As other reviewers wrote, the area is very no frills. My 2 complaints were 1) the bath House was not open so we used the port-a-johns. They looked like they had not been cleaned out in months. All 4 were vile. 2) there were no signs about rules of the lake. Our children were using tubes and a plastic kayak. After 3 hours of using them by the beach, we were then reprimanded for using these items in the swimming/ ropes off area. Just wish that there was a sign that informed us as to what was and not allowed. Overall, had a wonderful day.

Also Warning!!!!!.....TAKE EVERYTHING WITH YOU OR LOCK IT ALL UP IF YOU LEAVE FOR THE DAY. We spent a day sightseeing and came back to all of our wood, our tablecloth, tablecloth clips..all gone. We almost left our camp chairs and table behind but luckily decided to pack them and take with us for the day. So this is a family friendly campground and during the week we had no problem but obviously some low-life thieves came for Saturday night. Put a damper on our last day of vacation. Usually people who camp are cool but you always get a couple of jerks. Just beware. So updating my review. We found the thieves. They're so stupid they had our stuff out in the open. Anyway confronted them (they said they thought we had left... Really? So you take our stuff before 7 PM and then you don't say anything when we return ....and you're right across the street ??wow!!) . There is a river across the road with a swimming hole my grandfather made by building up rocks year ago. The is the Toland state national park with a beach near by and the sweetest store named Katie's near there. The campground has a wonderful unground pool and a small rev hall with a jukebox, pool table and some table tennis... there are also clean bathrooms with nice showers. It had water and electric and great views of the woods, a little creek below and it offered the right amount of privacy. We really enjoyed our stay here. We stuck mostly to our site for the two nights we were here. There is a pool, it's small but decent on site although next to the busy road. There is a rec hall but doesn't have much to offer except for a Ping pong table, an old piano and some table and chairs. It's pretty outdated and run down as are the bathrooms although clean and plenty of hot water. The store on site in the office has a few things on the shelf but shouldn't rely on getting things there. There is a country store few miles down the road, Katie's which has everything, butcher shop, beer, wine, fresh baked pies and pretty much anything you can think of. The outhouse/ports potty up in the Maple Hill site area is very clean and was fine to use. CJ who runs the place and lives on site is great and is happy to help if you need something. Overall we loved the site we were on, there were some on Maple Hill that were wooded and secluded as well, H is halfway from office/pool to end so great location. If you are looking for a place to just hang out on your site, enjoy the woods and camping experience without running from activity to activity you find at other resorts and don't need a lot of frilly things then it's a good place for you.

Cabins are new and fairly spacious, with bathroom facilities and clean water points provided in close proximity to all campsites. Shout out to Addison on staff for his professionalism and care, we felt like he tried to make sure we got the best experience possible with tips about wildlife and an overall positive attitude that impacted both of our group stays this year. While the trek to BBF was 3/4 mi from the NY parking lot, the jaunt to Campbell Falls was much closer from our dirt parking area. Both falls were similar heights. I inclined to say that BBF was a little higher. Intrepid Paul ventured into the deep pool at the bottom. He looked refreshed. Mountain goat Jamie climbed up the steep terrain to the right of the Falls, and appeared to be standing right in the middle of it at the top. In reality, there is also an opening in the paved road at the top that allows one to get close. Be careful if you do this !!!!!. All-in-all, worth the trip.

State parks charge more for less. - Quiet setting - Wooded sites - All sites have water and some have water and electric - Clean bathrooms and showers (only 2 of each but in 2 evenings, I never had an issue. I was gone during the day and not sure what it's like in that timeframe. it's not a large campground and there are multiple RVs and I suspect they use their own facilities.) - You will receive a welcome bag at check-in with a site map to help you get to your site, the rules and regs, a guide to The Berkshires, a large garbage bag, and a pen. - The On-site laundry is in a small cabin-like building. It is clean and has a table, two chairs, and many books - On-site propane station - Large playground, an entertainment pavilion, a rec room (I didn't use them so not sure what's included) I will definitely stay again if/when I'm the area.

U-Drive Boat Rental makes it super easy; everything from from reserving the boat to getting out on the water is a a breeze Andy and his dedicated staff will do whatever it takes to ensure a terrific day on the lake - they even offer to help load your bags onto the boat. The views are spectacular and the water is divine so don't forget your bathing suits! The boats are in tip top shape and most have a nice shade awning to get out of the sun if you like. All boats are equipped with life jackets so you can put one on and float in the water - which is also lovely to do!
