The playground rests on a soft, rubber surface with freshly poured sidewalk surrounding. Plenty of benches and tables so you can closely watch your kids. There are swings- 2 traditional, 1 inclusive harness, and one duo. Nice and shady under a tree. The playground has two play things- the smaller one is great for toddlers and is themed like a firetruck. Great features and cute details. The larger set has many slides, things to climb on, and fun learning visuals. I was so pleased to see sign language, Spanish translations, and lots of fun games embedded in the set. There is a baseball diamond, a large walking path that always has doggos, and a tennis court. The only downside is that there is no parking. It's in a neighborhood, so you can pull to the side of the street and park safely alongside. But any more than maybe 4 cars and there is no accommodation. However, it's very walkable for people in the neighborhood. It's also close to the library, so take your kids to read and play! We're so lucky to have this in our neighborhood. With an abundance of activities and opportunities. It skirts Lake Erie with extensive walking paths. It also has a marvelous peer with provision for sitting and enjoying the water. There is a baseball field, extensive open lawn, pavilions, clean bathrooms, and a concession stand. The center of the park has a marvelous facility for parties of all kinds. Plus many public events. My favorite being the second Sunday of the month when they have ballroom dancing (with lessons for beginners) in a 5,000 sq. ft room. It is absolutely extraordinary! You definitely need to come see for yourself... and bring your dancing shoes.

TENNIS -- Courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis so it is recommend that you arrive early. The west court is designed for playing tennis and the east court is for volleyball or badminton. I would say that the courts are in good condition so I had fun playing tennis here. PARK -- The park is fairly large with benches around it. There is a baseball (or softball) field at the park. It is managed by the City of Lakewood and LEAF (Lakewood Earth and Food community). I will definitely come back to play tennis here this summer. There are about 8 total tennis courts and it is on a first come, first served system. If no one is using a court then you can use it. I played a lot of tennis here in the summer of 2025 and even tried Pickelball. The court conditions were standard but the pavement is worn out. Some upgrading of the courts would do wonders. The park also has a basketball court and benches to sit on. If you live on the west side of Cleveland then this park is for you. Big Creek Park in Chardon has quite a bit to recommend it, but it has one major issue: despite what…read moreis on the map and listed on Alltrails, there is no way to cross from the West side of the park to the East side of the path using the Highline Trail. There is an option to follow the Buckeye Trail but that entails a walk of about 1 mile on the roads surrounding the park. On the West Side of the park is the Creek Trail, which is a nice hiking and bridal trail that is an out and back hike. The trail winds through the woods and has a couple of views of the creek; there are some decent hills and there is a very nice picnic plaza and pond at the Ravenna Road parking lot. The East Side of the park is the main area with more options. There are about 3 miles of hiking trails, plus since the last time I was there they have added 6 miles of mountain bike trails; you can hike these trails as well, just make sure you are hiking the opposite direction the bikers are going and be alert and aware at all times. The mountain bike trails are great, winding through the woods with plenty of twists and some good elevation changes. The park also has a number of reservable camp sites with tent pads, lean-tos and "tree houses". A cool opportunity to do some camping in the forest. With the new mountain bike trails Big Creek offers some longer and more challenging hike opportunities and I will be back to do some more exploring. The Geauga Park district keeps making improvements to the park. Other then the issue with the Highline Trail there is a lot to enjoy getting out into nature.
