Owed a refund that was never processed, poor communication, not equipped to care for neurodivergent teens, or teens with anxiety depression.

We were blessed with beautiful May weather which allowed us to partake in all of the whimsical delight Camp Horizons has to offer which includes: - Impromptu games of gaga ball - Watching fish jump out the crystal clear lake - Petting horses, goats, donkeys, bunnies, and more - Reading on the cabin porch - Letting loose in a flower and herb garden and creating living art - Flexing archery skills - Swinging from a tree - Skits and s'mores around a camp fire - Whispering from a bunk bed ... and so much more! As an adult, it was so wonderful to see kids being kids. The staff was wonderful, kind, and patient and my super picky daughter RAVED about the food. I even saw her try things she would not touch with a ten foot pole here. I guess that's camp magic for you!

He struggled at first with homesickness, but adjusted well with the support of his counselor. He came home talking about his new friends and the fun he had with the various activities. He enjoyed the food as well. There was some amount of roughing it (said the showers were cold and the cabins small) but it is a rustic camp, after all. As parents, we thought the camp was very well organized and they regularly posted pictures on the parent portal. My son is even open to the idea of going again. That may not sound as impressive as my saying that he's begging to go again, but it's a huge step forward considering that earlier this summer, he was threatening to barricade himself in his room to avoid going.

The people that I have met and the lessons that I have learned could never be replaced and I highly recommend this camp for any child that is looking for more then just a trip to the woods. Key Points: 1. The staff really cares about the campers and they do their best to provide a safe and welcoming environment. Of course you may have your not so great counselors but those are balance out with tons of good ones. 2. The food is off the hook and the salad bar along with the new AC units in the dinning hall have made the meals more tolerable on those very hot days. 3. The program is filled with creative activities that the campers really enjoy and each week it's something new. 4. The Pool! On those 100 degree days nothing beats it. Things to work on: 1. I wish that the camp could have more extreme adventure activities such as paintball, mt. biking and archery. I understand that liability is an issue but that would be a great addition to the program. 2. I wish the camp ran for 2 week sessions like it did when I was a camper. Five days is just not enough. All and all the kids seem to have a good time and for the cost... you can't beat it.

Sadly, we moved away before my daughter was a teen so she missed this wonderful opportunity. God bless the people who made it possible for me to go. Also the Staff is so sweet and nice , my youngest son has bad social anxiety and my sons cabin leader /Dean gave me her personal cell phone number so I can text and check up on how my son is doing during the week he is there for his 1st time! I thought that was very helpful and cool of her to do! Don't let the word Christian in the title of this place push you away ! All denominations are accepted ! Your kid/kids will have an AMAZING time here ! Guaranteed . I 100000% recommended this place!
