It's got a great vibe "Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy" and such a nice selection to choose from. "Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey. They know me and Jack Daniels got a history". But know your limit because "One, here comes the two to the three to the four" .... It's the North woods and our cabin was tucked into a spruce and birch grove. It was clean and rustic. The Beach had a water trampoline, an Iceberg float, kayaks and canoes for our use.. The lodge had some activities for the kids which is handy for a rainy day but we were never bored because we were either in the water playing or fishing Northstar Lake. Ken was very helpful with providing fishing tips, making shakes, or helping out with some minor truck trouble. Would I stay here again? I Sure would!

They also have a campground (no tents allowed) with both seasonal and turnaround sites. All but one turnaround site have full hook up. A new pool is being installed in 2021. They have free use of kayaks, canoes, water toys and swim platform. They have their own private boat launch. Great owners. Planned camp activities change weekly and they post a schedule. GREAT ice cream in the lodge. Has a guest laundry, fish cleaning house and they sell bait, ice and small snacks/pizzas.

The cabins were super clean and the owners Tim and Karen, could not have been friendlier. Many cabins to chose from right on the water. There was a nice size pool and a beach area with Kayaks, paddle boards and water sports toys. It was a great vacation and we will definitely be back.

I'd say it was just odd, tho not so bad that we weren't nose blind to it shortly after arriving & didn't notice it while in the room. King room with plenty of space, outlets, lighting, temperature control & in-room amenities. The pad on the bed wasn't pulled tight or it wasn't sized correctly. I didn't sleep well because I could feel the lumps and ripples (princess & the pea moment). If I'd noticed BEFORE getting in bed, I'd have fixed it. I was flat-out beat tho & took the lazy way out. We, again, hit up breakfast. They had the standard spread of waffle maker, eggs (scrambled, omelet-like & boiled), sausage, potatoes & we greatly appreciated the seasonings & sauces available to give that same ole same ole a bit of pop. Parking was easy & we didn't use anything here besides the room & breakfast. We arrived late & left early the next morning, to officially start our tour. Note: We were 3rd of 4 in line to check in. The gal whipped out waters for #1, thanked him for being a Diamond member, told him what his points/bonus points were, explained ALL the hotel info - pool, gym, breakfast, check-out. # 2 gets up to the desk & the gal asks if they've stayed before, she replies not here but a lot of best westerns, giggle & gives hotel some info / #2 asks if there's Diamond Elite parking spaces (casual for hey, no mention of my loyalty, perhaps?) - response was "no, we're not that fancy" - no water given. We get up & the gal says, "did you catch all that or do you want it repeated?" We say we're good & she says most important thing is breakfast is at 6a - no waters for us. #4, took her back to interaction style of #1. It could be inconsistent or efficient, depending on how you look at it. (Had we asked for water, they no doubt would have given it. We had our own & it was perfectly visible at check-in.) Hubs is Diamond Elite. We booked direct with Best Western & didn't use points.

The living room area and kitchen where very large and you could make this your base camp while exploring the area if you wish to and make a full meal to avoid the expenses of eating out for a family. The staff was super friendly and did everything possible to make our stay great. We had dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel and couldn't have been more happy. The prime rib was perfect, the Salmon was cooked perfectly. Even the kids mac n cheese was done well and not Kraft out of the box and the pizza was nice and crispy. The not kids item that was just normal was the chicken strips. We will be back! We will be back.

There's also a lodge, where you can buy things you need and hang out with other guests. Everyone is really friendly and helpful! You can swim in the lake, take out a boat, fish and relax. Can't wait to go back!!
