I love to kayak, and my fiance has never kayaked before. We decided to rent a couple of kayaks last weekend at U-Drive and check out Pontoosuc Lake. I am also the Group Sales Manager at a lovely boutique hotel in Berkshire County and was particularly interested in our experience from start to finish to determine my comfort level in recommending this Berkshire service to our guests. Without hesitation I would encourage folks of any age to check it out. The reservation process was very accommodating to our schedule, we were greeted immediately, welcomed with enthusiasm by two team members, fitted for our gear and in the water in minutes. We had such a relaxing and fun time - especially since it was in the 90s and very hot outside, even at 4pm when we arrived. The icing on the cake was the invitation to stay for a burger and hot dog once we were off the water. That was so unexpected and it was nice to hang out with other patrons. My next trip to U-Drive will definitely be to rent a Pontoon. I was intrigued and loved the fact that the two groups we observed spanned over four generations. Life does not get much better than that. I am blessed to have grown up in Berkshire County. read more

I recently organized a lakeside event on Onota Lake (just down the road), and went to the only boat rental there in the hope of renting about 10 assorted canoes, kayaks, and a driven pontoon boat for the better part of a Saturday. To my dismay, instead of being given even a slight discount from their price list for each rental, they insisted that I needed to pay a crazy premium since I was "leaving them with too few boats to rent to other walk in renters on that day".(??) I walked out dejected and thinking that the event might have to be cancelled since that was the only place on Onota lake to rent boats. Luckily, I called Berkshire U-Drive Boat Rental, and asked Andy if he would consider delivering the rentals to our event location on Onota Lake. Not only was he happy to do it, he did it for about 1/3 the price quoted over there! Do yourself a favor, avoid the boat rental at Onota Lake since the owners there treat you like prey, and stick with Berkshire U-Drive Boat Rental. You will be much happier, promise! read more

Andy, Thank you for THE boat ride of the summer of 2018. Four of us took the Red Pontoon from 4:30-7:00pm and it could not have been more perfect!! Serene little waves lapped at the boat, as we took in beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. A little wine and cheese only helped create the great experience, as did the Bluetooth music. Small enough to navigate around, and large enough to almost get lost on and give you wonderful privacy, the lake delights! Had it been a bit warmer we were prepared to dive in. Amazing customer service from the crew and the onwer Andy. They helped me fit a life jacket for my lil man. We rented a Pontoon boat for four hours. The boat was clean, had Bluetooth for music. Nice speed for the boat . We had 6 people on the Pontoon and there was plenty space for everyone. The lake was just beautiful and clean!. Andy's customer service is just exceptional. Great company with great people! My family and I rented a house on the lake and decided to rent a pontoon boat for a half day on the water. The 6 kids also wanted to do some tubing. Andy (owner) met us out on the water with his Bayliner and picked up the kids while the adults relaxed on the pontoon. Kids had a blast! Andy was a top-shelf class act guy. Had an absolutely amazing time renting a jetski! The whole experience was smooth and well organized from start to finish. We had a 3-generation lake outing on one of the pontoon boats on July 5. It was a super busy day for the business, but the outstanding staff was patient, helpful, and efficient in getting all the cars parked, the paperwork completed, and the boat launched on time.
