolutely love it. Our dogs love camp. They are so busy there with their friends they come home exhausted. The great thing is you can look at them on the live web cam and see them interacting with the other dogs. The counselors there are awesome and you can tell they love dogs. They give all the dogs attention throughout the day so they get that human feel. We are so pleased with camp bow wow and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for doggie daycare. read more

My dogs absolutely love going to camp! We are always greeted by name and with smiles! We've been loyal customers for the past 4 years, and I can't imagine taking them anywhere else! My 9 month old Golden Retriever had been to another Doggy Day Camp and when I picked him up, he was upset, his tail was tucked between his legs, would not look at me or allow me to pet him; the camp staff also told me my puppy was very submissive and they had to isolate him from the other dogs (I thought to myself OMG, why did I bring him here if he was going to be left alone, I could have left him home and not have to pay for the services). I was very saddened and vowed not to put in him into another camp. Circumstance changed with my job and I did not want my puppy to be alone all day for 9-10 hours, so did some research and found Camp Bow Wow (which was very close to where I live). I took him for his interview session, with a lot of hesitation; once we arrive, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, they knew how to calm him down and took him into a private room to have a 1:1 session with another dog (my heart was aching, as I still echo the information given to me from the other day camp - my dog was submissive). To my dismay, Camp Bow Wow staff came out and told me, Bruno (my doggy) did very well in his 1:1, he went up to the other dog and made friends very quickly. Bruno was taken to the room with other dogs his size, and I left him there for the day. I was worried about him being there, due to my past experience, and the staff encouraged me to download the web cam and observe my dogs interaction (again I was surprised, as the other Camp was offended when I asked if they had a doggy-cam for me to observe my dog, their response was - "We do not allow cameras in the facility and if you want to check your dog out, you can see a picture of him on Facebook" I was horrified - should have listen to my instinct and not let him stay; but I digress, lets continue to talk about Camp Bow Wow). I looked at Bruno throughout the day and observed him participate in play with other dogs. Pick up time - Bruno greeted me with excitement and his tail was wagging the entire time. I was very happy (needless to say, he slept like a baby that night from all the exercise he did). I took him back again, and he could not go in fast enough to the facility and was greeted with lots of petting and smile.
