However, I had an extremely frustrating experience at Cabela's due to one of the salesmen, Chad. My friend is a legal Idaho resident with an Idaho driver's license and meets all residency requirements to purchase a handgun in Idaho. Despite this, Chad refused to proceed with the sale because my friend is temporarily living out of state for school, which is not disqualifying under federal law. What made this worse was Chad's attitude. He was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to listen, and when we asked to speak with a manager to clarify the situation, he flat-out refused to get one. No explanation, no attempt to verify policy, just a hard no and an unprofessional tone. If this is a corporate policy issue, that's fine but customers deserve accurate information and respectful service, not misinformation and stonewalling. Refusing to escalate to a manager when requested is unacceptable. I expected better from a company of this size. I'll be taking my business to a local gun shop that actually understands the law and treats customers with respect.
