I first stopped in here to see what sports programs they have for my 4 year old. I came in after…read moreschool and it was pretty wild. Kids were all over the place and there was once "adult". She was busy on the phone and I had to wait for a few minutes just to get some info for sports. While waiting I was surprised by the kid's behavior. They were running around, cussing, and some were outside in the front unattended to. I don't know if this the normal for this place but I know that I would never in a million years sign my kids up for their after school program. I am signing my kids up for some sports programs but I will be there with them. Hopefully they are more organized then when I stopped in. I will definitely update my review after we do a program. BTW, they have a lot of really cool (hopefully) programs for kids of all ages. If baseball goes well I will definitely sign all the kids up for something.

Either they don't pick up the phone, never call back or always have some excuse as to why the check isn't ready. My husband finally got through to some man via phone call after calling literally 9 times, and was told that he can come pick up the check today to which my husband confirmed the time, etc and took off work early in order to get to the camp office on time. Once there, he was told that the check was mailed back to the "other" office and when my husband asked why they couldn't call him or at least not confirm the pickup today and perhaps not tell him that the check is ready; both the supervisor and the man looked perplexed. Mind you, this has been one of our many, many, many attempts in trying to get our rightful money back and they always have some excuse. Please, take your child somewhere else! We just moved from NYC so we do have experience with various camps and this camp hires barely-there looking teens with no experience who only know how to harass the parents if their child jumped too high and immediately have the child picked up cause the workers don't want to do anything and it clearly shows! It may seem like a good idea cause of the price but you get what you pay for, if not a lot less so save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else where your child can get a decent experience.

We brought wrap around services back in, and while schools were closed/remote, we managed him at home with some psych admissions to Del Amo, with in person return to Switzer Learning Center, but transitioned him to a full public school for the last two years of high school where he graduated with high honors and Dean's List. It's expensive and we were looking at money running out in the next couple years. So I was tasked w contacting, following up and completing the application thru Veterans Advocacy Associates. It was A LOT of info gathering, but well worth the additional benefit of $2200/month. Free money! Kurt guided me with the forms and documents I needed to gather and he finished the rest. It took me about a month to get everything together and Kurt an additional 2 weeks and the package was finally sent. And in another 2 weeks, he called and asked me to check the bank account. Voila! He said we got the max amount in the shortest amount of time in his experience. Yes, I possibly could have done this without their assistance, but they've done it before and knew the ropes. Sure, the help was free. But, in the end, we're getting financial assistance that we really didn't know existed or was available. For their efforts, we donated approx 70% of the first amount back to VAA for their time & help. Would def recommend Veterans Advocacy Associates!

As a mom, I felt really guilty for not being able to spend the summer off with them. I am so glad I found the boys and girls club! My boys were excited to go every day. They looked forward to the weekly field trips. They loved it so much that I have now enrolled them in the after school program. It is much more structured and less chaotic than the middle school after school program my older son attended last year. My boys are constantly talking about what they did at the boys and girls club! I highly recommend the boys and girls club at the Lakeland Village community center!

You might find your child's clothes a bit messy at pickup, but the joy and laughter on their faces are so worth it! What's really cool is the monthly photo thing they do. I was told that by the time your kiddo graduates, you get this adorable album of all their preschool memories. My kid loves this place. It is so nice to see soo many veterans come together at the events and also learn about all of the off road therapy that they offer to the veterans. They offer support to veterans with disabilities and give them an opportunity to be part of an awesome organization.
