I've stayed in Vanderpool, Bluebird, Verner, and Fiesta. They've always had clean, warm beds and clean bathrooms. We have most of our it leadership activities in Tabernacle and A-Frame. We also use the Leisure House and the amphitheater. A few years ago we started using Tab East and Tab West. My primary job is AV. They upgraded their sound system in both Tabernacle and A-frame from last year and it is pretty awesome! They also had one wireless hand held mic and a lavelier mic for me to use. I brought in 6 of our own wireless hand held mics to plug into their system. Their video projector and mixer boards in Tabernacle, Tab West, Tab East and A-frame were wonderful. It's so nice when the tech works!! As always, confidence course (high ropes) are always a big hit for our campers! Challenge course (low ropes) is also a camper favorite. We also do bonfire on our last night of camp and the only down side to that is the 930pm sound ordinance. So over the years we have converted to playing acoustic music. I would give this camp 5 stars, but this past year, the new owners of the camp actually yelled at our RYLA chair in front of everyone, including the campers (who are high school students and are impressionable). It was bad taste, rude, and unnecessary. Also, they stopped providing dietary options for those who are gluten free. They only offer vegetarian as an alternative option. So we had adult volunteers who used their own money to make gluten-free and vegetarian options for our campers.

Visited on Saturday, November 1st, and arrived around 1 PM. Parking was $3. We first stopped at the…read morelower lake since the upper area was pretty busy, but quickly learned that the lower lake is lure fishing only--no bait allowed. So, we made our way back up to the upper lake, where bait is permitted. The upper lake was fairly crowded and a bit noisy (sound really carries there), but it's a beautiful spot overall--small, peaceful, and scenic. We stayed for about two hours, didn't catch anything, but did spot a few fish swimming around. Still a pleasant visit!

There is some boating/kayaking allowed. Boat ramps, some playground equipment, picnic tables. It costs to get in, but you can buy an annual pass which gets you into other parks in the area. There are tons of great hikes in this National Forest Service operated recreational area plus a…read morepretty small lake for fishing and a campground. We hiked a loop trail of the Willow trail (#347), the Mint Wash trail (#345) and 351, parking at the Wekuvde picnic area. On a Monday in September we only saw three other people on the trail until we came to Granite Basin Lake where there was one large group and a couple small groups picnicking. The Willow trail is beautiful, traversing gentle up and down areas of pine woodlands with 180 degree views west, north and east and has partial shade. The post monsoon wildflowers were in full bloom. The route back along Mint Wash was also lovely with 5 or 6 creek crossings, boulders, flowers and Granite Mountain views. The is a $5 parking fee for day use, or it is free with an America the Beautiful National Park pass.

Creek and streams and little lakes here and there being a much appreciated addition of beauty and life to this area! Very helpful & ready to tell you any helpful information you need while staying. We left a night early because my daughter rented the amount of days just in case we wanted to stay longer. Yet the 25th(today) is my 54th birthday & I was ready to be home for the week. We came home very rested with plenty of beautiful pics & cool experiences to tell friends & family.

I have camped in Prescott before, but never at this lake. I had heard great things about Lynx Lake…read moreand have always wanted to check it out. This lake was formed in the 1960s when they dammed Lynx Creek. It is stocked for fishing and has a campground and hiking trails around it. There are lots of animals that are native to this area like mule deer, osprey and bald eagles. I booked a campsite here during the summer because I own a kayak and wanted to get out on the water. After setting up my site, I headed over to Lynx Lake. I was a little disappointed to see the water so low. I guess in late 2024, the lake was partially drained to fix a mechanical failure in the dam's outlet valve. It has to rely entirely on natural rain and snow to be refilled and could take years to get back to normal. So we just did a hike around the lake and headed back to our campsite. Lynx Campground has around 35 campsites with a picnic table, fire ring and a grill at each site. There are no RV hook-ups, but they do have drinking water and toilets. The campsite is about half a mile directly south of Lynx Lake. We enjoyed our campsite and had a fun time. We had to partially share our site with another family because their giant tent spilled onto our site (which was annoying). But we made the most of it. The nice thing is that the Town of Prescott isn't too far away if you need any food or supplies. As for kayaking, we were able to do that over at Watson Lake. You can book a campsite ahead of time on Recreation.gov.

Campsite had a fire pit and picnic table. They had bathrooms which I'll be honest, I've never seen so many flies at once. You open the door and they fly right out at you like a movie lol. We also encountered three bears around 10:30pm. We didn't know there were bears in the area. They did have a post by the bathroom on how to be "bear aware" but nothing about sightings, so I thought I'd warn here. I'm pretty sure it was a mom and two cubs. Overall would stay here again!

The laundry services have been down for three months. Instead of fixing this service for more than…read more150 campers and forcing them to take their laundry to town , they increased the monthly rent to $20 more a month. The average camper spends $20/month for laundry services so the Park should giive everyone $20 instead of increasing the rent $20.

The bathrooms were spacious, and there is a trail directly behind the park that leads out to Willow Lake and a plethora of trails for the trail runner/hiker/explorer. They had great wi-fi and the area has lots of trees and shade and picnic tables too! We actually arrived late for check-in the the office left our our map and information for us. We had a 30' RV we wanted to pull through and had no problems with this park. I'd recommend a stop-in here for sure! Their neat little tent-camp sites were even closer to the lake and the trails.
