We loved coming here when our children were young, but in the past few trips, we have been spoiled by state parks and not just with price, but amenities/hookups offered and level sites as well. We were very surprised that so many of the sites are not level and the one we had been assigned had our new camper when we were trying to attempt to get it level started moving down the hill. (note-stay out of any site with 80 in it) Not something you want to happen to 35k of your hard earned cash! We did change sites, which came with a cost. The sites though are CRAZY in price! We get a senior discount with many places we go.....this is not one of them. We selected another site that looked fairly level, but if we ever have to do this again, we will be thinking about if the playground is nearby. While we love kids and have 3 of our own and two grandkids, when the pool closes, the play area is LOUD! Won't make that mistake again. This AM, we took the camp map out and circled acceptable sites for the next trip. The only problem with this is you are charged if you want to make sure you get the site you pick. I really take issue with that. It should not cost you a thing....this is souring me altogether from commercial parks. Pluses....they have great pools, nice inside areas and so forth. Cabanas and golf cart rentals are nice, but a tad high. I feel sites are tight for the $$$$'s. There are some cool places to go in the area to include Luray Caverns, wineries and distilleries. Deluxe tent sites are nice and there are activities. Minuses....I wish that they would build roofs over the picnic tables in all their sites, not just the tent areas. Prices, well I can stay in a hotel for $135 a night.....don't add in the nickle and dime stuff. Many of the sites are just not great....we talked to a gentleman with a diesel pusher and he said he was unhappy as well. At the price, you really do expect a little better. Make sure to join Yogi rewards before coming. At least you can add and get a free night here or there if you stay at other Yogis. It's nice, but very pricey. Unless we have our grandsons, I don't see us staying again. read more

Nice clean campground. Lots for the whole family to do. From fishing, paddle boats to swimming with 3 pools. Two big water slides. Arcade, basketball courts. I haven't covered it all but you get the picture. Relaxing by our campsite fire in the evenings after a long filled day at the resort was so nice and peaceful. Loved this place! read more

As far as the amenities , the pools nice, and the activities our girls enjoyed. If traveling in a camper it would've been an awesome experience. Our trip started by entering into a dirty cabin, our feet were black from walking on the floors, we found an empty bag of candy in the closet, and a hard piece of bread on the floor. All of the outdoor patio chairs were broken except one. I let them know of this the next morning since we didn't realize until late our first night. Unfortunately, the pool chair lift didn't work to assist our daughter with enjoying the pool. Again, I brought this to their attention and the Manager, Angie, was very understanding and it was fixed by day 4. Well on the last night we saw bed bugs! We gave them the opportunity to resolve the issue and they stated they would give me camp credit to only use at Luray. So I ask "why would I want to go back to a place that had bed bugs". (After a search, this isn't the first incident.) However, our daughter's nurse got bit prior to that. We didn't think they were bed bugs because we were outdoors but when they woke up at 3am the next night they were able to see them. We explained to the GM, Kevin, that we had a daughter who's medically fragile, and that her medical equipment cannot be heat treated or replaced quickly. Here are some of the comments from Kevin that were made to us throughout letting them know about this issue: The chance that your home gets infested is highly unlikely. We normally only see a max of 15 at a time. You would have to take a pregnant female home for it to infest your home. What will happen if your daughter gets bit? That's odd, we normally don't have bed bugs in that particular cabin. There is a chance that you brought them with you. They are like mosquitoes, they bite and get the blood and then go away. More than anything I'm frustrated because the GM, Kevin, has shown little to no sympathy regarding the situation and the fact that he had the nerve to say it could've been brought by me and thinks I would want to come back is insane. *Also, we reported first thing in the morning (8am) and Kevin's stated he would called Health Dept. However, we contacted them at 4pm and they had not been notified. read more

Lots to do: swimming, water slides, laser tag, miniature golf, fishing, etc. Recommend bringing bikes if you can, camp is not that big so getting around by bike was awesome. Plenty of other other stuff to do in the area and some good restaurants in Luray. We are booked already for next year. Kids had a blast. read more

[944] 6/15/2019 This family friendly campground is well run with plenty of activities for the children. We were able to secure the site we wanted which overlooked the mountains. The only problem was that they failed to mention there was a HUGE electric pole right thru our seating area. It was pull thru and we were only there a few days so not that huge of a deal. Wish they would have mentioned it. They publish activity sheets for the week which include things such as candy bingo, pool parties, movies and a whole lot more. There are few playgrounds, volley ball area, community room, outdoor movie area, laser tag, miniature golf, arcade, many pools and a huge water slide. Many people rented golf carts but we were fine with our bikes. You are able to buy firewood and they bring it to your site. The staff was very friendly. This campsite is 5 miles from a huge (not busy) Walmart :) We will be back read more

This was our 2nd stay at this particular Jellystone (our 4th stay at Jellystones writ large). From last year to this year, this facility has clearly fallen off, while the prices have gone up. We upgraded our cabin this year to allow for more space for our family of 3 + 2 grandparents, only to be put in an ADA cabin that lacked the additional sleeping area we had paid for in the first place. as compensation for bunking with our 8 year old in 2 twin beds in a loft, we were given a free bag of firewood. Our kid has been talking about laser tag for MONTHS and so imagine the disappointment when the sets they hand out are so horribly off sighted that you have to be within 2 feet of someone to actually "shoot" them. At one point everyone in our group was out of ammunition because none of us could shoot anything (having played laser tag elsewhere this was not a "user" issue). We decided on an early round of putt putt and when we arrived, the stand was unstaffed, there was a total of 2 golf balls and 3 clubs, all child sized (no one else was on the course). After a hike to the front desk only to be told it's "self serve", I had to inform them that in order for that to work, they need to actually put out the equipment. When we did play there were TONS of bugs and hornets, and the grounds are poorly kept. Unless you are there right when the pool opens, good luck getting a chair. People put their towels down and disappear for hours, but I wouldn't risk moving a towel given the general gruffness of some of the other campers. Also the slides get really backed up because there are a LOT of under 42" kids who aren't supposed to use them for logical safety reasons going down and it just takes them longer to climb the stairs. On the one movie night (a favorite of ours in years past) the sound wouldn't work so we had to bail on that as well. Given it's one of the few "complimentary" activities remaining it was a huge bummer and yet another reason it just didn't feel like our nearly $400/night stay was even close to where it should be. Finally, in addition to our downgraded cabin, it was supposed to have the items we needed (plates, tableware, general cooking items). We had one 8 inch skillet, one pot and 3 forks, one spoon and a full set of butter knives. So in addition to the price we'd paid for the luxury cabin, I had to make a trip to Walmart just to get us through the 3 days. (adding even more $$ to our trip) The positive was the staff we did talk to were incredibly pleasant and helpful. They seem to be understaffed, so I was grateful for those that showed up. Sadly we'll be looking for an alternative as if this trend continues I can't imagine what would be next year. Unless you have your own RV and lowered expectations, I'm not sure I'd put this one on your list. read more

Fourth of July, understandably crowded. We were prepared for this. We usually camp on the holidays, and we were excited for fireworks and families and fun things to do! We were NOT prepared for: 1. 13 hours of NO WATER on 07/04/2024. Temperatures over 100 degrees. No explanation from management, no estimate on when it would be corrected, no mItigation efforts, no refund. 2. Receiving only a QR code to find out scheduling of planned events. BUT no WiFi to open the code. 3. NO enforcement of wristband policies. So, the already crowded pool/ water park facilities were over-run with people who were not wearing wristbands/not authorized to be there. 4. NO enforcement of the no political campaign flags policies. There were political flags everywhere. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALL. read more

We just came back from a wonderful time camping in Premium Loft Cottage C86. Everything was in working condition. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. Our cabin we very clean. Most things were closed as it is likely out of season, but the leaves were turning and we just wanted to unwind anyway. Our 9 year old loved the golf cart rental, pillow to jump on, zip line, free scavenger hunt from the front desk, and the campfire we built at the cabin. Massenhutten Storybook trail is a short drive away and definitely recommended for anyone looking for a scenic "hike" (10 minute walk) with beautiful overlook of the mountains. Bring a bath mat and baking sheet. We loved having a working oven, hot water for showers, screened in porch, heating that worked, and cable tv in the bedroom in our premium loft cottage cabin #86. We absolutely love going to Yogi Bear parks! Luray park offers a wide variety of activities and things for children/ families to do while staying there. We like the cleanliness of the park. The park is located very close to a lot of things like the Luray zoo, Luray caverns and shenandoah national forest. read more

We camp tent on site 80. It was next to the showers/bathroom area. The area is gravel, the notes on the checkin stated that so we were prepared. The showers were well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful when I had questions. Children loved it. The activities are nice. It's nice that there is a Walmart near the park so just in case you forgot or ran out of something can just run out to get it. read more

My wife and I started coming to Yogi's in Luray in 1994 with our 2 kids. Now we're bringing our kids and our grandkids. We enjoy the fun days in the water park, and spending time at all the fun activities around the park, especially candy bar bingo (our absolute family favorite), and having family competitions at mini golf. Every single time we've come here it's always been a blast. We're continuing the tradition, and coming here for vacation will always promise something to look forward to every year. We really can't wait for our family trip this year, and the introduction of our newest 1yr old granddaughter to the tradition. We're making memories to last our family forever! -JB read more

Stuff was stolen from our site, and people smoked marijuana at a kids event. We went on one of the Halloween weekends and stayed in a cabin. Accommodations were typical for a camping cabin, though pricey. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. My husband and kids went to the haunted trail, and while standing in line, two parents broke off and just 10ft away were openly smoking marijuana right by the kids and parents. This event was for children 8+ it said. This was definitely not the first time we smelled it. All of these events are for children, and this is a family-oriented campground, btw. I don't care what you do at your home, but the public and children especially do not need to be subjected to that unwantedly. The next day, a lot of campers were leaving, but we had one more night booked and went to the Caverns. When we got back, every single item that was not inside the cabin was stolen, including our plugged in Halloween inflatable!! Luckily we put the kids' bikes inside. I might go back, but definitely be aware of the people around you, you cannot trust your stuff here. Generally people were nice, and staff were great, but obviously an element of sus here. read more

Great family trip. So much to do, kids were in heaven 9/7 year olds. grandma and grand-pop in boo boo cabin right next door to tent with their aunties 24 and 35 - we had blast also. Seeing kids so excited was worth price. Nice clean cabin and park. Water slides, Mini zip line, bounce pads, golf, paddle boats, Ga ga ball. Camp fire. Very nice. Been there pre Covid - tent sites cabins squeezed in everywhere. Bring your own fishing pole none to rent. Didn't like how you pick a site and then to make sure you get the site you picked you have an extra charge. If you go - field trip to Luray caverns 5 min away. (bring your giant card for discount. ) Some discounts only in pre book- like aaa. Also if you want the best Crab Cake stop at Front Royal TALK OF THE MOUNTAIN. I was there in August. everything was closed due to being off season. It was in the tiny fine print on the website. This was before labor day... so heads up. We drove 5 hours to go to the "better" yogi bear, and almost everything was closed. the snacks stand, laser tag, slides, the boats in the pond. it was ridiculous. many other guests that were there at the same time were just as upset. read more

From the site it looked beautiful. We reserved a nice cabin (at least from photos and price) with a loft. When we arrived, the staff was friendly and directed us in the direction of our cabin. The cabin was very old and overpriced for what we got. The cabin was also filthy and the floor was covered with dirt. I could tell it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I'm top of all the dirt and the very overpriced cabin, You have to pay for sheets per bed not per cabin. It's a daily extra fee. We misunderstood that so we only had ordered one set prior. I ordered an extra set once we got there which I was told should've been done before, but how would we have known? The lady was incredibly rude and acted like we were completely inconveniencing her. We didn't realize the set they brought didn't fit the bed until that evening so we called the after hours number to try to get it corrected. They also didn't bring pillows either so we asked for those as well. Someone answered and said they were coming in 15 min, but sadly after waiting an hour and calling back several times, no one came. On top of that, there was no hot water and most of the lights were busted along with the blinds. I went to tell them the mistake and the wrong sheets with no pillows and I was told I was wrong and housekeeping said there were sheets on the bed. I had to explain their mistake and again the same women acted like I was bothering her for her mistake. Someone finally came for the busted lights and water heater and fixed a few lights. I was told they had to run to Walmart to get bulbs. For such a busy weekend, shouldn't the cabins be ready? Thankfully we barely stayed at the cabin but the last night was freezing. I tried to turn on the heater and it didn't work. We have young kids and it wouldn't get above 62 with a draft. I told the same lady and she said, "did you call anyone and report it?" I said no because no one answers after hours. Through it all, no hot water in the shower. All in all, save your money and go to an air bnb or anything else. Definitely lousy people and cabins. Maybe an RV would be better? read more

So if you come with low expectations you will have a great time! The park is really cute and definitely has a great family camp vibe. It's perfect for large family reunions because everyone can get their own private cabin or share a large three bedroom Three Bears Cabin. They have three pools, a few playgrounds, bounce area, basketball court and zip line area. So we stayed in mid June where peak season didn't technically start so maybe some of the issues will be fixed at some point: the baby splash pad was broken and closed, one zip line of two is broken, the paddle boats were broken. Our house didn't have a working jacuzzi, dryer, had super dirty air filters and other minor things that just seemed neglected. Again we had a great time because we were all together with family but it was strange how run down certain things were. So as long as you are low maintenance you'll have fun! read more

Never in my many years of staying at Jellystone resorts have I been moved. This location moved all four families so we're not near each other for the four nights we are there. The lock fee is an embarrassing money grab for them and they should just charge $25 more than advertise this. When I select something that's available and pay this much money you think I would get the cabin that I picked. Shame on this location and shame on me for not looking at these reviews before booking. I will never spend a penny in Jellystone ever again. Before you say it, no one, not one person wants to be moved after picking the cabin they specifically want. Makes no sense and make all of us upset to see such a petty way for Jellystone to take more money. read more

This camp ground is so much fun during the Halloween weekends! Everyone dresses up for trick or treating. A lot of people also decorate their campsites for a decorating contest. There is so much for the kids to go do on a daily basis. We also love having a campfire each night and relaxing in the evenings. Most campsites also have a beautiful mountain view. We have been coming every year for the last 4 years. We stay in the Premium loft cottages. They have a small bedroom for 2 adults and then all the kids can sleep up in the loft together. There is also a set of bunk beds - but we end up using those as a storage spot most times. These cabins also have a full bathroom and kitchen. We like to cook most of our meals and the full kitchen is so convenient. But my absolute favorite spot in the screened in porch. read more

While the park appears to be nice and inviting we found our stay to be riddled with a money trap..... you get slugged left and right with paying more money for everything.... Lets start with the carts.... Instead of allowing you to add flair to the park with ur own cart they nix that and then rob you..... carts can cost you upwards of 72 a day with a two day minimum..... too many other camp grounds near in the Valley to come back and get mugged ........ the yogi bear in Natural Bridge is a much more family oriented and fun place..... read more

We have been visiting this park for more than 10 years. The last three years it has declined drastically especially the customer service. The women at the front desk are completely joyless and hateful. Our last 3 visits we never saw a smile. This most recent visit - Sunday 8/28 - we booked a cabin and informed them on check in we were there for my son's birthday and would be leaving the park at 6:30. The park was not crowded at all yet they informed us we had to pay $25 to come into the park before check in. Then I asked if we could get our golf cart earlier and she said absolutely not. Hard and fast rule. Even though there were about 40 carts cleaned, charged and ready to go. Thankfully the ranger said no problem when we explained our situation and gave it to us a little early - since we weren't even there 8 hours total and paid for 24. Then they inform us it's "off season" (on a Hot Sunday in August) and the water slides would be closing at 2pm!!! There was NO: laser tag, pedal boats, and the cafe was closed down. When we complained we were rudely informed repeatedly "sorry, it's off season". Even those those amenities are listed on the website as available on weekends during no -peak. It's not even Labor Day. We paid for amenities but they didn't want to staff them. The cabin was filthy. Old fly strip hanging on the porch. Trash left from the previous tenants. Trash all around the pool, chairs worn to the point of having holes. The water was cloudy and full of bugs. The bathroom was dirty and missing soap dispensers. This will be our last stay in a place we always loved. The lack of upkeep, rising prices and complete lack of friendly customer oriented service means we will take our money elsewhere. read more

Our stay at the Park was mixed. The staff was incredibly helpful to us. We were in a bind and they really came through for us. That being said, we rented the Skyline cabin. It was clean enough but the beds were horrible. I understand it's camping but that bed was like cement. My main concern was that when we were unpacking our car we had something "taken" out of the back of it. It made the stay feel strange in some way. Glad we tried it but won't be back. read more

Our family enjoyed our week long stay. Absolutely loved our site, water slides, pools and all the fun activities!

We had tried to book a weekend to take my stepson camping for the first time, but the weekends were booked up, and since he is homeschooled, we decided to take a few days off of work and take him during the week. I was easily able to reserve and pre-pay for the cabin. We chose the Skyline cabins for their roominess and more privacy (he is 13, and autistic, so he likes his alone time occasionally.) Upon arrival, the young lady at the desk efficiently confirmed my reservation and directed me to the ranger station for assistance getting to our cabin. The main point of the trip was to hit Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive, so the fact that many of the campground activities were not available during the week, was of no concern. We found that the cabin was relatively isolated in the rear of the property, and at a slightly higher elevation. This was perfect for us, because we like to play music slightly loud, and no matter what the temperature, we like a fire. The cabin was cozy and had all we needed in the way of amenities, like a microwave and a coffee maker. There were a few minor inconveniences which I will list at the end. The beds were what I expected, not luxury level, but not like sleeping on a log. We literally had no distractions, and only saw a few people walking dogs, and one golf cart go by. I think there may have been less than 20 families staying there, and most of them were in the RV sites. Access to the local area is easy, as U.S. 211 will run you right to the WalMart and Food Lion in Luray, and the Caverns are about a five minute drive. We were slated to stay until Wednesday, but had an emergency at home and had to depart late Tuesday night. There was a convenient key drop at the Ranger Station. One of the coolest things about the location, is the quiet. Also, there are a few freight trains that run through the Town of Luray at various times during the day, and the sound is really relaxing hearing the horn, and the rumble of the train on the tracks. The Town is kind of cool, but surprisingly, some of the highest rated eateries are closed on Tuesdays. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again, and we are considering a trip next fall with the entire family, including the grandkids. Some of the minor issues we had are: 1. An accessible dumpster would be great. When we had to leave at night, we ended up taking our garbage with us. The instructions were to leave it at the edge of the site, but we were afraid of the critters getting into it and making a mess. 2. The water pressure in the shower is HORRID. Also, the hot water was spotty, and we had to unplug and plug-in the water heater several times. My wife had to leave the bathroom sink running during her shower to keep hot water, because the shower pressure was so low, the unit would not stay running. 3. There aren't enough outlets for the appliances. We had to move the coffee maker to the table to use it. 4. At the head of the full bed, there are wooden notches that stick out from the wall. Someone should insert some shelving there, so we have a place to sit our phones or keys etc. An outlet would be great there. I know that people camp to get away from the devices, but let's face it, our cell phones and other devices are how we live now. I use mine as my alarm clock. 5. The twin bunks are kind of cramped. My stepson, at 13, is almost 6 feet tall, and had a hard time getting comfortable. 6. There were no tools for the grille. We got a set at Walmart and left the spatula there for the next guest. 7. The mattresses need an upgrade. Like I said, they weren't the worst, and they beat sleeping in a tent, but they could be a bit more firm. 8. Someone should be on-site all night, in case of an issue or emergency. I understand it's off season, but people are there and using fire. 9. The arcade should be open at least until late in the evening, during the week. It rained the first night, and it would have been nice to head down and play some games. All in all, it was a great trip, and a really nice property, and I'm definitely not trying to list complaints like a nosy neighbor, because we truly enjoyed our stay! read more

We stayed in an RV at this location from July 11-16, 2021. We had a party of 17 parents and kids. It was a horrible experience and I would not recommend staying at this park. For one, there is NO recycling available, which is shocking and unacceptable. Second, on two occasions that I tried taking a shower in the men's bathroom (around 11:00 PM), I encountered a group of teens who clearly appeared to have been doing drugs inside the bathroom. read more

BE WARNED: RACISM ABOUND! My family and two other families stayed at this campground last week. It is important to note that all families were Black families, with myself being the only white individual. We were comforted to know, in the current election climate, that there was a policy set in place not to fly any political flags on the campground. Unfortunately, that is where the comfort ended. During the daytime, a couple of teenagers were riding their bikes around rapping loudly and spewing profanity all through the camp. Come night time, they took it upon themselves to ride by our cabins and yell "n*gger" out at one of my friends as she simply sat on her porch. This was our second day at the camp, and already, it was going belly-up. Because it was past office hours, we waiting until the morning to talk to staff about it. In the meantime, I confronted the teenagers later that night on the basketball courts, where they were loudly throwing the n-word around. They were all apologies after claiming they had no clue what I was talking about, and then apologizing for their language. We did not sleep well that night. When we brought this up to the office staff the next morning, they already knew who we were talking about, because these two boys were causing trouble before this incident. The staff was very apologetic and said they'd find their families and they'd be asked to leave the camp. The rangers were set out to find the boys and their families. I ended up doing the job for the rangers, as they let the boys ride past them a couple of times, which means I had to chase down bikes while holding an infant to make sure they weren't going to run off. The ranger talked to their families and returned to ours saying the family would apologize. We declined the apology and demanded they be removed from the camp for throwing around racial slurs and making us feel unsafe and unwelcomed. The ranger, who was proudly sporting a "Blue Lives Matter" bracelet, wasn't taking us seriously at all. He tried to tell us the family were "trustworthy" people and that they said they'd "wring their (the kids') asses out" and there wasn't going to be an issue. I explained to the parkranger that they seemed trustworthy to him because he is white, and that racist behavior is learned somewhere, and we aren't going to take their parents' word for it. They should be removed. I demanded to talk to the GM, to have HER come to US, and an hour or so later, we got a message from the front office staff saying to come talk to them. The GM tasked THE ONLY BLACK STAFF MEMBER with telling us that they have to give the family a warning first before removing them. Now, that's not what their literature says online, nor is it stated that families would get a warning for flying political flags. It says they would be asked to leave. I pointed out that they are setting a precedent that people get to throw around racial slurs at least one time before they are to be removed, and that all it takes is one racial slur to destroy the other family's vacation. They weren't budging on their "they get one warning" stance. They said they'd have rangers patrolling our cabins all day and night (until 1am) and that the family is not allowed near our cabins. We did not see rangers patrolling our cabins, and later that night, a lifted pick-up truck with Trump 2020 flags drove up and down our street, honking its horn and screaming, then drove all around the camp doing the same thing for at least five minutes. Also, other campers had Trump flags and "Don't Tread On Me" flags proudly displayed for all to see, and they weren't asked to remove them. The other two families in our party left early. They were too upset and afraid to stay in such a hostile environment. Due to not wanting to drive at night, we decided to leave the next day. The other two families were offered a refund for one extra day, and we weren't offered anything at all, despite the fact that my Black family suffered as well. Jellystone Luray, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You should be ashamed that you couldn't protect your Black customers, and instead chose to defend your white customers instead. Had these roles been reversed and the Black family said anything out of place, we wouldn't have been given a second chance. Period. The GM should be ashamed of herself, too. When such heavy issues are brought forward, and THREE FAMILIES have suffered because of it, you should have made it YOUR FIRST PRIORITY to come to the families and victims and RESOLVE THE ISSUE. You did not. Instead, you used your one Black employee as damage control, a buffer between us and you, to handle it instead. Shame on you. We do not recommend this campground for any families of color. It is NOT family friendly if your skin is brown. We had a wonderful time at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Luray. The kids loved the pool and the slides. Great outdoor recreation facilities. My only knock is that the wi-fi was poor, but we would still stay there again. read more

People are thief's and liars. Do not recommend and plan to never return due to poor costumer service and being falsely charged. We stayed in a skyline cabin for our son's birthday. Upon arrival our cabin had cigarette butts in the grill and trash in the fire pit- plastic trash that should not be burned....we don't make a huge deal just clean it and moved on with our lives because it wasn't worth complaining about since we came there to celebrate a birthday and enjoy family together. The resort is a more expensive resort but they do have alot of stuff for the kiddos so that's really what you're paying for. A week after check I was charged a cabin damage fee. I was shocked to see that charge as I know we did not damage ANYTHING! I called two times before I got to speak to a manager on what was damaged- he told me the blinds and I requested a picture- 1.5 weeks went by I never got a picture and was also told he look more into the situation as I truly felt nothing was damaged by us. I called back to follow up 1 week after the initial follow up and was blown off by the front desk. I call back again a few days later got through to Aaron Addison , the manager there- during this phone call he told me he talked to the cleaning staff and the charge could not be reversed and that he would send me the picture of the damage. I got the picture and we were charged 100$ for a piece of broken plastic on top of the blind that I know we didn't do- no way was the cleaning staff thorough initially since we had cigarette butts in the grill and trash in the fire pit when we showed up so to claim we broke a piece of plastic is insane! It was ridiculous and something we should not have been charged for- they will take any advantage of you so beware!! Overall my kids had fun but we will not return or recommend to anyone!! Also unless youre refunding me my 100$ please try to reframe from commenting with your generic apology and lying about how thorough you are. read more

We just spent a week here (Sunday-Friday) and had the BEST time!! My kids absolutely loved hanging out at the park, there was always something for them to do - jumping pillows, zipline & gaga ball were some of their favorites. They met many new friends and always had someone to play with! We also fished in the catch and release pond, I believe we caught a total of 6 fish (they sell live nightcrawlers in the shop for bait)! We did the gem mining, which was really cool for the kids (you buy the bags of sand with the gems or shark teeth in the shop). Mini-golf was lots of fun too, very well-kept! The pools and water slides were not open yet since it is too early in the season for it, but they look like they would be lots of fun! Maybe we will come back for a few days in the summer to check them out! We had a total of 8 people in the Premium Loft Cabin (6 adults and 2 kids) it was a very tight fit, but we spent most of the time out of the cabin so it worked out great. The loft is VERY low clearance, expect to crawl on your hands and knees to get around. Since there were so many of us in the cabin with only 1 bathroom, we utilized the bathhouse as well for bathing and I must say, they are the cleanest and nicest showers/toilets I have ever come across in a campground bathhouse! All around, very comfortable stay and I would do it again. Maybe more cabins for the adults so that everyone can sleep more comfortably though. There is nothing I have to complain about - the staff were all friendly and the campground is kept nice! We will definitely be going to more Jellystone Park campgrounds - highly recommend!! *Sidenote* If you take the trip here, I also recommend checking out the Luray Caverns (absolutely stunning!) and the Shenandoah National Park (breathtaking views!). Beware if you bring your own golf cart, you must have a DMV issued handicap placard. We towed our golf cart over 3,000 miles to stay here, only to be told that we couldn't use it. We're not handicap, so why would we have a handicap placard? We made our reservation MONTHS in advance and even asked if personal golf carts were allowed, would have been great if staff conveyed that information up front to guests. Additionally, Front desk staff could benefit from some customer service courses. Both were bitter, short, and no service excellence experience whatsoever. Wouldn't recommend this place, we won't be back. read more

We came up for the Halloween weekends and while we had fun, this visit was disappointing for us. First of all, they had handed us an list of events for this weekend, including the jumping pillow (which is one of the reasons why my kids love coming here). The pillow was almost completely dug up and was obviously down for quite some time, but was still listed on the sheet they handed us. Most of the events were marked as extra money except the pumpkin painting. When we arrived, we had thought that maybe kids would be painting mini pumpkins like they did for Easter a couple of years ago. Nope, you need to provide your own pumpkin, even though that info was not included. The golf carts.....oh my...the golf carts. There was one cart full of morons that were driving a bunch of teenage boys around in circles over and over and over while they chanted some thing similar to Bloody Mary, over and over for HOURS, throughout the entire park. The same cart full of fun decided that they would go off roading through campsites and cut past me in my hammock (2 feet from my head) and drove through the campsite right next to us. Oh and it was an adult driving, so that was just sad. We had no idea that there was trick or treating and were woefully under-prepared. The costume contest just sort of skipped giving awards for a couple of the categories for the 5-7 group. There were enough kids, but they just skipped giving out awards. My 7 year old wasn't counting on winning, but definitely noticed that they didn't give out awards for her age group. The water pressure in the bathroom was also really bad this time in the showers and there seemed to be a heck of a lot more problems then the last time we stayed here. My kids had a good time despite, but I don't know if we will be back. Also, Verizon doesn't work out there just as a heads up. read more

Came back for another round of family fun during the Wake Up Yogi Weekend, which is a steal because it's a BOGO for the weekend. Great news, they are doing updates and it's nice to see. For starters, they have brand new golf carts and plenty of them. They're all electric which helps cut down on the noise, however you do need to pay attention to the battery to make sure you have charge. Plug it up overnight to avoid any issues during the day. They have added and are still finalizing a beautiful outdoor movie theater. I can see many nights watching classics in front of that thing in the future. They've also added a new playground near the rec center which is nice and up to date. Lastly, they now have WiFi. I'm happy to see all the renovations being done and the staff continues to please as always. They set the bar high for customer service. If I had to have complaints it would be that the putt course needs to cleared from leaves and pine needles. On one of the holes our balls got stuck int eh pipe and we could not retrieve them. We had to walk back to the other side of the course to get new ones. Kind of frustrating, but whatever. Also, the WiFi is good but can be sketchy at times. I don't let it bother me as I'm not there to deal with electronics. Other than those minor things, it was another great experience and I can't wait to go back! read more

We stayed in a Deluxe Cabin at Jellystone Luray right before the close of the season last year. We had a great experience. The cabin was great for the cooler weather. The kids had plenty to do even in the "off season." They loved the zipline. There were very few people staying there that weekend. Luray Caverns being so close was a bonus. read more

Cabin 81 was $300/night. The mattress pad on the top bunks felt like bricks. It was literally the most miserable sleep of my life and likely compares to prison beds. Note: bring mattress pads! The cabin reeked of wet dog smell. It was overwhelming. The bathroom smelled like an outhouse. The floors were covered in black filth, perhaps mold? The smoke detector was missing. Our friends had 2 other cabins which didn't have the dog or septic smells, but had broken stove burners and short lists of missing or broken items. The fire pit wasn't cleaned out at all. Very disappointing for the price. The pool was super gross, too. There was green algae (?) along the rim of the pool and black mold inside the pool walls and stairs. There are LOTS of fun activities for children under 13 so perhaps some families would overlook some of these issues, but this entire property seems pretty unsanitary and, in some cases, completely neglected. This is especially surprising due to the COVID pandemic when most places are placing extra emphasis on cleanliness and increasing sanitization standards. I realize this is a cabin and not the Ritz, but I've stayed at several other campgrounds and all were better maintained. read more

Unfortunately, not all parks or park staff are created equal. After multiple attempts and calls to the Lurray park to find out availability and day passes with no answer and no call back, we made the couple hour trip to the Parke after checking out the website which states "Saturday passes are available" to be turned away and told we would never have Saturday Day passes available during peek season. We had a car full of 6 kids, we could have simply driven to the Jelly STone Park in Natural Bridge where we have had wonderful customer service and spent the same amount of time in the vehicle driving in the opposite direction. I was very disappointed in the lack of understanding, the total lack in customer service or willingness to even try to make this a positive experience. As a large family looking for a permanent camp resort for several RV's for the years to come, I can say they just lost a lot of potential business that would have expanded over the next 10+ years. They did not express a family friendly environment. read more
