If you are FAT or TALL or your kid is FAT you will not fit in the small triangle that you must humiliating squeeze though to be able to do the "caving" I saw a grown woman crying because guess what ...if you don't fit your kids can't participate. You need to go with them. and for gooood reason....the caves are pure terror... 3. CAVE trauma ...Children including my own daughter got stuck and lost in the "caves" my 11yr old was banging on the wall for over 20mins until a random person found her, you can't hear her because it's loud in there. I saw another two kids terrified and hysterical looking though a small plastic window in the wall..they were stuck and NO staff helped a parent had to try to go in and find them but got lost. 4. The rock climbing itself was not fun at all the treks up are *VERY* short and most are super easy even for kids...ropes dangling all over, just awful. I've been to several climbing gyms and was a novice climber for fun in my younger years. I've never been to such a poorly organized kids party where adults and children alike were crying. If you are thin go alone and plan to avoid the caves you might like it there. Otherwise avoid. See the triangle that all adults and all children must fit though for your kids to even go to the birthday party if that alone is not awful enough if you don't fit or happen to be claustrophobic there is no staff there that can go on with the kids. Dirty and it's clear that the mats, walls and definitely the "caves" do not get cleaned. Avoid at all costs.

I was made to believe that this was really just "my kid". Since 2021, I have heard many stories that are the exact same as ours, just yesterday another one of my sisters friends had the SAME experience. I feel obligated to share. My son went to Schodack in the summer of 2021 and will never try another sleepaway camp as he is truly scarred (as are we as parents). He is missing this beautiful opportunity because Schodack is ill equipped to handle children. To sum it up, the directors and owners called me at least 3 DAYS A WEEK to tell me my child was sad, homesick, "emotionally distressed" and that this was not normal. I was under the impression homesickness was normal for a first time camper (I was homesick when I first went to sleepaway). Regardless, after a couple of weeks (he was only there for 3 and 1/2), they asked that I COME AND GET HIM because his "sadness wasn't good for the other children. Since that summer I have heard from numerous families through friends of friends that have too said the owners called them and asked them to also PICK UP THEIR HOMESICK CHILDREN! I have never heard of such a thing and feel truly sad that my son missed out on what could have been a great experience, he will never give sleepaway another try after his awful Schodack experience. Terrible Directors & Terrible Owners. I do NOT recommend sending your children here.

We were lucky that they happened to have an immediate space for our infant and the only reason we withdrew her was when her slot on the waitlist at our employer's day care finally opened up. The staff is the perfect combination of professional and affectionate with the children and the facility is clean and modern with lots of developmentally appropriate toys. The teachers really work hard to do more than just watch the children - they are conducting daily developmental play even with the small infants. The app was such a blessing for us anxious new parents - getting photos and updates throughout the day eased us tremendously. It's a little pricey, but I can honestly say it was worth every penny.

Great waterfall view just off the main parking lot. It's actually shocking how great the falls…read morelook and how close it is to the parking lot. You can walk up to get farther up the falls also. The lake loop is a nice walk through fairly easy grounds. Trail follows a variety of wooded areas, grassy paths, and raised board walks. You circle the lake and then come back to the start. You could also park at other spots (the opposite end, or the swimming area). The lake is swimmable with a beach and life guard. Check their posts and signage as water access was closed due to algae blooms and no swimming or boating allowed. Beautiful gentle hike with great views.

What a gift this place is. I parked by the boat racks. I appreciate the clear signage about where…read morenot to park. There are paper maps with trail descriptions at the kiosks. Wear good shoes that can take mud and water, and dress in warm layers. It was too cold (35F, end of April) for bugs, seemingly. I took the lake trail. If you don't mind some mud parkour, you'll love this trail. You have to get a little creative at times to find the way forward. Watch your footing whether you are using stepping stones, tree roots, or a boardwalk as these can all shift and become loose. If you have the time and energy, definitely check out the Lincoln pond loop. This is a research pond. My total hike distance with the Lincoln pond loop was just over 4 miles. Other than a nice gentleman who poked his head out from the research center to direct me, I only saw 3 other people on the trail. While the muddy trails can be challenging, the payoffs here can't be overstated: the lake, the research ponds, the waterfalls, the bridges, the overlooks. The trails are very well marked, clean, and clear, and private property is also very well marked, which I appreciate. Clear signage. I plan to come back and check out more trails and to donate to this magical place.

It was a great opportunity to expose my children to this type of architecture, and explore the stations of the cross, talk about relics, and see their natural wonder at every major work of art-including the MANY stained glass windows! Wow, this was a great adventure! We had a lot of fun and climbing was really challenging but so…read moreenjoyable. Booking online through their website was easy but it requires a lot of information. If you're booking for a group with a minor, they prefer to have the waiver printed and signed before arrival. However we were able to fill out another copy of the waiver on their tablets to start our group appointment. The two hour block was the perfect amount of time. By the end we were so exhausted we couldn't keep going. It has been over 10 years since we last climbed at a different gym so it was really great to get back into top roping. The staff gave us a quick tutorial to show us how the equipment works and discussed safety. It was a great refresher and extremely helpful. They offer equipment rentals, including harnesses, chalk, and shoes, also snacks and drinks are available. This was a lot of fun and we'll be back soon.

My girl…read morescout troop booked a two hour "party" with our earned cookie money and we were extremely satisfied. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and prioritizes everyone's safety. The facility is spacious, had nice clean bathrooms/changing rooms, a hand washing station, and cubbies. The climbing walls start off "beginner" and get progressively harder. There are various options for booking parties, monthly memberships, or attending open climb. You can rent equipment (shoes, harnesses), and buy chalk. There were kids climbing from five/six years of age all the way to grandparents. We will definitely be back in the future!
