I have asked multiple times for information regarding the camp, prices, dates, payment plans,…read morescholarship opportunities, etc., without any reply other than check the website. Actually the first e-mail was not even replied to. The second e-mail was slightly better only in the fact they replied. I highly would NOT recommend this camping site.

Both years have taken him one step closer to independence and maturity using masculine fun laced with grit. It is tough, hot, grueling but also engaging, unique, and cultivating as these boys come back more mature and tougher because of this experience. It is refreshing to have this opportunity available to help prepare to launch my son into the real world through these expeditions. My son was exposed to survival skills, camping, leadership, team work, various tactics, orienteering, land navigation, knot tying, knife handling, shelter building, night navigation, geocaching, fire building, capture the flag, laser tag, first aid, basic self defense, swimming, planning and completing hikes, survival skills, etc. over the course of five days and four nights. Surely my son will think back on his encounter with Squad Stx Boys Camp and be grateful for the chance at such a fantastic venture.

If you are used to ruffing it, then this is probably a good place to be. However, not me. The rooms…read morethat we stayed in were Motel 6 at best. The beds were hard and not comfortable. The cafeteria food was just that. Remember the lunch when you were in school, back in the day or the TV dinners that we had growing up? That is exactly what you will get. This may be a good place for young kids but as a grown up, I do not recommend unless you are a outdoorsy person. We went out as a group and it was definitely not up to our standards at all. The staff was nice and the activity that we did was fun, but again this really has to be for people that like to ruff it.

There were good activities here for them that included inside game play, full basketball court, archery, volleyball, workout area, and a huge lake area to name a few. I learned archery while I was here. I surprise myself Lol. The lake area has a huge water activity for people to enjoy. Sleeping arrangements are cabins (bunk beds twin size) with shared showers and restrooms. You share with the group you're with. What I didn't like was ALLL THE WALKING!!! OMG! Be prepared to do a lot of walking because a lot of the areas are spaced out with the lake being the longest walk. If you are here when the sun is frying you like I was, make sure you are drinking plenty of water!!

Parking was a little different since we parked across the street, but it was free, which was a nice surprise. The restrooms were clean, there were snacks and drinks available, and since we weren't sure what to expect, we ate beforehand. The real magic was watching all four of my kids, ages 4 to 12, find something they genuinely loved. That doesn't happen everywhere! From arts and crafts to climbing, sliding, exploring, and creating, there was something for every personality and energy level. No one was bored. Not even for a minute. As a mom, I appreciated the clean environment, family friendly atmosphere, and free Wi-Fi. As a M.O.M.=maker of memories maker, I loved seeing my kids laugh, play, and discover new things together. If you're looking for a place where kids can burn energy, spark creativity, and make memories, Spark is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be back!

There is an area for creativity, a piano, a huge playground that is about 2 stories high. The slide is fast so be careful but my grandson loved it and it was certainly his pace.
