Updating. I've had excellent service from customer service but the managers and some cashiers haven't been as helpful. This was previously a 5 star review from my experiences with customer service. I run a nonprofit horse rescue and get coupons from Purina for horse feed. I have frequent problems with them, but today was the worst. I was running behind and despite my clear communication that I was giving her 3 coupons (said 3 times), she only rung up one. We had already swiped the card, so she had to process a refund. I expressed I was running short on time and she said it would be quick. She then processed an EXCHANGE and called us "even" and wanted to ring me back up for the 2 coupons she had missed. So she wanted me to buy 2 bags of senior feed ($29) at full price, not need or get a real exchange, then pay the discounted price ($9) for the same two bags. At this point a manager (Jim) had come up and was backing her up saying it all made sense and that we were "even." Though I had been charged too much and not refunded anything and they wanted more of my money. I asked him for reassurance this wouldn't happen again and he just mansplained that the job was hard. No apologies, nothing. The customer service rep (Sheila) was the only thing that saved the situation by understanding the situation and taking over to help process our refund and get our coupons applied. I spend hundreds of dollars in this store weekly, and this situation has me considering finding a new feed store that actually supports nonprofits and the coupons we need to keep working. If I do go back, Sheila will be the only reason. I am extremely disappointed in this situation. read more

This is the newest addition to the North 40 Outfitters stores in the Spokane area. Plenty of parking in the huge lot out front and plenty of goods inside. They've got everything you need for your home, auto, and clothing needs. It's like the general store on steroids. Worth a visit just to see the expanse of all they have. On this visit I came for boots and work clothes and there were an abundance of options. They will also set up accounts for reputable companies as well. read more

Yesterday (Sunday) I went in to get my line put on my new fly reel. I am just getting started on fly fishing. Chip was such a big help getting me all set up. Chip also gave me some great tips on fly fishing and areas to go. Whenever I am up here visiting family, I love coming in and chatting with Chip and the other staff too. My husband accidentally left a $1.79 seasoning in the cart after purchasing (in the cart return, in the parking lot). No big deal, not worth driving back for. About a week later, I'm looking over the charges on our bank account- they refunded the $1.79! Definitely above and beyond what they needed to do as we never contacted them about it. We have the receipt, so they must have had to look at cameras to find the transaction. read more

This is an amazing store for the West Plains area, and long overdue for folks from Davenport to Spangle. The associates are all really helpful when you can't find stuff, and there is a lot of stuff! There is a dearth of fashion or business attire clothing for women, but the array of country-fide options are eye popping and aplenty. Real good quality for what they have too. I am not a fashionista, so I don't mind at all. That is their niche. And I enjoy going through all the aisles here. You can get lost for hours. read more

I was unprepared for my visit to this local Spokane Valley store in search of some miscellaneous fly fishing gear. Interestingly, the gear fishing guys over at Fin and Feather directed me here when they couldn't accommodate my fly fishing needs. On arrival, I parked at the south end of the building (about the farthest point in the lot from the dedicated fly shop part of the store). I'm glad I did, as it gave me a chance to walk through the entirety of this place: part Bi-Mart, part Cabela's, part Ranch and Home...all great quality and well-stocked in every department. I found the fly shop at the north end, and it was well-stocked with enough high-end gear to make a free standing fly shop blush. The gentleman behind the counter was attentive, answered my gear questions and even showed me some areas to try out on the Spokane river. But it was HOW he showed me that was a first in my visits to any fly shop in the region. They have a desktop hooked up to a giant LCD TV above the register, and using the map feature, he pulled up different areas, and zoomed in, showing me where to park, trails to access the river, flies to use, areas to avoid, etc. This insight (pretty much better than any "advice and guidance" I've received outside all but the best small fly shops I've been to over the years) led to me hooking into a couple thick and broad-shouldered trout during the evening hatch. Kudos North 40! With fair prices, great variety of gear and excellent customer service, I'll be back for sure. read more

I bought a kayak from this store for a camping trip and when I finally put it in the water and got in, I sunk immediately and had to get dragged out of the water by my wife. Checked the kayak for holes but there were none. Just extremely cheap manufacturing and cannot support the average 5'8 240 pound man. Very disappointed in the quality of their products. read more

I had the most Amazing sales associate at Airway Heights North 40. A young woman named Carli helped me and she was professional, honest, caring and fun! She turned something I absolutely HATE to do (clothes shopping), into a very positive and enjoyable experience! I would have walked out with nothing, if she had not been so very helpful. But instead I found almost an entire wardrobe! read more

We came in here to find boots for my son and his upcoming school year. He is in an outdoor based charter school, so these all weather friendly shoes are pretty important. They had all the Mud Skimmers there EXCEPT the size we needed. We are CDA located so I figured it wouldn't be a biggie to ask the CUSTOMER SERVICE desk to, well, give me some customer service. Instead I was met with attitude, told I could find them in Mead or in CDA, when asked to call CDA to hold them, I was met with more attitude. I explained I just needed to make sure they didn't sell before I got there, so she suggested I drive out to Mead where they had 6. Calling the other location was just too much to ask, and so was ordering it to my address. After a very crappy interaction, she literally suggested I just take a picture of the box and order them myself...so I did. And definitely not from North 40. I suggest you give the 20's to 30's ish woman you had working the customer service desk yesterday afternoon a reminder and more training on her JOB, or boot her if she can't perform it. read more
