As far as the amenities , the pools nice, and the activities our girls enjoyed. If traveling in a camper it would've been an awesome experience. Our trip started by entering into a dirty cabin, our feet were black from walking on the floors, we found an empty bag of candy in the closet, and a hard piece of bread on the floor. All of the outdoor patio chairs were broken except one. I let them know of this the next morning since we didn't realize until late our first night. Unfortunately, the pool chair lift didn't work to assist our daughter with enjoying the pool. Again, I brought this to their attention and the Manager, Angie, was very understanding and it was fixed by day 4. Well on the last night we saw bed bugs! We gave them the opportunity to resolve the issue and they stated they would give me camp credit to only use at Luray. So I ask "why would I want to go back to a place that had bed bugs". (After a search, this isn't the first incident.) However, our daughter's nurse got bit prior to that. We didn't think they were bed bugs because we were outdoors but when they woke up at 3am the next night they were able to see them. We explained to the GM, Kevin, that we had a daughter who's medically fragile, and that her medical equipment cannot be heat treated or replaced quickly. Here are some of the comments from Kevin that were made to us throughout letting them know about this issue: The chance that your home gets infested is highly unlikely. We normally only see a max of 15 at a time. You would have to take a pregnant female home for it to infest your home. What will happen if your daughter gets bit? That's odd, we normally don't have bed bugs in that particular cabin. There is a chance that you brought them with you. They are like mosquitoes, they bite and get the blood and then go away. More than anything I'm frustrated because the GM, Kevin, has shown little to no sympathy regarding the situation and the fact that he had the nerve to say it could've been brought by me and thinks I would want to come back is insane. *Also, we reported first thing in the morning (8am) and Kevin's stated he would called Health Dept. However, we contacted them at 4pm and they had not been notified.

[944] 6/15/2019 This family friendly campground is well run with plenty of activities for the children. We were able to secure the site we wanted which overlooked the mountains. The only problem was that they failed to mention there was a HUGE electric pole right thru our seating area. It was pull thru and we were only there a few days so not that huge of a deal. Wish they would have mentioned it. They publish activity sheets for the week which include things such as candy bingo, pool parties, movies and a whole lot more. There are few playgrounds, volley ball area, community room, outdoor movie area, laser tag, miniature golf, arcade, many pools and a huge water slide. Many people rented golf carts but we were fine with our bikes. You are able to buy firewood and they bring it to your site. The staff was very friendly. This campsite is 5 miles from a huge (not busy) Walmart :) We will be back

We just came back from a wonderful time camping in Premium Loft Cottage C86. Everything was in working condition. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. Our cabin we very clean. Most things were closed as it is likely out of season, but the leaves were turning and we just wanted to unwind anyway. Our 9 year old loved the golf cart rental, pillow to jump on, zip line, free scavenger hunt from the front desk, and the campfire we built at the cabin. Massenhutten Storybook trail is a short drive away and definitely recommended for anyone looking for a scenic "hike" (10 minute walk) with beautiful overlook of the mountains. Bring a bath mat and baking sheet. We loved having a working oven, hot water for showers, screened in porch, heating that worked, and cable tv in the bedroom in our premium loft cottage cabin #86. We will definitely be back!

Between these 4 trees is camp site 80.

We camp tent on site 80. It was next to the showers/bathroom area. The area is gravel, the notes on the checkin stated that so we were prepared. The showers were well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful when I had questions. Children loved it. The activities are nice. It's nice that there is a Walmart near the park so just in case you forgot or ran out of something can just run out to get it.

My wife and I started coming to Yogi's in Luray in 1994 with our 2 kids. Now we're bringing our kids and our grandkids. We enjoy the fun days in the water park, and spending time at all the fun activities around the park, especially candy bar bingo (our absolute family favorite), and having family competitions at mini golf. Every single time we've come here it's always been a blast. We're continuing the tradition, and coming here for vacation will always promise something to look forward to every year. We really can't wait for our family trip this year, and the introduction of our newest 1yr old granddaughter to the tradition. We're making memories to last our family forever! -JB

They had a common living room for the guests to relax in which had books and board games. There was also an area for 24/7 water, coffee, and tea, and in the afternoon, a baked treat was available. We saw chocolate chip cookies and apple cider donuts. Bonus: There was a mini fridge with seltzer water. Second, we booked the Naturalist for the weekend and it was a wonderful room. The sheets were so soft and comforting. The bathroom was a bit small but had modern fixtures. I don't know what the shower head was, but it was super nice LOL. I could've stood in there forever. Their shampoo, conditioner, and body wash smelled lovely as well. They provide a little lotion tube. So, I'd recommend bringing your own. Third, the breakfast was amazing. Shannon and Joe did a wonderful job making the dining experience wonderful. I really loved Shannon's french toast. Joe was also very attentive to the guests. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience. I would love to visit again someday. The location is also quite convenient. You are walking distance away from many cafes, stores, and restaurants. It was definitely a wonderful weekend to recharge. Highly recommend and grateful that we could spend our anniversary here

Unfortunately, because of our choice of year, we ran into a few problems, all of which were addressed promptly and satisfactorily by the owners of Brookside. And, because of that, we are in position to review several of the cabins! We booked Cabin 9 and battled through crazy DC drivers who freak out over a literal two inches of snow (aside: seriously DC-area, get it together!) Diane in the gift stop called us that morning to warn us of the impending snow and to let us know that if we ended up arriving late, they would leave the key for us under the doormat. Amazing foresight and we really appreciated her call. When we walked into our cabin, the bathroom sink was overflowing and not draining. Turns out the cold winds had frozen the drainage pipes and Cabin 9, being at the end, got the brunt of it. Cece and Bob, the owners, came down immediately and gave us our choice of cabins. We chose number 2, which is a cozy space with a hot tub, angled bed and intimate fireplace area. The second morning, when we were moved back into 9, the water went out over the entire resort just after our morning shower, but by the time we returned to the cabin in the evening, it was fixed. Overall, I liked Cabin 9 best, with its open layout, its great view from the Jacuzzi tub and its numerous skylights. Cabin 2 was cozy and romantic and I liked the layout of the sofa area around the fireplace and the hot tub was pleasant. Both are ideal for a couple, though Cabin 9 has a pull-out sofa and is large enough to not feel too crowded with kids. We also had a peek into Cabins 7 & 8. Number 8 has a full kitchen and two bedrooms and would be great for a family or even the main house for a family reunion. Cece said it is popular for Thanksgiving gatherings. Cabin 7 is a jacuzzi cabin that was intended to be a two-bedroom but instead has a "tub room." If you like privacy for your Jacuzzi it makes sense, however we did not like that each room was separate. The greatest part about the winter? Beautiful snow-covered trees and a partially frozen brook that still babbles underneath it AND the amazing Christmas decorations in each cabin. The usual decor is a bit old-fashioned and flowery, but the Christmas decorations are really fabulous and fun. The restaurant was closed from Thanksgiving until the second week of January. Also, the cabins are really close to 211, which could get noisy in the summer, maybe? But we did not hear much traffic from our cabin, which was next to the roadway. Plus, you can't get any closer to the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park. We hope to return this spring!

Our room was not like the photos (definitely not fully remodeled) or luxurious. The bathroom had new fixtures and vanity but the tub was still old and kind of grimy. The window screen in the bathroom was ancient and hard to open and there were some sort of seeds or insect eggs all over the windowsill there. There were also dead flies in the front window, which could have used a wipe down. We had a 2 queen room and one bad was extremely hard and one was very soft. There were only 3 pillows on each bed so someone only had 1 pillow - not ideal with kids. Two of the towels in the bathroom were nice and 2 were pretty raggedy and thin. The size of the room was fine (only room for 1 small table, no chairs) but there was no additional deadbolt or slide latch on the door and that didn't feel safe, especially after someone tried to put a code into our door at about 11:00 one night. This motel is somewhat cute, cozy and quiet but still seems a bit run down. However, after driving around Luray, I'd venture to say it's the nicest of the roadside motels we saw. It has beautiful views of the Shenandoah's and it's very convenient to town and the park. It wasn't awful but wasn't what we expected. The manager Judy was very nice when she called to confirm our reservation and when I let her know the room smelled smoky. Be aware that not all rooms look like the photo on the website.
