I brought one of them yesterday and she had so much fun and wanted to come again. It's obviously meant for all kids but as a heads up, I think it's best for neurotypical kids aged 1-5. Beyond five and I can see them getting bored quickly unless they come to play with a friend or siblings. Lots of gross motor activities as well as an arts and crafts room for fine motor skills and a game room too if your kid likes that kind of stuff. They have a zip line and a trampoline and a climbing wall too. I talked to the 3 year old I babysit that there are kids here who play differently from her. I told her they calm and soothe differently from her and sometimes they have a harder time waiting. We talked in the car about letting other kids have a turn first and we can come back to a toy if a friend is having a hard time sharing. She very much understood and didn't hesitate in the new environment. She hasn't per se been exposed to neurodivergent friends so I thought she did amazing - kind & offering preferred items first to others. Anyway, a great way to spend a cold or rainy day. They always keep parents informed of happenings with the kids. There is always a warm welcome, clear expectations for kids and parents, quality instruction, and so much love given daily by all of the teachers and staff. Music and yoga every week, along with tons of outside time as well as structured and choice time in the classroom. Both of our kids loved being part of the LCPC family.

I'm not sure how much has changed over the years but it was easily one of the best weeks of my life. I learned archery, kayaking, canoeing & embossing. At the time, you could pay $5.00 and choose to make any craft that they had to offer; I still have a wooden dog I painted (if you press it's nose it plays music) and it was the first time I ever participated in a scavenger hunt. The camp grounds were always kept very clean, the staff was amazing and it was nice to see that the property is exactly as I left it. I attended a wedding here today & would recommend Camp Whitewood to anyone looking for an affordable & alternative wedding venue. Although our friends explained to us that you cannot have alcohol unless you rent all six buildings but this didn't ruin our evening. The building they choose had two bathrooms, a decent sized kitchen, a large stage & plenty of room for eating & dancing. Younger children might be bored as there isn't a playground; however, you can enjoy a fire pit or a stroll through the woods. All the buildings, with the exception of the cabins, are handicap accessible . There's also plenty of parking in a secluded area surrounded by nature. So weather you're considering hosting your next event here or having your children stay for a week or two; Camp Whitewood is the place to be!

The playscape was older but our toddler had fun with it- the safety features of the newer playgrounds is missing so keep a close eye on smaller kids. They also had a swing set but no bucket swings for littles and some of the swings were broken. There is a larger kids play area as well that looks like something off ninja warrior which would be fun for them to play with. They have trails, a dog park, community garden, and a splash pad which we saw but didn't use. It was a nice green space overall

They seemed to truly love the kids there in a way that was genuine and touching. It was so warm and welcoming. The director was patient, kind, and gentle with the children. You could tell that she loved her job, the kids, and the families she worked with. I was very disappointed that they did not have an opening for us. Friends of ours send their children to Family Life have nothing but wonderful things about it.

The teacher also asks me what I would like them to do more during school for him. I have noticed a huge change in his social, verbal skills and overall self since attending this school. He had never been in a school environment prior to this. He also needed to start wearing glasses full time and they are very helpful in making sure he is wearing and protecting them. My son comes home singing songs, telling me about his day and all the new things he has learned. I am very pleased with Family Life and definitely recommend to anyone.
