We have been taking our dog here for a couple of weeks now and she loves daycare. Today we decided to go ahead and try out the grooming services. Never again. They did not do anything that we asked of them. It looks like a completely different dog. We explicitly told them how to groom the dog and it was done the exact opposite and when asked about it the answer was "this is always how I groom the dogs with this type of hair." Not acceptable. They cut her eye lashes, left patches, and shaved her, when we said not to shave her. We will NEVER have her groomed here again. read more

Great Place! So happy this opened in SH. My pup basically leaps out of car straight inside every time I drop her off. They have smaller play groups which is perfect, as there is enough dogs for my pup to socialize and play with without me worrying that she isn't receiving adequate supervision as I fear sometimes in the facilitates with tons of dogs. The place is super cute an my pup never comes home smelling dirty. The owners are great! I ran into them once at a public dog park and my pup was so excited and played with them and their dog the whole time, which was awesome and made me feel even more comfortable dropping her off there. My nearly 2 year old dog who we recently rescued needed to burn off some serious puppy energy. This is a great place for her. Natalie and Kendra are super awesome and take great care of the dogs. They ensure all are up to date with vaccinations, the place is clean, and dogs have a good temperament. They gave Ellie a trial with smaller dogs and she did great on her first day. She gets so excited when she knows we're approaching the facility. I LOVE how they post pics on their Facebook page and give a brief update on how your pooch did for the day. I plan to use them for boarding and purchase a package soon. For now, she goes once a week for a full day. Highly recommend! read more

Been taking my pups here for awhile and love it. Owners are very nice and accommodating. Convenient location and my dogs seem to love it. One of the best parts is the owners post pictures on social media of the dogs having fun each day so that's great to see and I love their commentary. MY DOG DIED less than 24 hours after being brought home from this facility!!! By far the worst place in the Tampa Bay area! They are cheap for a reason- you're giving your furry loved ones to people who appear to be untrained with no attention to detail and a severe lack of compassion for the dogs. I recently boarded 2 dogs (an elderly corgi and a young bull terrier) for 3 days. They were given instructions ahead of time on how to care for the dogs and did not do any of it. My poor corgi came back and is currently dying. It seems as though they did not put forth effort in ensuring either of the dogs were hydrated. In fact, my corgi is in the vet with an IV now due to dehydration. He also suffered hypothermia at this facility. We have boarded dogs in various places all over Tampa and came here due to positive reviews from the day care. I'm not sure where the disconnect is, but it seems as if boarding may have a completely different staff because we (and other reviewers) received terrible TERRIBLE care. I cannot stress enough that this place is absolutely awful. Please reconsider taking your pets here. It is not worth it. Splurge for a place that is going to love and care for you pet. read more

My experience was very disappointing. I selected this place due to the reviews and felt confident when bringing her because of them. I emailed and verbally told the owner about bringing her for boarding on 12/30 and they confirmed both times. On the day of, the owner told me that if I wanted to leave her on the 30th, I wouldn't get her back for 3 days because the daycare would be closed for NYE and NY day. I was shocked because they never told me that on both occasions when I let them know. His response really told me a lot about him and the place which was "you should've checked our social media, I posted on there that it would be closed" I reminded him of the two conversations we had and he was not apologetic at all but rather very dismissive. I also have no idea who would've watched my pet on those days since the place was closed? Additionally, when I dropped her off she was terrified to go in there and I could hear dogs crying from the front desk. After my conversation with the owner I had to find an alternative option last minute for someone to pick her up ASAP and remove her from there. This was my second time coming here and I should've known not to come back from my first visit when the owner and a front desk girl were speaking negatively about other customers with each other in front of us during our first visit and again, I could hear dogs crying inside. I will not be bringing my pet there again and would not recommend it. It seems as though they have a higher emphasis on logos and the outside look of the place rather than the importance of customer service and truly delivering a good experience for their main/only customers - the pets and their owners. read more

I cannot speak to boarding, but I can say that the GROOMING IS HORRIBLE. I could and have done a better job my yorkie's har is so uneven and patchy I had to take scissors and even it out as much as possible. I was told to leave a picture with what I wanted the girl at the front desk took a picture of the picture. I was called not even within the hour for pick up which I thought was strange for grooming. I mentioned it when I showed up to pick him up and Kendry said it was because they only schedule one dog at a time, he proceeds to charge me first then brings out my dog. My dog was completely shaved down and he had such a nice length coat. I I didnt complain because 1) i was in shock how do you fuck up when i left a picture and 2) why argue about something that will eventually be fixed his hair will grow out, only it SO UNEVEN I am going to have a second shave to get it evened out as his mustache on the leffis longer and has his whiskers but the right side is all short no whiskers but has a right sided beard. And they cut his tail! WTF, IDK?! Either go somewhere else for grooming or do it yourself you will have better results. Another reviewer posted pictures and those are exactly the same results I got. read more

I was working longer hours and needed a place to take my pup so he wouldn't have to be left home all day.. I went around trying out different daycares in the area and barks to riches was hands down the best one! I love that they have toys for my furbaby to play with along with other dogs with great temperaments. He loves going and whines in the car when we are about a couple miles away.. as I pull into the location he is barking and wagging his tail with excitement and always runs to greet the owners kendry and natalie. I feel comfortable leaving him there all day knowing he's being well cared for and playing to his hearts content. At the end of the day I get to see pics they post on facebook and all the cute captions with it. He also comes back cleaner compared to other places and super tired/sleeping the whole way home. STAY AWAY. This place almost killed my dog today. In fact, my dog is in the hospital now, seeing if he will make it or not. My family has an elderly dog with special health needs, and we were assured by the facility that they were fully equipped to care for him. Lies. They bathed our elderly dog OUTSIDE IN 55 DEGREE WEATHER IN COLD WATER. This gave my dog HYPOTHERMIA. The owner tried to tell me he returned the dog to us "dry and warm". Again, false. He was soaking wet and freezing. My dog was also not properly given water, and is now severely dehydrated. They clearly did not ensure he drank. The vet said there's no way he's had much water at all in 3 days (the length of his stay). Our other dog who also stayed, was also clearly not given proper water, as she ran directly to her water bowl upon arriving home and guzzled the entire thing (incredibly out of character). We are currently waiting to see if our dog will make it out of hypothermia and dehydration. STAY AWAY FROM THIS INCOMPETENT PLACE FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR DOG. read more

This daycare facility is not equipped to take care of dogs. My neighbors left their elderly handicapped dog here to board for a few nights and they did not properly take care of him. They did not follow instructions for feeding him or helping him drink, so he went without food and water for 3 days. And they hosed him off outside in cold weather after he peed on himself - keeping in mind he is paralyzed and needs assistance. He then became hypothermic. They leave the dogs alone all night. They are not professional and cannot take care of dogs with any special needs. After two emergency vet visits they had to put their dog down. Their vet wrote a detailed letter about the lack of care he received at Barks to Riches. This is unacceptable. This facility needs trained professionals to be caring for dogs. When doing our own walkthrough, they do not wear masks and they canceled several of our daycare appointments, THANKFULLY. They also delete negative feedback. So I will be posting this daily. Take your dogs ANYWHERE else. read more

I was looking for a place to board my dog, Louie, because I had to go out of town and my regular person moved to California. I saw Barks to Riches on a community message board and talked to the owner, Kendry, that day. I was a little nervous because Louie can be funny with people sometimes. Well, I brought him in and the was met by the other owner, Natalie and Louie was good with her right from the start. Then Kendry came out and showed us around and Louie met a few dogs and I was on my way. I called a bit later and was assured he was doing OK. Since then they have posted plenty of pictures on their Facebook page and I can tell Louie is having a great time and getting plenty of exercise. This will certainly be my doggie daycare even when I work in town as it's much better than having him bored in the house all day. Looks like a top notch business with very knowledgeable and dog friendly people that interact with the dogs a lot. read more

It's great to have a doggie daycare right in Seminole Heights but even better to have one owned by such a great team. The owners, Natalie and Kendry, have gone above and beyond to make sure our dog has a good time with them. Our dog can get overwhelmed and both of the owners have taken the time to really get to know him - they worked closely with him his first few visits to get him acclimated and continue to go out of their way to make sure he has a great experience. Because he is comfortable there now he's clearly become more playful and confident while he's there because he comes home exhausted. Every time I pick him up they are willing and able to give me a detailed account of his day which I really appreciate. I have toured many other daycares in the area and really prefer the small group setting and one-on-one attention Barks to Riches provides. I would not hesitate to recommend Barks to Riches to anyone looking for place for their pup to burn off some energy - especially if they may need some extra attention to get comfortable. read more
