We didn't check out the camping area, but I'm sure it's super busy during the summer months. Took a long walk on the beach, and loved the rocky LI Sound shoreline and the gorgeous views of the hills in the distance. First time here, I'd be happy to come back again, off season or after hours; I bet the sunsets are AMAZING!!!

Picnic site: I wouldn't recommend it if you're traveling far to come here…read more Camping site: 100% recommend to get away from your busy everyday life! Just make sure to pack your sprays for protection against bugs (ticks). Forget about firewood. You're not allowed to bring your own. You make your reservation through a link on NYS parks. You pack up your car, truck, trailer & you make your way out there! Don't forget your grill! They have sites available for tents and another section for trailers so you can cook up for water and electricity. Oh, and they have cottages you can reserve but they're booked in blocks of 7 days. What I love about wildwood state park is that it's very clean and they have great staff and the park rangers. They are very helpful and nice. They made checking in very easy. They'll give you a pass for the car and make sure it's on your dashboard so you don't end up with a ticket. The restrooms are super clean and they have shower stalls in side. They're always cleaning. I can hear them SCRUBBING the shower stalls as I use the toilet. Of course, keep in mind that during the "rush", it isn't as clean but they come and clean it. It's open 24/7. There are sinks outside of the restroom and some people use it to wash their dishes. I wish they'd clean up after their food scraps but humans are humans. Once you set up your camp, you can leave for the beach. Or you can go out to check out the local farms or shops if you're willing to drive out. It's nice. You should especially if you have little ones with you. If you don't want little creatures and critters all over your food, make sure you pack it away once you're done eating and throw out the garbage. They have dumpsters stationed through the camping grounds along with bins where you can dump your hot coals. I'm not taking chances with raccoons or squirrels so I dump my garbage at the end of the day. Wildwood state park also has a nice camp store. The gentlemen who work there are very nice so please don't be rude to them. (Someone was screaming at the poor man over chicken tenders/fingers). They sell ice cream, bags of ice, food, coffee, firewood, and fire pits for rental. Happy camping!

This scout…read morereservation is well maintained and it included various activities spots, which include archery, fishing, obstacle course, etc. There are several bathrooms on site and they are relatively clean. The main road is mostly paved, but vehicles are prohibited on the road. There are several trails on the site, but the problem is that the trails are not clearly marked. A few red/white/blue/yellow marks on the poles along the trail, but it was not easy for people who never camp at this site to follow the trail. We had problem finding my way, but some experienced scouts helped us. We set up camp fire at our camp site and it was so much fun. Each camp site was clearly marked and there was a bathroom nearby the camp site. Overall this camp site is good, we look for ward coming back on another day.

The website provided all the information we needed to be prepared for our adventure. Upon arrival, Joe and Connor got us fitted with our safety vests and our kayaks and then gave us lessons on how to use the paddle, get in/out of the kayak and provided general navigation and waterway guidance; from there we were off and loving life! We kayaked in Cold Spring Harbor just behind the lab and had an awesome time. It was so relaxing and quiet as we glided across the water. Joe led us in the front and Connor picked up the rear so we always felt safe and in good hands. Since this was our first time, we opted for a 1hour lesson/tour and Joe told us that most of his customers, at the end of the tour, say they wanted more time. Miss Chris is an exceptional director! She has so much knowledge and hires the best staff. You can tell she holds them to a high standard. I never worry about if my daughter is getting what she needs while with them. They have taught her so much over the years, and they have appropriate ratios so nobody is overwhelmed by too many kiddos. Seriously, the difference this daycare has made for me is incredible. Follow the signs. Thereis parking to the side of the main house. This visit had a tour of plants . There is a pond, fire pit and picnic tables throughout the area.it is a nature preserve park with many native plants along with some for sale. I suggest wearing a hat and sunscreen. While there are paths, sturdy shoes or work boots are good too along with a bottle of water. I did sera sign for bathrooms as well. They have a compost pile on the side.if you happen to have peelings from vegetables feel free to drop them off on your visit and learn how they make black gold for the soil.

We had a group of about 15 Cub scouts there finishing the ferns and animal related topic badge. The lady who gave a lesson about how to track or discover animals around us during our daily life, but the lesson was in a small room with no AC. The boys were not interested in the discussion at all. The session was informative to the parents, but the lady seemed unable to handle younger kids. We then took a nature walk outside and the boys were very into the hike. The trail was clearly marked and easy to access by foot. Parking lot was relatively small. Overall it was an okay experience.
